Ivy Lodge “where you feel at home… not in a home”: This is a motto at the heart of the home’s philosophy. A caring team understand how worrying and stressful it can be to move into a new home but they work with residents and their families to help them settle in whilst at the same time encouraging them to lead an independent life around the dignified, compassionate and person centred care provided.

Ivy Lodge is a long established, family owned and run retirement home. Formerly an Edwardian farm house, the building has undergone extensive development and has been recently refurbished to provide light, spacious and comfortable accommodation of a very high standard.

A warm, dedicated and long serving team of carers are totally committed to the well-being of residents and actively encourage and help them to lead full and independent lives.

Carers ensure a full range of stimulating activities is provided from crafts classes and sing-alongs to theatre trips and excursions to local places of interest.

A dedicated GP from the local surgery conducts a regular surgery within the home and both Chiropodists and opticians visit regularly.

The kitchen provides delicious food with the emphasis on traditional cooking and home baking using the best seasonal produce available.

My auntie has been a resident for over six years. She settled in straight away. I see her regularly and have never heard her complain bout anything. Always seems happy and joins in with the good and varied activities. Enjoys the trips out with the other residents. Nothing seems too much trouble for
staff/management who are always friendly and helpful.

I was having carers at home for half an hour daily but after a bad fall needed more help so came to Ivy Lodge on trial. I have now been here from November 2022 to April 2024. The overall service is very good. The hard-working and friendly staff are led by the owners who are seen around much of the time.
Wonderful birthday cakes for each resident are made, each decorated with their interests in icing. Nutritious meals home cooked are provided three times a day. We are very well cared for.

The best and most important thing about Ivy Lodge is its staff. Ivy Lodge had been recommended to me by several people but it has exceeded my expectations. All the staff are incredibly kind and caring. Mum is exceptionally well cared for and always treated with respect. Access to a GP is easy. There
is always something going on and if mum doesn't like what is on the menu the kitchen staff will find an alternative. I can't fault Ivy Lodge.

We are delighted with the care mom is given. She is the happiest she has been in years. The staff are so lovely and the entertainment is fantastic. The food and refreshments go down a treat.

I could not be happier with the care given to my mum. The staff from top to bottom are exceptional, always a smile and eager to help. It is very homely and comfortable and I have peace of mind that my mum is well looked after.

Ivy Lodge is a very good residential home. We are well looked after and the entertainment is good, generally trips out. The food is excellent. The staff are cheerful and very happy. The home is always clean. Everyone is friendly.

My mum has been at Ivy Lodge for a year, and from day one, she has loved living there. With the help of all the staff, Mum settled very quickly and enjoys all the facilities and activities they provide. Every time I leave Mum, I ask her if she is happy, and she always replies, "who wouldn't be happy
here; it's brilliant".
From my point of view, I am totally reassured that Mum is in a safe, caring place, and I know she is being well looked after,

I was looking for a care home for my mum, and from the moment that I began talking to Ivy Lodge, I knew that she would enjoy staying there. The staff have a great attitude towards all the residents, looking after them with care and dignity. Since moving in, my mum has told me how much she loves the
community feeling and all the activities that are planned for the residents. She also tells me that the food is fantastic, and the care she receives is first-class.

Over the last 9 months that my mum has resided at Ivy Lodge, they have consistently provided excellent service. Mum is a fussy individual, and to keep her happy, they must be doing it right! I can not praise them enough, and in particular, Mum is always complimentary about the quality of the food! So
if you want peace of mind that your relative or friend will be well cared for, then look no further than Ivy Lodge.

My mum has been at Ivy Lodge for some 6-plus months, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Staff have gone that extra mile to help her settle and thrive in her new environment (she, herself, calls it home) and tells me practically every time I see her how happy she is there and how
kind the staff are.
She joins in with the various daily activities, and never do the staff miss an opportunity to hold a party or event for residents to enjoy and participate in.
The environment is warm, homely and accessible for her and Mum has been helped to create her own personalised space in her bedroom.
I have been most impressed with how she now feels safe; the move has increased not decreased her mobility and independence.

My dad has now been in the care of Ivy Lodge for just over a year now. Being the only man at the time at the home, we weren’t sure if Dad would settle ok. We needn’t worry. The owners and staff are second to none. Every day they have something different/activities going on; it’s great to see them on
our regular updates on Ivy Lodge web page, singing, dancing or doing craftwork.
Covid was especially difficult for any care home, but their strong dedication to the welfare of the residents and staff meant that we were able to see our loved ones safely, and the home filled a strict Covid procedure at all times.
A big thank you once again for all the love, care and support you give to my dad.

Ivy Lodge is very much a home from home. The owners and staff are some of the most caring and friendly people that I have ever met. The home always has something going on, be it carpet bowls, movement to music or craft activities. There never seems to be a dull moment. I have heard that the food is
pretty good too, and they certainly throw a good Birthday party!

I have been delighted by the care the home has shown my mum since she moved there in February 22. From the moment I entered Ivy Lodge, I was struck by the friendliness, welcome and care for detail that I encountered. The complexity of having to move from Nottingham after 70-years, during a period of
Covid, was sensitively dealt with and was much appreciated. I feel that the staff are really trying to get to know Mum and her needs on an individual level. Everyone always seems so incredibly friendly and cheerful, even when faced with such difficult pressures at the present time. The management of the home is excellent and well established whilst the owners are welcoming and play an important role in the varied activity programme that Mum has really started to enjoy and appreciate. All individuals, from the carers to the cook, are just lovely! Everyone seems to genuinely care. To have her so close and well looked after has made such a difference in my life. Thank you.

After spending respite at Ivy Lodge, my 93-year-old mum is now a permanent resident. I, myself, am a qualified nurse, having varying experience with residential care homes. I cannot praise the complete team enough for creating such a loving, caring environment. A varied nutritional menu is offered with
flexibility for each individual. A wide programme of activities and events is available, but with plenty of quiet, rest periods. The residents look well cared for and very presentable.
There are no negative odours when entering Ivy Lodge, which speaks for itself. The interior and exterior are very well presented with loving care. My mum can and does thank her lucky stars that she is "at home" in Ivy Lodge.
It would be my personal choice any day.
Well done to the whole team for creating a unique, caring, homely establishment.

I have worked in the social care sector (in a different authority) for almost 40 years so know a good place when I see one and would have no hesitation in recommending Ivy Lodge. It is without doubt an exemplary place to live. Despite the difficulties posed by Covid the whole place still ran like clockwork
and we were kept informed of all developments - The owners and managers are present on a daily basis, and 'muck in' when they need to so are fully aware of the needs of every resident.
The home and grounds at Ivy Lodge are immaculate and well maintained. It is obvious that a great deal of finance is ploughed into the business to keep things at such a high standard.
The care itself is of the highest quality and delivered with great compassion and understanding.
I am fully aware that my mother could be difficult to deal with but at all times she was treated with care and respect by very patient and professional staff.
I hope when my turn comes I can find somewhere like Ivy Lodge.

My mum moved into Ivy Lodge in February 2020 just before Covid restrictions. The care our mum has received has been second to none. Having watched the videos and pictures of all the in house activities and entertainment arranged and carried out by the staff, totally brilliant! Ivy Lodge has managed
Mum's health extremely well and has also been able to help her gain weight which she desperately needed. We cannot praise everyone at Ivy Lodge enough for the outstanding level of care.
