Springvale Court is located in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead, on the site of the former Miners' Welfare Club, close to local shops and public transport links. It is a purpose built care home providing personalised residential and expert dementia care.

Sensitive care is delivered to those living with dementia in specialised Memory Lane Communities; designs within the home help people experiencing dementia to make sense of their surroundings through features such as sensory gardens, memory-prompting curios and rummage drawers - designed to engage people's attention and interest.

Residents have access to many on-site facilities including a hair and beauty salon and residents' garden, and those who live at the home are encouraged to partake in the many daily activities that are offered throughout the home and beyond. Typical activities including baking, craft sessions, music therapy and day trips.

The menu is varied and seasonally tailored. Food is freshly prepared by an excellent team of chefs, ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met and that they enjoy a variety of dishes.

My grandad has been in 1 week and has received excellent care. We are all very happy that Grandad has settled in and seems very happy. We are always made to feel so welcome to be here.

I find Springvale Court a very pleasant place to visit. Staff are always pleasant and willing to help you if you have any concerns. Mam seems very comfortable here and I have peace of mind.

So impressed with all needs cared for. Has a lovely, happy vibe and management and staff are great. From the initial visit, they were so welcoming and informative. All staff are so pleasant and nothing is too much bother for them. Have seen so much improvement in my brother since his arrival, he is
well cared for and likes the staff and his very pleasant room and food. He gets involved with all activities and outings and enjoys them very much, he says they are so good to him. Couldn't be in a better place.

Generally staff are lovely, however, they can be dismissive when suggestions around care are made. My grandmother is always well dressed and looks well cared for, however, it's evident, her hair isn't always brushed. Meal options are well amended to my nanas taste so she is never left hungry - cleaners
could make more of an effort to have a 'general tidy round' of her room as mouldy fruit was found in the fruit bowl ready to eat.. loads of activities for my nan to get involved in.
