Anchor’s Townend Close care home is located at the heart of the Cross Hills community near Keighley. The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 39 residents in single ensuite rooms. They are pleased to be welcoming new residents to Townend Close, both on a permanent basis and for shorter stays.

The home is close to the Yorkshire countryside, with secluded gardens of its own and convenient access to local towns.

Townend Close's dedicated care team takes time to get to know each individual and welcomes their input to create a detailed, personalised care plan to ensure their needs are met throughout their time at the home.

The home offers dementia care, in which staff are regularly trained to ensure their approach reflects best practice. The compassionate, person-centred care is provided by getting to know customers and building relationships.

Townend Close care home gives residents and their families complete peace of mind in the knowledge that their loved ones are being taken care of above and beyond.
The rooms and facilities are exceptional, making the transition into care so much easier.
Every need is taken care of, from hairdressers
to Chiropodists.
The way in which the staff ensures all residents are made to feel at ease is outstanding.

Mum has now been a resident in Townend Close since September 2021, and we are so pleased with the care and attention she has received. All the staff are brilliant and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Food is excellent, and the home is kept very clean, as are the resident's own rooms. Mum now
joins in with the activities that go on in the lounge on most days, which is wonderful.
We are so pleased she was accepted at Townend Close and feel that she couldn’t be anywhere better.

My mother has been a resident at Townend Close for almost two years through the entire covid 19 period. However, the care she has received has been excellent in a period when staff at the home have been under extraordinary pressure. The protection of the residents has been paramount but the staff have
been extremely sympathetic to the individual needs of both residents and relatives.

The staff are professional and very caring. They have worked hard to ensure that residents were kept safe during covid, whilst still maintaining contact with relatives. My dad enjoyed the many activities on offer. The home is very clean and well cared for and the staff are very approachable. Dad was
well looked after by caring people who went over and above to make sure he was happy. Many, many thanks from our family.

Following a couple of falls and ill-health, my Dad moved from his home 100 miles away to live at Townend Close Care Home. He settled in straight away, thanks to the professional and caring staff at Townend. He is treated with dignity and I feel that we could not have found a better place for my Dad
to live. He enjoys all of his meals and the friendliness of the staff is really appreciated by him. They have worked tirelessly to care for and protect the residents during the current Covid-19 pandemic. His only regret is that he didn’t move there earlier. I would highly recommend Townend Close.

I feel that the staff at Townend Close are very caring and professional. They have done a fantastic job during this pandemic. Yes, it has been hard not seeing residents, but it has been for their own good. We have been able to visit by talking through a window, I know it isn’t the same, but it is better
than nothing.
It is always clean and you are made to feel welcome. There are plenty of activities going on, and there is a lovely garden area where residents and family can sit to chat.

My father was resident firstly in the self-care part, and then for the last year of his life in nursing care. He was a much-decorated war hero, having joined the Black Watch in 1940 aged 15, and was one of only two left alive in Yorkshire with the Légion d'honneur, France's highest honour, now there
is only one. He deserved the best in respect and care - and that's exactly what he got.

Generally speaking, I like Townend Close as it's clean and the staff seem friendly and helpful. My dad, however, frets that his door is unlocked and anyone could wander in when he is not in his room. He has nothing of financial value but has items of sentimental value which I would hate to go missing.
We have often visited him, gone to his room whilst he is downstairs and got his coat etc to take him out and not seen a single member of staff. I should like the door to be locked with a code number to enter or someone to answer the door.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and we are pleased that you rate our overall standard as good. All our residents are provided with a key to their bedroom door when they move in so they can lock their door as they wish. We’d be happy to provide another key if this is not the case. Our main entrance door does have a key pad lock but this is not activated between 8am and 4pm to enable our residents to sit outside and visitors to be easily admitted. This is usually explained to residents and families when viewing Townend Close. I would be happy to discuss this further at a mutually convenient time.

After my husband's father died over 11 years ago, my Mother in law became very depressed and isolated.
Eventually, we managed to get her to agree to look into care.
We eventually decided on Townend Close and she has never looked back.
She is a changed woman, and we have a mum, mother in law and grandmother
back in our lives.
The staff are simply the best. She receives lovely meals and is looked after in a warm and bright, well-decorated accommodation. The activities are many, from a Crufts afternoon, canal trips, zoo animals visiting to name a few.
The manager of Townend Close is always around and her staff under her are all hard working and cheerful.
The administrator is always willing to do anything for you.
We can't thank the staff enough for all the hard work, over the last year and a half.
It has proved to us all you need is love, care, warm surroundings and good food, to ensure a healthy mind and wellbeing.
Thank you so much from us all.

My father has been in Townend Close for 5 months following the death of my Mum. Dad has complex health problems. The standard of care towards Dad is outstanding. The staff are kind, considerate and treat Dad with dignity at all times. Housekeeping is good. The menu and food are very good, especially
with Dad's good appetite. The daily events and evening entertainment programme, the family feel are fantastic. Dad is well looked after and happy and that makes us happy at what had been a difficult time for our family. Thank you!

This was the second visit for a one week respite. The week went very well as now knowing the staff and routine felt much better and relaxed.
Enjoyed most of the activities with the staff. I was treated as a human and not patronised.

The ambience of Townend Close is just right - professional yet homely. The staff are kind and considerate to the residents and welcoming and helpful to visitors.
The standard of rooms and furnishings are excellent - well designed with suitable chairs with good support.
It is helpful to have the
handrails along the corridors and seats dotted around for residents to have a rest on their way around. The food is good and wholesome. We could not have found a better home. Thank you.

We are so glad that our father was able to spend the last part of his journey in such a special place.
It gave us great peace of mind to know that Dad was so well cared for and treated with such love and respect.
We were overwhelmed with the support and kindness he was shown in his final days and
