My aunt moved in to The Old Coach House 3 years ago and has been extremely happy with every aspect of care provided. She always tells us how helpful and friendly all the staff are and how much she enjoys the food. I have always found The Old Coach House to be very clean, tidy and well maintained.

My Mam has been a resident of The Olde Coach House for nearly 4 1/2 years now and we, as a family, have always been completely satisfied with the care she has received there. The staff are friendly and attentive and treat all the residents with dignity. The home itself is kept immaculately clean. The
information we receive is always good. My Mam always seems content when we visit her. I would be happy to recommend The Olde Coach House to anyone looking for care for an elderly parent or relative.

I do recommend The Olde Coach House. It is very well looked after, very clean and the meals and staff are very nice, very kind and caring. As I know, with my Mum being in there, they also give me my hot lunch, when I go and visit her on a Thursday and it really is very nice.

My mother had a life changing stroke two and a half years ago. We looked at several care homes in the Hessle area. We chose The Olde Coach House for its excellent location in the centre of the village It's management and staff and recommendation of others. We have not been disappointed. There is low
staff turnover and the standard of care is excellent, particularly as mum's needs have become more demanding with time.

My mum has been in The Olde Coach House for two and a half years. She has had a massive stroke and is very disabled so her needs are pretty complicated and greater than those residents who are ambulant. Overall, we are very pleased with the care she is receiving. The home is brilliantly located in central
Hessle so her friends can visit her. They are always welcomed and The Olde Coach House staff make sure mum looks her best when going out on visits and meeting up with her Heddle community. Sadly mum is slowly deteriorating but her end of life care is efficiently dispensed with dignity, sensitivity and wonderful sense of humour. Thank you.

My mother has been in The Olde Coach House for over two years after suffering a stroke. I have found the staff to be excellent in dealing with, at times, a difficult resident who has struggled with her loss of independence. Appropriate equipment has been purchased to enable her to be as comfortable
as possible given the circumstances. Her weight has increased. The personal touches of putting her makeup on have made all the difference. Good communication from the management. Staff all helpful and manage their workload with humour and professional.

Staff are very helpful and caring - my mum seems happy and settled, she has been at Coach House for 9 months. Admin and liaison with each other room for improvement. Had issues with hospital appointments, staff telling us different accounts. Feel strongly about having to pay for incontinence pads, letter
dated last February regarding this matter and still funding them.

I just wanted to let you know and hopefully clear the incontinence pads issue up, the letter regarding this was this February 2017. This unfortunately is an NHS issue as we have to wait for incontinence nurse to visit the home which is out of our control when and how often this happens. Your mum is definitely on her list for when she comes.


Next time you are in the home you can chat with a manager or Senior where you think we can improve in regards to the Admin and liaising as we always happy to hear comments.

Mum was always treated with great care and dignity at The Olde Coach House. Although we would both sometimes be upset when I had to leave her at times, I was always confident she would be comforted and very well looked after by the lovely staff. My mother was treated with such care and dignity. Everything about The Olde Coach House was first class. From the domestic staff to manager.

My mum is 94 years old and blind. After a spell in hospital, mum went into the Old Coach House for 2 weeks respite care. The staff were brilliant with mum and were attentive to her needs, very helpful and extremely patient with her. Their dedication, enthusiasm and hard work is a credit to them and
I can't praise them enough for how they looked after her. My mum is now back at home and thanks to all the team gaining confkaroo.idence and independence once more. A truly lovely bunch of people.

My gran has been a resident of the Olde Coach House for two and half years. I chose the home for my gran after meeting the management team and reviewing the level of service my gran expected to receive. My gran had dementia. At no point has the care home smelt unpleasant, has always been spotlessly
clean and we have always been made to feel welcome when visiting. My gran thoroughly enjoyed the home made food and cakes!
My gran always looked well cared for including visits from the hairdresser and chiropodist, always had clean clothes on and even on occasions had her nails painted.
My gran passed away last month at the home, she was 92 and I was extremely touched with the level of support the home offered to us - constantly bringing us refreshments to keep us going during the three days we were there.
I cannot recommend this care home highly enough and the staff need to know that they were highly thought of and their work was very much appreciated. Thank you

My mother who suffered dementia was released from hospital following a urinary tract infection. She was unable to go home to her carers and was admitted to another Nursing Home as no place has available at The Old Coach House. The manager rang me to say they could make a room available in their dementia
wing. They arranged the collection of my mother and dealt directly with her GP.
In the short time she was at the home, they rang me on a daily basis, as I lived in Essex, to update me on her health. When I and my family visited I was given access at any time, and made to feel part of a family. The care she received was excellent and even up to her death there was a staff member sitting with her when I arrived. The home kept me fully advised at all times.

After visiting a number of care homes I decided The Coach House at Hessle met all the criteria I was seeking. Bright, happy caring environment, friendly staff, cleanliness own room en-suite and home cooked food. My aunt reached the age of 100 thanks to the loving care and compassion shown to her by
all the staff. I myself was treated with the utmost kindness, the staff always approachable and having time to talk about my aunt. I was so pleased I had found such a well managed and efficiently run care home.

My family and I are more than happy with the care my mother is getting at The Old Coach House. She has been there for 2 years having been moved there from a previous care home, and although she is very fragile through old age (102) next month) the care and attention she's has received has been second

As the care home Manager and Owner, Elaine Bismor is a very hand’s on Manager who believes that a Care home should always feel warm, inviting.
Elaine has worked in the care industry all her working life, and has been involved in the Old Coach House for over 30 years and now owns the home with her family. Her previous role was as a nurse at Hull Royal Infirmary.


In her job role Elaine has the overall responsibility for the smooth running of the home and to make sure the residents are receiving the best care possible at all times by being a proactive hands on manager. Elaine manages the staff team to a very high standard ensuring that home meets and exceeds the various demands of inspection and all regulations.


Elaine has a string qualifications including but not limited to:
Nursing degree
NVQ’s in health and social care level 4
City and Guilds Registered Manager Award Level 4
