Surrounded by stunning countryside, and with great access to local amenities and the A1, Leeming Bar Grange is a warm and inviting residence situated between the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The home offers residential, nursing, respite, palliative, and dementia care. With 60 bedrooms divided between their care units, they think carefully about the type of room each resident needs.

Bedrooms are set across two floors, and each floor has two of its own lounges and dining rooms, there is also a conservatory and reminiscence room, meaning peace and quiet is never far away. All furnishings and décor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. They also have an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens with bench seating and tables and chairs, perfect for outdoor socialising.

Chefs prepare fresh, quality, and nutritional food on-site and residents are able to choose from a daily menu. Particular requests are taken into account as far as is possible, and special dietary requirements will be catered for. Residents may eat together or in their rooms depending on their preference.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator plans regular events and outings, working in close consultation with residents and families to ensure all residents remain stimulated.

Mum has only just moved in - I was very impressed with the initial visit. The visit to mums flat or assessment, the introduction on booking in/arriving.
It is a very distressing time for me and all staff made it as smooth as possible for mum and myself.

The staff are excellent and are caring for the residents in their care. As I visit regularly to see what is going I am concerned about the staff welfare. There never seems to be enough staff on the floor, especially at nighttime - hence the staff that are working more hours, not able to get holidays
taken and therefore, are worn out.


It seems to me that staff are leaving to go to other care homes and I can only think it is due to being understaffed or for more pay. The home itself is brilliant and modern, and I am looking forward to meeting the new manager.

My auntie was quite poorly when she came to Leeming Bar Grange and we can't fault any part of her care. All the staff were very helpful and supportive and made her last few days as comfortable as possible. They also made all her family welcome to visit at any time.


On the sad night that she passed

away, one of the carers kept up CPR until the ambulance arrived which gave us time to spend with her. That same carer also attended the funeral.

As a family, we are very pleased with the care that our mother receives at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home.
She has been there for about three and a half years and we have had no problems at all.
The staff even though there has been quite a turnover, have all been wonderful with Mum and she is much more
content than when she lived at home.
Any health issues have been discussed with us and we have been involved at all stages in discussion about her care.

My mum has been at this home for five years.
She has always been treated with respect and cared for really well.
Staff are friendly and helpful if we have any problems.
Food and snacks are always appealing and tasty.
We like the fact that we can visit at any time of the day and are free to use the
kitchen to make tea etc as and when we please.
The staff work in a very challenging environment and do so with the utmost patience and care.

Room showed to the family on the evening before arrival was not ready. Bathroom needed work to make it safe, smelled of urine and nothing like room showed when looking around. My mother was given the room that we had been shown around after my sister spoke to management. We were warned that there could
potentially be problems with the lady in opposite room due to her wanting room empty. There have been a few incidents but we are hoping staff will intervene and the problem will be sorted. The staff are very caring and as visitors, we are made to feel very welcome. Surprise with top up after social services told us it was around £50.

The home has a welcoming friendly atmosphere and the staff make eye contact and acknowledge your presence. My father is cared for and is settled. Any concerns we express are dealt with as promptly as the staff can arrange and if not strategies are put in place to overcome the problems/requests.

Having spent three years in Leeming Bar Grange my mother passed away in their care. They could not have been more caring or loving towards her. The care home truly became her home. As a visitor we always felt comfortable and knew she was well cared for and treated as an individual person.

Hi, my name is Kathryn, and I am the General Manager here at Leeming Bar Grange.

Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.


I have worked for the healthcare sector for over 14 years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. Within my previous role, I supported eight care homes to maintain and deliver training. Over the last two years, I have continued to expand my knowledge and support the homes in various different capacities and this has given me the drive to take on this new role. I am excited to work with the team at Leeming Bar Grange to continue to deliver the premier standard of care and to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.


The quality of care that all my residents receive is my passion and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person-centred care possible.
