My father moved into the Olde Coach House in 2022, and throughout his time there I found all the staff to be caring, friendly and helpful to both him and me. Both sections of the home are clean and welcoming. My father was well cared for in a safe environment, and all his personal and medical needs
met particularly as his condition progressed. During my father's final week I felt well supported and informed by the staff involved in his care, and appreciated their calm manner and empathy. Thank you.

I do not believe that there would be a better option for my mother. She is well cared for and safe. There are always enough staff members around. Everything is well managed . The staff are friendly and approachable, The home provides activities that my mother has the opportunity to engage with and
also the freedom to opt out of. As a family we are satisfied that mum is OK .

Our mum came to the Olde Coach House three years ago following the sudden death of our dad. The manager and her team immediately put us at ease that mum would be well looked after and that is the case. There is a good atmosphere with caring, attentive staff and well organised facilities. The care home
has daily activities that encourages her socialisation and stimulation where possible. The home is very central and the staff take every opportunity for mum to get some fresh air and a change of surroundings. This is important as mum's memory is poor but she spent a lot of her married life in this village so she recognises her surroundings. The team are kind and reassuring if there are any questions or queries, and the reception team are brilliant always on hand to help out, communicating well with the rest of the team when we arrive for a visit. What is important is that mum consistently says that she is happy staying at the care home and she feels well looked after by a dedicated team.

My mother is very well looked after at the Coach House. It is my first experience of residential care and I believe I have been very fortunate as Mum has regained the weight she lost in surgery and looks much better than she did.
I find all the residents are treated with dignity and kindness which
is critically important.
I have no worries about my Mums safety - it is very secure with all the necessary technology and Mum has had previous falls but her room is always clear and clean but still cosy. mum is sociable and they often have activities organised and some events which keep her entertained.
I would recommend this care home as I feel very fortunate to have found it.

We, as a family, would like to thank the manager and staff for looking after our mum who has been in The Olde Coach House now for several weeks. The care she receives is exemplary, and the knowledge of, and attention to her needs was well evidenced yesterday when we had a meeting there. Mum has been
in many care homes over the last decade and the coach house surpasses all others in every way. We are very grateful to the manager and her excellent team.

I often visit my father-in-law in the home. Whenever I visit him, he seems too thirsty. I am not too sure how often he is being given a drink, because he couldn't feed himself. I don't understand about the system or I just worry about his condition compared to other residents. I hope my concern will
be clear to understand and see him more lively and fresher. Thank you.

She will contact you to discuss, please always do speak to the team when you are in the home with any worries or questions, they can then show you the charts to ease any worries. It's always a worry when our loved ones take to their beds due to a decline in health, it can take a second to adjust to them getting less active than they used to be. I have had a quick look at his records and his drinking quantity is an appropriate amount each day and its recorded. He has a jug in his room each day for the carers to assist him with. Are you bringing in different drinks he likes that we do not have in the home? Maybe a different taste is what he likes. We are always happy to buy other products if you think he likes something different, please do let us know.

Very caring, efficient and friendly. Mum's 1st staycation in a care home after being married for 71 years and living in the same house for 61 years. She is now totally at home and we/family are not worrying about her.

Wonderful care home led by an incredible manager and her dedicated care team.
Always, the care team are pleasant and centred around the residents they care for.
My mum is in the annexe; it is really comfortably furnished, the food is freshly cooked, and Mum gets a steady supply of tea all day along
with her biscuits.
Very impressed with the level of care and service provided. Highly recommended.

Really pleased with how well Mum is doing, her overall health has improved since being in the care home. All staff are excellent but only given 4 stars as the owner never acknowledges or says Hello to visitors which I think is a small but important gesture.

We have been really pleased with the care our Mum has received since arriving at the home in April 2023.
The team are caring and attentive to Mums needs and nothing is ever too much trouble.
They try to encourage Mum to participate and join in when activities are happening and don’t give up on her
when she declines - she needs encouragement!
The home is clean, bright and airy and very well staffed.

As the care home Manager and Owner, Elaine Bismor is a very hand’s on Manager who believes that a Care home should always feel warm, inviting.
Elaine has worked in the care industry all her working life, and has been involved in the Old Coach House for over 30 years and now owns the home with her family. Her previous role was as a nurse at Hull Royal Infirmary.


In her job role Elaine has the overall responsibility for the smooth running of the home and to make sure the residents are receiving the best care possible at all times by being a proactive hands on manager. Elaine manages the staff team to a very high standard ensuring that home meets and exceeds the various demands of inspection and all regulations.


Elaine has a string qualifications including but not limited to:
Nursing degree
NVQ’s in health and social care level 4
City and Guilds Registered Manager Award Level 4
End of life Care Level 5
Safeguarding of adults

I am part of running the day-to-day business future-proofing the business for years to come.
