My sister has been cared for in Archers Park for over a year now and I have always found the staff very helpful and caring. Nothing is a problem for them. Overall, it's a pleasant place for both residents and visitors and I would highly recommend it.

My mother in law has settled in your care home with ease.
It's because your staff, I mean all of them, have been so helpful and pleasant from day one.
I couldn't have imagined that at first as I was as nervous as my mother in law about her future.
Thank you to each and every member of staff for their
caring nature, it is a pleasure to see them work with their patients the way they do.

Dad has been in Archers Park around two months now after a brief spell in hospital, with a water infection. This reoccurred whilst in care but was quickly sorted by the home staff and their local GP. Dad has settled in well now and is very well looked after by all staff, with nice clean facilities and
friendly atmosphere.

One of the things I like about Archers Park is the staff. There doesn't seem to be a high turnover of staff. When we visit and we go several times a week, the same staff are there. This is very good for the residents well being, seeing the same people who care for them. There is always something going
on in the home, entertainment nights, fetes and Christmas fayres. There are several rooms for residents to relax in, watch telly, listen to music or chat with their family. A new decking has just been added to the home and this will be lovely for the residents in the summer. A lovely home!

Thank you very much for your review. It is so lovely to hear that you are happy with the staff and the home itself. I do agree that to have the same staff members looking after the residents is very reassuring for them. It is so nice to know that your relative can find somewhere to relax either with fellow residents or on their own.
Thank you again.
Best wishes.

Since my father-in-law went to be a resident in the home. I have nothing but admiration for the staff and the running of the home. We as his family are always kept informed of his welfare and they show real compassion towards him, he is always fed and cared for and above all is happy.

My parents moved into this home in March after my mum was sectioned and dad was in ill health. The staff bent over backwards for their needs. Sadly dad passed away in May. Since then, the care my mum has had has been excellent and we as a family have no complaints. The staff are lovely with her and
she trusts them as do we. I was able to visit Beamish Museum with her which was a lovely day out for everyone. I don't worry about her at all knowing she is being cared for. The staff keeps us up to date with what is going on in the home and with my mum.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.725)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.725) out of 10 for Archers Park Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.925 for Archers Park Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.925

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Archers Park Dementia Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
