Philip Cussins House in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is a care home that gives everyone the chance to have a relaxing and entertaining home.

Delighted with the care and attention given to my husband. He went into Philip Cussins House as an emergency as I had to go into hospital suddenly. He was at once very happy, contented, very relaxed and well cared for and given much love by each member of staff.

I came to Philip Cussins House on emergency respite and in a bad way. Thanks to the care and support from everyone, I am a very different person. Encouragement is unlimited. If I had not come here I am not sure I would have survived my trauma. I still have some way to go but I have no doubt I will get
there with their help as they have, and are, everything I so badly need.

Excellent care and attention from the whole team. Offering good facilities and varied activities. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are attentive, caring and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble and we could not have asked for more support in helping mam to accept and settle
into residential care.
It is a lovely home and very well managed. We have no hesitation is recommending it to others.

A couple of months ago when the previous manager was there, I would have advised everyone to avoid this home as it was horrible, miserable, dirty and the manager was the most unapproachable person I have ever come across.
Now, however, since the new manager and her deputy have been there, things have
certainly changed for the best. The staff and residents are always smiling, they are happy, the home is much cleaner and the new manager and deputy are lovely. You can turn up unannounced and the office door is always open, (unlike when the previous manager was there) and they will always make time for you. You are always offered a drink and food, nothing is too much trouble for them and the rest of the staff now.
Very pleased with how they looked after my mother in law these last few months.

My mother became a resident at Philip Cussins House at the beginning of July. My Mum is blind and has early stages of dementia and is not very mobile.
From the first time we visited the home to look around, we realised that it had a whole different feel to it. The home is small with only around 20
residents and it very much has the feel of a private house. The staff have all been there for many years and are really committed to the home and to providing a high level of care. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and there is a lot going on every day.
The home is not smart but it is very clean and homely and the care is wonderful, we spoke with several residents who all praised the staff and the home. My Mum is settling in and is getting used to her new environment, it isn't easy but we feel we have good communication with the staff and they are doing everything they can to help my Mum. The staff are warm and compassionate but are also fun and they have a joke with the residents.

My two very dear lady friends are always clean and tidy, with clean clothes and good food and have hair set and nails painted and mostly have a carer when they call who comes within 5 minutes during daytime but much less at night.

This home is lovely. The atmosphere friendly and extremely loving and caring. The home is spotlessly clean, never smells bad. The food is top rate served in a beautiful dining room. My Mum and all the residents are both physically and socially are met. Lots of activities and outings and birthday parties.
Gorgeous staff - would highly recommend.

This is a small and very caring home. The people who run the activities are lovely and there is also a range of activities in nearby church halls. The staff know the residents well and are open and friendly. The care is of a high standard, my mother always comments on how good it is. The home really
does welcome people of all faiths and none. The location is excellent it took us a while to choose a care home for my mother and I am so glad we decided on this one.
