Situated on the edge of the bustling seaside town of Scarborough, this warm and inviting residence has great access to local amenities and it is a short drive from the sandy beaches of the North Yorkshire coast.

The home provides residential, dementia, respite and palliative care.

With bedrooms divided between the residential and dementia care units, staff think carefully about the type of room each resident needs.

Bedrooms are set across three floors and there are two lounges and a diner on the bottom two floors. The top floor is smaller and has a separate lounge as well as a diner/lounge. All furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. There are also extensive grounds surrounding the home with nautical-themed gardens, a conservatory, well-maintained pathways and accessible planters for green-fingered residents to enjoy.

Chefs prepare tasty and nutritional meals on site. Residents are able to choose from a daily menu, and all special dietary requirements can be catered for.

Activities Coordinators plan regular events for residents, either in the home or on excursions to the local area. Requests will be met where possible and all planning takes place in consultation with residents and their families to ensure that there is something for everyone.

My husband had a good stay at Scarborough Hall. Although he was only on respite for a few days, the staff were very kind, friendly and caring. The food was lovely and the room was very pleasant and clean. The facilities in the room were accessible with help due to his lack of mobility the carers were
happy to help.

As always, when visiting my aunt, the staff are helpful and welcoming, the home, in general, is clean and comfortable and my aunt's room is always very tidy and welcoming.
If I ever have a question it is answered straight away. My aunt is very happy which is my main concern.

Everytime I go the staff are very friendly and clean they cannot do enough for everybody. The meals are good as well. It is also clean and tidy as well.
Look after the people who need help drinks are also in the telly room.

Very caring staff in all departments, i.e. good response to alarm and to make resident (husband) comfortable in wheelchair, along with a sense of humour chat on both sides. Well-kept gardens for residents to enjoy. Good food cooked on-site by the chef. Good choice menu. Requests for appointments, dentist,
calls to GP and nurse have always been dealt with by teams in a professional manner. I visit nearly every day and have found the home offers a very happy atmosphere - thanks to all the staff I have come to know.

My mum has lived at Barchester Scarborough Hall Care Home for six months, she has settled well. Mum is well cared for, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They go above and beyond. The home is warm, cosy and clean.

Scarborough Hall is my dad’s first choice in respite care. Since January he has been in and out a few times. He’s due to go back in again soon and it’s a huge weight lifted knowing he’s safe. He’s always so happy when he returns. The Managers are always visible around the home, they are always up on
the dementia floors helping out. Which is lovely to see. You don’t get that in many homes.
My dad is looking forward to his return.

My husband has been a resident for 12 months, his dementia has accelerated in this time.
1. Residents spend most days sitting in the dining room dozing - no stimulation provided.
2. There are some excellent staff and some poor ones. Often they are very short of staff.
3. The manager is not there
every day and no deputy, both usually in the office when present, not visible to staff and residents so unaware of what's happening.
4. Laundry/loss of clothes/damage to clothes.
Careless mayhem. Disaster.

My sister has had twelve good years at Barchester Scarborough Hall. She has suffered a lot in her life, at Scarborough Hall she is at home and safe. Her room is very comfortable, shelves put up for new family photos and her mug collection. I sleep at night because my sister is safe!

My mother has been in Scarborough Hall Care Home for a few months now and my family and I are extremely pleased with this placement. Everyone is always polite, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in Scarborough Hall is always excellent. The facilities are first class, always clean and maintained to
a very high standard. I haven't had a meal at the home but the menu is very impressive and the homemade snacks in the lounge are always excellent. I have left activities and safety/security categories blank because I have no experience with them but I am confident they will be excellent.

I visit Scarborough Hall Care Home with 2-3 members of the church. We are always welcomed by staff who join us in the lounge prepared for us to do a small service. Residents are treated with great care and respect and always seem happy and cheerful. I would not hesitate in recommending Scarborough Hall
to anyone considering care for a family member.

I have worked in the home as the manager since 2008, I commissioned the home and have grown it with the team into the home it is today.
