Springvale Court is located in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead, on the site of the former Miners' Welfare Club, close to local shops and public transport links. It is a purpose built care home providing personalised residential and expert dementia care.

Sensitive care is delivered to those living with dementia in specialised Memory Lane Communities; designs within the home help people experiencing dementia to make sense of their surroundings through features such as sensory gardens, memory-prompting curios and rummage drawers - designed to engage people's attention and interest.

Residents have access to many on-site facilities including a hair and beauty salon and residents' garden, and those who live at the home are encouraged to partake in the many daily activities that are offered throughout the home and beyond. Typical activities including baking, craft sessions, music therapy and day trips.

The menu is varied and seasonally tailored. Food is freshly prepared by an excellent team of chefs, ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met and that they enjoy a variety of dishes.

The care my mother-in-law receives from here is second to none, staff do an amazing job, especially under the trying times of Covid. They have kept families updated throughout and are always happy for you to ring and talk to your loved ones, the garden visits are a success with great social distance
in place to protect the residents. Can not thank them enough for the care my mother-in-law receives.

I would highly recommend Springvale Court to anyone looking for their loved ones to be cared for. The management and staff have not only cared for and respected our father but also have been amazing towards us as a family. Nothing is a bother. The dedication and hard work the staff has shown my father
has been unreal. Also, I must add this care home is immaculate. I will never be able to thank Springvale Court enough. The dedication of the full team has been outstanding.

Early days as yet. Mam has only been a resident in this care home for five weeks. Food is significantly better than in her previous home. Care levels seem OK to date. Staff are friendly and helpful. The residents don't seem to get adequate showers as I think that it should be once a week minimum (although
I believe that they are regularly washed all over with a flannel).

Myself, partner and family were very happy knowing our Father was going to be a resident at Springvale Court Care Home. We were extremely happy with the care and support he received whilst staying at this home. We could see how happy and content he was on every visit. Dad was enjoying all the delicious
meals that were on offer at every meal time and staff informed us he was eating very well. The home and interior surroundings were always clean and tidy. Staff and management were always friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem, always happy to help.

My mam has been at Springvale Court for 5 years. She is really well looked after, the staff are good with her because she can be a tyrant at times.

My aunt has been extremely well cared for since her admission. We find staff are friendly, caring and have a positive outlook. Our care review was well conducted and various points taken on board.
Further - communication with my aunt's condition is very good and immediate to keep us appropriately

The home itself gives off a pleasant atmosphere. Very friendly staff and residents, nice aroma too!


The meals are great with lots of choice and cater for anyone with allergies, dislikes etc.

The senior carer we saw listened to everything we said and I felt she knew everything about our aunt, she gave us recommendations. We had plenty of time and wasn't rushed at all. We felt very happy about the level of care our aunt receives.
