Borrage House supports up to 40 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle and provides dementia care and continues to welcome new residents. The home is proud to hold Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation to be able to provide tailored care for veterans.

Set in a quiet town location, in its own beautiful grounds, Borrage House care home is close to local services and amenities, such as the North Yorkshire Moors and the beauty spots of Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey.

The home strives to deliver a range of residential care services, including convalescence care, respite care, and long-term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

The care team get to know customers and work with them to organise wellness activity, while matching individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community.

Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements. Meals are cooked fresh and from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by their team of highly trained chefs and kitchen staff.

Anchor, which operates Borrage House, are one of England’s largest providers of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

I was very impressed with the quick and efficient manner in which I was admitted here, and have nothing but praise for the warm welcome I received from members of the staff. To them, nothing is much trouble. They are caring, friendly and approachable and seem happy in their work and there is a warm,
homely feeling here.

Mum has very high expectations, coming from her parents who were in 'service' as Butler and Cook. Overall she is very happy and looked after, which is for me as her only daughter!

Dad has lived here for 13months. The care is excellent, we, his family are happy and content that constant care he needs is in safe hands.
The staff are so friendly and dad loves it. We could not ask for more.

Last September, at the age of 94 my mother came to live at Borrage House. Her husband had died a year earlier, she was recovering from a hip fracture and a broken wrist. It was our first choice as my father-in-law lived there for 18months, from April 2007. He was happy and is fondly remembered. She
is now mentally stronger, taking advantage of everything, she enjoyed the Christmas events, recently visited the workhouse museum in Ripon, was fascinated by the reptile visit/therapy this week and is in the book club led by a volunteer. My mother enjoys her meals and the company of residents and staff in the dining room. She also relishes the privacy of breakfast in her room. She states that she would recommend Borrage House. My mother and I feel supported. The staff listen and do their best to assist. I am grateful to know that she is treated with kindness and dignity. Her aim is to return home when she is stronger and fitter.

Borrage House look after my mum very well and all the staff are very kind and let you know what's going on. My mum has a good choice of meals and if there is something she does not like, the chef will always cook something that she does like.
