Elaine Bismor is the care home Manager and Owner, She is a very hand’s on Manager who believes that a Care home should always feel warm, inviting.
Elaine has worked in the care industry all her working life, and has owned Priory care since 2015 and now runs the home with her family. She is also registered manager at The Old Coach house - Hessle and she was as a nurse at Hull Royal Infirmary.

In her job role Elaine has the overall responsibility for the smooth running of the home and to make sure the residents are receiving the best care possible at all times by being a proactive hands on manager. Elaine manages the staff team to a very high standard ensuring that home meets and exceeds the various demands of inspection and all regulations.

Elaine has a string qualifications including but not limited to:
Nursing degree
NVQ’s in health and social care level 4
City and Guilds Registered Manager Award Level 4
End of life Care Level 5
Safeguarding of adults
Various dementia awareness courses

She is also one of our dignity champions for the home

I have worked in the home for 16 years. I am a trained accountant and HR specialised and hold an NVQ in health and social care and other management qualifications.

I am part of running the day-to-day business future-proofing the business for years to come.

I love working in a caring environment on a daily basis, we are always having a laugh and joking around the home and ensuring the residents are living a fulfilled life.

Our favourite is the pub and bingo afternoons.

We celebrate all staff members' personal and professional goals and encourage all relatives to join in with home daily activities.

I always put the residents at the centre of the care to promote person-centred care. Sensitive to the needs of residents as well as with family support. Promote high standards.

I have recently been promoted to Senior Carer in the home. I have worked at Priory Care since 2019.

I love my job and especially like to work in the Dementia Unit, keeping the residents busy with cooking and dancing around the lounges.

I try every day to make the residents smile and try and make their lives a little more fulfilled.

We have a hardworking team at home and all work together to ensure the smooth running of the home.

I started at Priory in Feb 2020, not long before we went into lockdown with Covid-19.

I had not worked in a caring environment before, so I found it quite challenging, to begin with. As we had no visitors there were lots of phone calls, Facetime calls etc.
with family members. My main job role is meet and greet, which I enjoy as I get to know the families. I have completed online training which helps to understand the roles of my colleagues as well as my own role. My previous job was in a busy reception, so I hope I brought some of my skills with me. I enjoy talking with the lovely residents and helping in any way I can to make their lives better.

I have worked at priory care for a year and a half, my job role is housekeeping supervisor.

I love the job I do and working in the care industry.
A massive part of this is down to the residents, seeing them happy and interacting with them daily. It's very rewarding for both myself and the residents.

I enjoy my job in the laundry and really like talking to the residents, seeing them happy makes me happy.

The management has created a vibrant and friendly atmosphere to provide support for the development of each member of staff both professionally and personally.

I am very passionate about my role and being able to make a genuine difference is so fulfilling and rewarding. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (NVQ3), Mandatory training for health care assistants, 15 care standards certificates, numerous in-house training and additional training sponsored by the company.

I make sure I engage well with residents, delivering a top-notch personalised care service, showing compassion as well as maintaining their privacy and dignity when providing care. I also have the ability to communicate, persuading them to make and sustain positive changes while their confidentiality is maintained.

I very much enjoy working with this care home because we have one goal, caring for the resident, the care assistants are very nice to each other and we all are team players, taking proper care of the residents.

I have worked for the company for around 3 years with a little break in between.

It is safe to say that working in care is for people who do care genuinely for others.

My job allows me to offer help, and support to the residents and meet their daily needs.

Putting a smile on the face of a resident, making them laugh, and giving reassurances are the gratification I need to get going.
