Mum has only been in Archers Court for 6 weeks. However from day one, she has been treated with nothing but tender loving care, nothing is too much trouble or bother for any member of staff. That goes right across the board, no matter who you talk to, everyone is only willing to help and assist in any
way possible.

Staff work hard and are welcoming to residents and their families. They try to form a bond with residents. Covid testing of visitors appeared lax as there was very little evidence of staff present to ensure tests were carried out and documented accurately.

I have not seen any activities going on, except the open day where there was a singer and the residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't one of them as she had been told there wasn't a wheelchair she could use. I know she can walk but is not confident to go any distance.
Her reaction to the staff is some are always unpleasant while others are kind and helpful. She lost her confidence after several falls at home and would appreciate more support when moving about.

My brother has seemed to settle well after spending a month in hospital prior to going into the home. From the beginning all the staff have been very approachable, helping his family through these difficult times. Carers and domiciliary understand his illness and they have a warm and friendly manner
towards him. We hope to have our brother remain here as long as possible.

Since the appointment of a new manager, there has been a real positivity around Archers Court. Staff looking happy, conversing with relatives in a positive and professional manner. Activities have positively increased which my mother-in-law enjoys a lot. Residents are treated as individuals with the
staff clearly aware that they work in the residents' homes. Long may it continue.

My Aunty had respite at this home, we were reassured from the first meeting with the manager and deputy manager. The care and support shown from both of them and the fabulous carers was second to none. The cleanliness of the home is excellent. My Aunty was so happy while she stayed there and I would

The past months have been an extremely testing time for care home staff. In difficult circumstances, the staff at Archers Court have always been highly professional, extremely friendly, and dedicated to their work. Their support has been vital to help my mam through this period and it is very much appreciated.

Was very apprehensive to put my Aunt into any home as she is 78 years old with learning disabilities and slight onset of dementia. Archers Court was recommended and after weeks of putting off, we decided to put her in for 5 days respite. I should have done this years ago, she loved it, the staff were
amazing, the management team were fantastic. I would definitely recommend.

My mother has been in this care home for a short period of time following her discharge from the hospital.
In that time she has had a fall which I was advised of, however, the extent of her injuries was incorrectly reported to me and a small cut to her arm was discovered to be a black eye.
In addition,
her personal belongings have “gone missing” nightdresses, underwear and towel.
The most shocking thing is her purse containing cash is also missing.
I have tried repeatedly to speak to the manager, left messages etc and today like many other days the phone has a recorded message that no one is available to answer.
On Mother’s Day, my mother did not receive her gifts and cards until I rang in the late afternoon to ask where they were. I was spoken to in a very rude unprofessional manner by a member of staff however my mother did receive her gifts by late afternoon.
I have voiced my concerns to social services but as theft appears to have taken place I will be informing the police and the CQC.

My Father was a resident for around 18 months and the care and attention he received from the carers was brilliant.
Unfortunately, Dad died on 12/1/21 and the response from management was deplorable.
I received a call during the night from the nurse who was lovely advising me that Dad had passed.
We
received no contact afterwards offering condolences and have since had one or two issues such as repayment of money held on account which was to cover incidentals like chiropodist despite being told we would receive a cheque, two months later and it is still outstanding.
I am disappointed with the lack of compassion and don’t think it is acceptable to simply blame everything on Covid-19.

First of all this review is based on the handling of the passing of my mam at Archers Court. On Dec 11th my mam was discharged from hospital into the care of Archers Court. Due to covid restrictions, I wasn't allowed to visit until Boxing Day. I was overjoyed to visit as I hadn't seen my mam since October.
My visit was 30 minutes. I phoned daily and was told my mam was not doing very well. On the 30th Dec early evening, I received a phone call telling me my mam was not responding very well and could I go to see my mam. On arriving I was told I had 30 mins. My mam was in a bad way but responded by moving her head when I spoke. I Facetimed family members, I was the only one allowed to visit, to say their goodbyes. The nurse began to let me know my time was up. What harm was I doing? I was in the room, the door was closed and I wasn't interacting with anyone. Where is the compassion? I sobbed as I left my mam taking her dying breaths. Arriving home the phone rang, my mam had passed. No condolences.

My husband is in this care home and all managers and carers are brilliant. I think they are all amazing very pleasant. Nothing is primal to them, they do a lot to entertain the residents, they do everything to look after the residents and their families that visit the home. The home is spotlessly clean.
All of them should be given a medal.

Staff have always treated my relative with care and respect but recently her condition has changed and she has become more forgetful. Staff have taken this into account and are increasingly careful and mindful of her needs.

My mother has been in Archers Court for just over a year and has received nothing but 'first-rate' care and support. She is completely settled and accepting of support and activities which enhance her daily experiences. She declines any opportunity to leave the home, preferring to stay where she feels
safe and secure. We are indebted to the staff for the quality of care and respect shown to my mother.

Home is lovely, very homely, staff helpful and an all-round good team. The manager always around and insight of visitors, very pleasant and passes the time of day with everyone she meets. Mam very happy and loves the staff. Rooms well kept and clean and tidy.
