Ascot House offers long term, respite and day care within a home full of character in a central, yet peaceful, town location. An excellent team of experienced, dedicated carers are devoted to the well-being of everyone living at the home, with a focus on independence and freedom of choice. Tasty, nutritious food is made onsite every day from fresh ingredients and special diets can be catered for.

All bedrooms are en-suite, tastefully decorated and fully furnished. It is also
able to offer 'companion rooms' which are suitable for couples. The home itself sits within delightful, lawned gardens with a private courtyard accessed through one of the sitting rooms.

Minibus trips run regularly to places such as the seaside, the theatre, or even just an ice cream in the countryside. Their in-house activities co-ordinator creates, with input from the residents, a whole range of stimulating and enjoyable ways to spend the day for those who wish to participate.

Upon arrival, Mum was made very welcome by very friendly caring staff. They took the time to find out all about Mum's likes and dislikes to create a person-centred care plan with Mum at the centre.
A calendar of activities is advertised on the noticeboard, ensuring residents always have something
to look forward to.
The rooms are nicely heated, homely and clean. The dining area is very nicely set out to encourage dining together and meeting up with other residents.
During the warmer weather, the residents can sit in the conservatory/games room or garden area.
I am very pleased Mum is staying at Ascot House, it is excellently led by Management who have kept us up to date with any information and answered any queries we have had.
It is nice knowing Mum is well cared for and safe.

The manager and care assistants are very engaging and seem to really care about the residents. Lots of smiles. Always willing to listen to suggestions and very good at problem-solving even the smallest of queries. My mum has anxiety but she feels secure and comfortable.

My Mum has been a resident for over a year now, the manager and her staff made her welcome from day one. She's the happiest I've seen her for a long time. She suffers from dementia and can be chaotic a lot of the time, but the staff have been nothing other than patient and caring with her, she's safe,
well-fed (she loves the food) and cared for, but the staff are there for the wider family too, that's important to me because when all said and done, my mum is important to me, they listen to us, to our concerns, keep us informed when we need to be informed. I have nothing but admiration for the team at Ascot House.

Although my brother wasn't a resident for very long before his sudden and unexpected death, we found the care to be excellent. Staff went out of their way to assist us, including meeting at the bank to sort out accounts. Staff were always pleasant and welcoming. After our loss, we couldn't have asked
for more loving and caring support.

Myself and my daughters have recently started to visit my mother-in-law (their grandma) at Ascot House. On our visits, the security measures to enter the building are excellent, giving us confidence in her safety. We have found the staff to be pleasant and caring to everyone. The senior on shift was
happy to listen and reassure us about her health and the care that's given. There is plenty of staff around, and they seem to be competent in their role. It is clean with no unpleasant odours. Very happy with what we have seen.

From the day our mother entered Ascot House, the staff have bent over backwards to make her feel at home. The food has been extremely good to the point that she has regained a healthy weight. Visits are not a problem. Parking is on the doorstep or extra behind. We as a family are extremely happy with
the care provided. After having some bad care at other places, we feel that we are in a good position to know the difference.

My daughter and I viewed Ascot House before choosing it for a period of respite for my husband and we were totally confident that he would be well cared for. The manager obviously works from the heart and this is being transferred to her deputy too. They are hard workers and it shows. You should be

Big shout out to all the staff and the Manager at Ascot House for their kind and caring treatment of my relative who has resided there for a year now. My step-dad, who is 96, has been in Ascot House for two years and during the whole of that time, he has been very well cared for. The staff are all friendly (both to residents and to visitors). It is very clean and comfortable and is a real home-from-home. He is very happy and I have every confidence
that he is getting the best possible care.

Throughout the year my mum has been in the care home, I have always been very happy with the way the staff care for my mum in a safe and dignified way. My father had three hospital admissions in January and February 2022, suffering from heart issues and Alzheimer's. It was decided that he'd get the best 24-hour care in a home. During the selection process, the manager contacted me several times to discuss Dad's needs and the best environment for him.
The family selected Ascot House and despite a potential last-minute hitch, which the manager dealt with calmly and professionally, Dad became a resident. His room was fresh, clean, bright and welcoming. The manager and her team cared for Dad with cheeriness, care, dignity and respect and despite his advanced Alzheimer's got to know him and his past hobbies. The team also communicated regularly with his family and took the time to understand our wishes. We will be forever appreciative and grateful for the care and attention given and the fact that Dad was happy, content, and well-fed, especially cakes and scones as Dad always had a sweet tooth. I would highly recommend the quality of care at Ascot House.

I recently lost my father and I wanted to express how much gratitude I have to the manager and her amazing team at Ascot House. Dad began his time with them just before lockdown in March 2020, it was a difficult time for us as a family and especially myself because I had seen him two times a day since
my mother passed in 2015, the no visitor situation enforced by our government was very hard but we were kept well informed by the team. Dad's dementia progressed during his time at Ascot and he changed from the loving man he was into a sometimes aggressive and hard person to be around but the staff managed him with great care and dignity. He had a spell in hospital over the New Year of 2021 and I got numerous calls from multiple staff members, sometimes in tears, because they couldn’t get information about his well-being in the hospital. Just amazing and shows how much care was invested in my father! I would highly recommend the quality of care at Ascot House.
