I have complete trust in the staff and management of the home to care for my mother. The home has a homely, welcoming atmosphere and staff are very friendly to both residents and visitors alike. Residents are treated with respect and their wellbeing is maintained by
caring and professional staff.
I
have no hesitation in recommending this home to others seeking a secure home from home for their loved ones.

After a 9 week stay in hospital, my doctor insisted I had a couple of weeks stay in a nursing home. Not knowing what to expect I was delighted with St John's House. My room was very comfortable. The staff could not have been genuinely nicer and welcoming and the food was consistently beautiful. I thoroughly
enjoyed my stay and could happily have stayed longer.

My wife spent 2 weeks recuperation at St John's after 9 weeks in hospital. We were both very favourably impressed with everything, in fact, it would be impossible for us to find fault.
She was very happy there and was in no hurry to come home!

Lovely place in a lovely setting, warm, friendly staff. All residents appear happy enough.
The house is beautifully decorated, rooms and areas are all clean, proper linen table cloths and napkins, wine on Sundays with meals, residents' bar, plenty of activities, nothing is too much trouble.

The house and gardens are fantastic, very clean. All the staff work together and are very friendly and helpful. The food that is served is very good and varied. The place is spotless, very nice rooms and like a five-star hotel.

My father is looked after with dignity, compassion and understanding.
His room is his home and this is fully respected by all the staff. His dietary needs are fully met and he can order different items from those on the menu so that each meal he can eat something and enjoy it. His clothes are carefully
laundered and ironed and all the residents look cared for. The hygiene standards are excellent and the rooms are all smart, spotlessly clean yet made homely by the resident and personal belongings.

Because of the excellent individual care and attention that the staff at this care home provides to its residents my mum is now having the medication she requires to control her condition. They noticed her change in behaviour and were able to alert me and to raise concerns with her GP. This isn't just
a care home - this is a family home where everyone is treated with respect and dignity and look after each other. Thank you for having my mum as part of the family!

My father-in-law has lived at St John's for nearly 7 years. He often says moving into St John's is the best thing he ever did! All the staff are courteous and there's always someone nearby to help with any queries. Family and friends are made very welcome; it's certainly a "home from home".


I wouldn't

hesitate in recommending St John's to anyone thinking of moving into a care home - care is at the centre of everything they do.

My 89-year-old father (frail and with vascular dementia) was in St Johns House for one week's respite care. From the initial contact to the moment he left everything was outstanding. The manager and her team are wonderful - caring, kind and understanding (with a good sense of humour). My father was
extremely well looked after and said he felt very safe, comfortable and he enjoyed the company. Not only did the staff bring him out of his shell, but they also tempted him with delicious food and to join in with some activities. There are lots of smiling staff who are willing to help with anything. The home is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. My father is now on the waiting list for a permanent room. Having had experience with other care homes, I cannot rate St Johns highly enough.

For the completion of this form, I consulted other visitors to my mother to add value to my own views. Respect and dignity aspects came out strongly and this is particularly important for the vulnerable. Staff are always polite and helpful. Medical support is excellent and well underpinned with abundant
suitable food and drink. The environment both internal and external is excellent.

My mother has been a permanent resident for the last year, having spent many happy weeks at St John's for respite in the past.
She is happy there and all the staff are very kind and caring.
She loves all the activities which are varied, also the outings.
The food (especially the cakes!) is excellent
too.

Mum has been at St John's for 4 years and has always received excellent care and support. She has deteriorated both mentally and physically (who hasn't at 97?) but the staff have always shown her patience and consideration. They encourage her to participate in the activities even if she says "no!" and
when she does join in she enjoys it! I thoroughly recommend St John's I am thinking of putting my name on the waiting list for 20yrs time!

A splendid gala day - the staff and management being fully involved.
Lovely gardens (would be nice if hedges could be lowered to gain access to magnificent views.) All residents appear contented.

Mum has been a resident for a year and throughout that time has been treated with courtesy, professionalism, care and dignity. She has been encouraged to join in with all activities and events and to socialise. The standard of care has been exemplary, with members of staff often going beyond what they
are paid for to make sure the residents feel safe, included, healthy, stimulated and happy. I have nothing but praise for this care home.

My 99 year old mother has lived here for nearly 3 years and she is very happy here, which is a great relief to us! Every time we visit, it is clean and tidy. The staff are excellent and it feels very homely.


Mum is too old to do many activities now but there are plenty arranged. She is also too old

to fill this in herself. Who knows, I may end up here myself!

Placing my father in a care home was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I looked at several homes before finally finding St John's and everyone at the home made it so much easier.
It is a beautiful home. The staff are bright, caring and attentive, both to my father and myself.
The home
is kept beautifully clean, there is not one area of this home you could fault.
