My dad has been a resident since September 2020. It has been very difficult not being able to see dad during lockdown but I would like to praise the staff for the care they have given to him. Whenever I have rung the home, the staff have always been polite, kind and helpful, updating me on dad’s health
and well being. The manager is extremely approachable and always available to answer any queries. It is clear that the residents' well being and happiness is at the core of what she does. She has lately been great at organising regular visits now that they are allowed again. I am very grateful to the caring team who work there for giving me peace of mind that my dad is being well cared for during these difficult times.

I moved to this home in September and from day one I have been looked after really well. They have made me feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble they take care of all of my needs. This past year has been hard as I haven’t been able to see my family just like everyone else in the home but all the
staff have done their best and kept morale up amongst the residents. I liked to praise a member of staff who works in the office for going out of her way to help me with a problem that I had which was much appreciated, she is a star and that goes for the rest of the team. I hope to have many happy years to come living in this care home.

My father has been a resident at Orchard Mews for 12 months. During this time he has received first-class care from the manager and her team of caring, compassionate, and dedicated staff. Lockdown has presented many challenges for the home, residents and families. Throughout this time I have stayed
in touch with my father by phone and garden visits which were a great success. My father is doing very well and remains in good spirits. I have been kept updated by letter and telephone calls from the manager, which is greatly appreciated. It is a huge relief to know my father is safe, well and receiving fantastic care at Orchard Mews which has a lovely, homely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

My family and I would like to commend this care home. The staff and care is absolutely outstanding. These last few months have been challenging, as it has for all the residents and staff, but it has been particularly challenging for my grandfather. Reasons being that there is a language barrier. Normally,
there would be family visiting every day but obviously, Covid hasn't allowed this to happen. Despite all this, the leadership and the staff have been absolutely supportive. They have kept us updated with how Grandad is, and have sent lots of fab pictures of him throughout the day. This has been to keep us assured that Grandad is settled and being cared for well by the excellent team! We, as a family would like to say a truly 'massive' thanks to the excellent team (and leadership) of the care home. They demonstrate compassion and empathy and despite the communication barriers, they do everything to keep my Grandad settled and content. You're all amazing and should all be very proud.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Orchard Mews Care Home. My mam has been a resident there for 18 months. She is well looked after and kept clean safe and warm, which is all we can ask for especially in these difficult times. Her room is situated on the ground floor so our
family have been lucky as we've been able to see mam through her window which gave us peace of mind. Nothing has been a problem for the staff when we have rung and asked for an update on mam or to speak with her on the phone. The manager and all the staff deserve all the praise for looking after our loved ones and keeping them safe.

My father-in-law came to Orchard Mews during the first lockdown. I am so grateful for the care he has received from the manager and the team.
It's hard not being able to visit him but when we have been able to its been lovely to see how settled he is and the interaction with the staff.
I wouldn't
hesitate to recommend Orchard Mews.

My Brother moved here in September. The staff are fantastic, really friendly. I can honestly say that he is well looked after and my brother is a lot happier which puts my mind at ease. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they treat my brother as one of their family. I think they're doing a great
job in these uncertain times. I would highly recommend this Care Home to friends and family.

Orchard Mews staff have worked really hard during this difficult time with Covid. They have risen to the challenge of keeping all our relatives safe and well looked after. It takes a special group of people to look after those that need significant support and exhibit challenging behaviours at times.
Keeping them all occupied and entertained during lockdown will have been an enormous task.
Coping with all the extra demands associated with Covid restrictions, wearing of PPE, Covid tests and isolating have all been factors that staff have had to deal with to keep our relatives safe and cared for.
I have only seen my father once since March 2020, due to Covid, but I do feel confident that he is being very well looked after by the whole team. Thank you.

My mother died at the age of 92, comfortably and peacefully. During the last years of her life she was cared for by the incredible staff of Orchard Mews, who kept her nourished, healthy and happy. Every interaction with the staff which I had left me with the impression that they were not employees...that
would be an insult. It was easy to see that they genuinely cared about the people they looked after and always went the extra mile to demonstrate their vocation and devotion to their profession. I can only offer my sincere gratitude for their kindness and love to my mother. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Orchard Mews staff look after my mother as if she is their mother, they laugh with her keeping her spirits up and give fantastic care and support at all times. I have no problem in recommending Orchard Mews Care Home to friends, family and anyone else who may need excellent care in the future.

My mum came into this home after having three hip operations needing nursing care. Mum has Alzheimer's, and she has always been treated with kindness, courtesy, dignity and love. We have always been given a warm welcome when we visited mum, before Covid. The atmosphere at the home is friendly and caring.
I always feel that the carers treat mum as if she were their mum or grandma; I can't ask for any more.

My mam is a resident at Orchard Mews. I have not seen her for a couple of months with the Coronavirus but I am very grateful to all the staff for their hard work. When I ring up to ask about her they sometimes put her on the phone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

My mum has been in Orchard Mews since November 2019. She came to the care home after 3 hip operations and needed to have both nursing and care. I have nothing but praise for this care home. The staff and manager go up and beyond for all the residents in their care. Since this awful pandemic myself and
my 2 sisters have not seen our mum for 5 months but today I have been able to go in and see her in her room. Was a very emotional time for both myself and my mum who has Alzheimers. Even though my other sisters couldn't be there as I am the nominated one to go in just telling them over the phone how well Mum looked has made them very happy I thank all the staff again for their kindness in making this happen. They have looked after Mum so well given her hugs when needed and keeping all the residents happy and content. HC1 should be very proud of all their staff at Orchard Mews.

My mum has been a resident in Orchard Mews for the last few years and I am writing this review to acknowledge the excellent care she has been given during this period at this time as coronavirus is very worrying especially for older people. The staff at Orchard Mews have gone above and beyond what is
expected, they stopped all but essential visiting before the government lockdown in an effort to keep everyone safe and have kept us informed during the whole time. Placing a parent in care is a very difficult decision but I can honestly say the homely atmosphere provided by staff make this a very special place. Thank you Orchard Mews.

My mam has been in the care of the Orchard Mews Team for six years and it has been remiss of me to not have left a review before now, as all of the Team deserve a huge Thank You!
Mam joined the residents at Orchard Mews when, not only her Dementia was severe, but she had also broken her hip. She was
in a very bad way and at a very low ebb. Over the months and years since then, the Management and nursing Team have not only helped her recover physically but made her life comfortable and safe within a very caring environment. The whole team from management, nursing and care, to the catering crew have added huge value to Mams life.
It is always an emotional time when I visit Mam but I am always met with a warm friendly smile and the all important offer of 'a cup of tea'.
Now in these very uncertain times of COVID-19, I know Mam is in the very best place she could be and under the best care.
Again, a massive thank you to you all working at Orchard Mews!
