The team is passionate about enabling residents to live a fulfilling life doing the things they enjoy or trying something new. They spend time getting to know your loved one as an individual, understanding how they like to spend their time, the foods they enjoy and their aims for the future.

Residents can enjoy some down time in the landscaped gardens or shared spaces inside the home. The lifestyle team are always organising fun and interesting activities, including trips out to the North Sea coast in the warmer months.

My mam has been well looked after in Cheviot Court Care Home. Carers are excellent. I have been kept up to date with everything and I can ring the home with confidence to find out anything about my mam. Carers are very approachable and before Covid, activities were brilliant which I, myself, went to.

The staff at Cheviot Court are amazing! The care they provide is second to none. My mother resides on the top floor, and she is cared for as if she were their own. All of our family enjoy going into the home, and we are always met with a friendly smile and a chat. We feel our mother is very lucky to

When visiting Cheviot Court Care Home I find the staff, office and carers all very helpful. My relative finds the staff very kind. Because of Covid, I have not been in the home but I know my relative has her own room with everything she needs. Her medical requirements are always dealt with. I know there
are activities too which is so good. The building and gardens too always look so nice.

When full-time care became a necessity for my cousin we were very apprehensive about how well her needs would be met. From the initial meeting throughout a very difficult time of Covid-19, we found the care provided to be unfailingly compassionate and appropriately targeted to meet her complex needs.
The staff are always helpful, feedback on her daily routine showed she is being well cared for and is happy.
Since being able to take my cousin out, we can see how well she is in herself and how much detail as her personal appearance is given consideration. My cousin is happy, healthy and settled - it's great.
Due to pandemic - not able to comment on rooms, facilities and activities.

Mam has been a resident of Cheviot Court for 2 1/2 years. The whole staff team work together to ensure Mam is well looked after. They are caring and know their residents well. Friends and family are always welcomed and there is an interesting programme of activities and outings. Cheviot Court is modern,

Lovely warm, comfortable sitting areas. Residents are unable to concentrate on television programmes. Old-time music hall tunes could be played more. I have only once witnessed communal activity - passing and catching a soft ball or balloon. More stimulus like this needed. More help could be given to
help residents drink their morning tea - many asleep and don't realise their drinks are there. Carers spend a lot of time on computers.

We have a lifestyle team who provide an engaging daily programme of activities, such as Knit and Natter, bingo, quizzes, seated exercise and live entertainment, as well as one to one time with residents. However, we always welcome new ideas. Carers use the computer to update residents care plans and notes each day, as required by legislation, and occasionally new carers who have to do computer learning.

As a daughter, I need to know that my mother is safe, clean, well cared for, treated with kindness and dignity, listened to and respected. All the staff are friendly and nothing is a problem for them. All my Mam's care needs are met with both dignity and respect. Staff take time to speak and include my Mam in their day. My family and I feel Cheviot Court care home is wonderful. The staff and facilities are amazing. Trips to the theatre and tea dances. Live music and shows. After visiting several care homes this is by far the best.

Joined: 2010

I’ve worked at Cheviot Court since 2004, and became the home’s manager in 2010. I started as a domestic and worked my way up.
I really like that we’re one big family in this home – residents and colleagues alike. We look out for each other, and support each other – just like families do.
I’m proud of the hardworking team here at Cheviot Court. We aim to achieve the highest standards in all areas of the home’s life. I believe in supporting my team to do their best work and fulfil their potential, because, when they’re happy, residents are happy.
Residents at Cheviot Court have choice and freedom. They decide how they live their life and what they do each day. We aim to make everything resident-led.
It’s an effective approach. When I see residents enjoying an activity, chatting together over lunch, or happy at the end of the day, I know we’ve got it right.
