We had already heard from friends who have had relatives in Cheviot Court that it is an exceptional care home, so our expectations were already high. We have not been disappointed. Mam is getting the very best of care from a caring/committed team who work together to provide a safe, comfortable and
engaging environment for the residents. Staff are also very supportive of residents' family, we have been very aware of this as Mam has been settling into her new home.

Having my mother-in-law in Cheviot Court, I think the rooms and decor are very pleasing, always clean and well kept. The staff are always very polite and very professional and caring. My father-in-law was in for respite, the care and help was very good. The only downfall was the food, for the amount
of money paid food was not up to standard.

When looking for a care home for our mother we were recommended Cheviot Court. Our visit was so welcoming from the management team to meeting the care staff. We always feel welcome when we visit our mother, the staff are great and we are kept well informed of mam's well-being. The staff work very hard
to maintain a very high standard of care and we as a family would have no hesitation in recommending Cheviot Court to others.

Cheviot Court is a very well run care home. The manager and administrator are always available to talk and discuss anything with you. They are always cheerful and join in all the events.
The care staff are excellent, even though their patience can be stretched to the limit with the individual demands
of each resident. The food is very good and all the staff try to understand the needs of individual residents. The activity coordinator works very hard to provide a variety of entertainment and activities.
All staff are very stretched at all times noticeably on weekends.
Entertainment at a weekend would be nice but it all adds to the cost.

As always the care and standard are A1. Very professional with a warm and friendly approach. My mother has lived at Cheviot Court for over five years and has been very happy. Relatives are encouraged to join in any activities and outings.

My mum went into Cheviot Court in June 2016 after being looked after at home by dad and family. We chose Cheviot Court following a visit we did in April 201 as it was warm, friendly and run by professional and caring staff. To date, we have not been disappointed by the care our mum has had and all the
activities organised to stimulate and get mum involved. Mum is very settled has good and bad days depending on her dementia, but we can walk in and out knowing that she is being cared for in a wonderful environment.

Joined: 2010

I’ve worked at Cheviot Court since 2004, and became the home’s manager in 2010. I started as a domestic and worked my way up.
I really like that we’re one big family in this home – residents and colleagues alike. We look out for each other, and support each other – just like families do.
I’m proud of the hardworking team here at Cheviot Court. We aim to achieve the highest standards in all areas of the home’s life. I believe in supporting my team to do their best work and fulfil their potential, because, when they’re happy, residents are happy.
Residents at Cheviot Court have choice and freedom. They decide how they live their life and what they do each day. We aim to make everything resident-led.
It’s an effective approach. When I see residents enjoying an activity, chatting together over lunch, or happy at the end of the day, I know we’ve got it right.
