Mum has been a resident for two and a half years and her care has been very good. However, over the last six months or so it has been excellent. Thank you Goole Hall for all your patience.

Mum has been a resident for the last two years. Although Covid restrictions made it difficult at first, the staff have always been wonderful with her and very helpful and informative with us. She considers the staff to be her friends. Her room is comfortable and you are encouraged to take things to
make her feel more at home. As things have eased and visiting has become easier we have always been greeted with a friendly smile and a joke, but courteously. She enjoys the food and the increasing activities which have now been re-introduced. Special events, such as birthdays have been celebrated with her and they have provided a cake and made sure that she enjoys her special day. She has always been treated with respect, but friendliness. Any problems have been quickly resolved and we have been informed straight away.
The only problem I have had has been with the accounts department at head office, who seem to be disorganised at times, however, problems have been resolved.

My mum moved to Goole Hall when she was no longer able to live independently. I have nothing but praise for the standard of care that she receives. All the staff are professional and caring in their approach.
The standard of food is very good. My mum always enjoys her meals.
Residents are invited
to join in a number of activities such as bingo and indoor bowls. Family events are organised such as coffee mornings and a recent Coronation lunch was held. The staff made a great effort to ensure that this was a fun day.
Recently, my mum has been rather poorly. The ongoing care my mum receives is exemplary.
Goole Hall staff are friendly and welcoming. They keep in contact with me about my mum’s needs and forthcoming events. I am so glad my mum is in such a caring, warm and safe place.

Dad went into Goole Hall from September 2022 until January 2023 for respite care, while there the staff got him walking around with a frame which he was struggling to do before going in. We found the room warm and comfortable. All the staff were polite, always knocking before entering and always treating
Father with respect and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble, they were always willing to help with anything that he needed. Whenever he used his call button it never seemed long before someone was there. Meals were of good quality and varied cooked meals at midday, sandwiches early evening. Staff are always welcoming when we visited asking us to sign in and always taking us into the room and walking us out when time to leave. Father had his 85th birthday while in Goole Hall, they made him a cake and a bit of a fuss of him - making his day.
Father is now home and manages most things with a little help where needed. If ever I needed to go into a home I would have no problems picking this one.
Thanks to all staff.

My dad was in the care of the team at Goole Hall for palliative care in November 2022. Everyone at Goole Hall cared for him exceptionally well; they were so caring, respectful, and above all, kind. Dad was very ill and sadly passed away, but the team at Goole Hall were so attentive; they looked after
Mum and me and my wife too, always updating us on how Dad was, giving us tea and lovely lunches for my mum too, whilst we sat with Dad.
Thank you, everyone, at Goole Hall - you were all amazing.

My Mum has been in Goole Hall for three years now. She has dementia. They kept her safe during the pandemic as they were one of the few homes to stay covid free until she had had all four vaccinations. I can't say that I could have done the same. I know she's safe there.
The furniture may not be always
new but the staff care, a lot! She can be very difficult at times but they don't get cross with her but make her laugh so she quickly forgets to be difficult.
I'm more than happy with the care she gets.

My Mother was taken to this home after spending 8 weeks in Hospital after suffering a stroke. This place is hell on earth. When she rang her bell because she needed to use the commode or the use of a bedpan she was told to just do her business in the bed and let them know when she has finished. 3 hours
later they came to clean her up. She had no pad on just a waterproof sheet under her which they just wiped after cleaning her up and she was left to lay back down on it. One night she had slipped to the bottom of her bed but because she has no use on the right-hand side of her body. She couldn't move herself back up the bed. She buzzed the staff for over 4 hours but no one came. She was given a jam sandwich for her tea every tea time, even though they knew she is diabetic and not allowed Jam. Thankfully we were able to get her out of there after 6 days.

Thank you to all the staff at Goole Hall for all the love you gave to my grandmother, especially in her last few weeks. They went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable and that we as relatives were looked after too.

Came to visit my aunt this week and she was so happy and relaxed. The staff were very welcoming and able to answer any questions I had regarding my aunt's care. They had an event on and myself and my aunt were given a lovely tray of homemade cakes and pastries.
I really enjoyed my visit.

I visit my relative at Goole Hall on a regular basis and the staff always make me feel very welcome and offer me a drink when I arrive. The care my relative receives is really good and the staff cannot do enough, not only for my relative but for other residents as well.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.652)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.652) out of 10 for Goole Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.563 for Goole Hall is calculated as follows: ( (30 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.563

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.089 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Goole Hall is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.6 = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
