I originally enquired about Dad being a day visitor, but after a fall he was lucky to move into Princess House to continue his recovery. Dad has adapted well and is enjoying the excellent care and attention he receives. From the amazing housekeeping duo, friendly chefs who are always happy to make Dad's
favourite and chat about football to the exceptional care and tenderness provided by the carers. Life at Princess House feels like being part of an extended family and I am delighted Dad is receiving the best care and support possible.

My mam moved into Princess House and absolutely loves it. I was obviously anxious about the whole process but the manager has been amazing and I couldn’t be happier.
Keep up the good work manager and the team!

My Aunt moved to Princess House 3 and a half years ago. The standard of care she received was excellent, the staff supported her with anything she needed. Every member of staff made the effort and often went above and beyond their role to ensure that my Aunt was happy. They would spend time with my
Aunt sharing memories using her photo albums. She was a very private person and did find it hard to mix with others, but due to the patience and kindness of the team, eventually started to mix, which was a big thing for her. The care didn't stop there they also supported myself and family, when we couldn't visit due to Covid and shielding, keeping us fully informed of how my Aunt was, and if she needed items they helped with her shopping. The team are like an extension of your own family, so credit to them all, they ensured my Aunt was safe during very difficult times until she sadly passed away. They were there for us all, we will never forget that. So a huge thank you to you all

Our mum passed away recently after living in The Princess House for the last 4-years. We want to share how fantastic the care is there. It is a family-run home, and all the staff really do feel like one big family working together to make a safe, caring and homely environment for the residents. There
are cosy corners we'd sit with Mum, or in her room with fabulous sea views. So the location is a wow, but the review we want to share is how grateful and lucky we felt to have Mum cared for by this kind, caring and professional team. In difficult circumstances, we felt like Mum became embraced into a new family, we saw the warmth she received and the big smiles and laughs she shared with the staff who got to know her individually and the safe, easy feeling they created for the residents together. We were so lucky to find Princess House for Mum, and cannot recommend it highly enough for the professional care given, and the wonderful kind and caring staff. Thank you, Princess House!

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.144)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.144) out of 10 for Princess House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Princess House is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.144 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Princess House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.2 = 0.769

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
