Queens Meadow is a beautiful purpose built care home boasting the ambiance of modern day style with old world charm and sophistication.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. They understand that choosing a care home is not just about excellent amenities, but about a true and real understanding of relationships being nurtured, trust being built and a life being lived. Lovely staff always welcoming, you can see genuine care for the residents, always happy to help and always getting involved in events like Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas etc. Lovely to hear the music as well from certain eras.

My parent was placed in Queens Meadow Care Home for a period of assessment after a short stay in the hospital, the staff were amazing, friendly and very caring. My mam really enjoyed her stay and was also happy with her care.

On returning to visiting after covid and my father-in-law being transferred to the dementia unit, after his wife, who also resided at Queens Meadow, had passed away, I felt standards had declined in the home and had to, on a couple of occasions formally complain to the manager who thankfully took the
complaints very seriously and implemented new routines and documentation of daily care plans, visible for the family to see and question. I believe not only did my father-in-law benefit from this, but other residents also. I feel the staff had more motivation and connected with us as a family again. Covid has a lot to answer for. I feel we are on track again.

I was happy with Queens Meadow Care Home, until my father was moved upstairs to the dementia unit. In my opinion, standards dropped dramatically. I felt the room smelt of urine and on some occasions, the cleanliness of my father was unacceptable e.g unshaven, dirty fingernails, excrement on him and
bedding. Thankfully after complaining to the manager, she implemented plans to record daily hygiene/bathing/shaving. I have worked closely with the manager and have reported good and bad after visiting. I now feel standards have improved and staff are more interactive. It is much more pleasant to visit now.

As a Health Care Professional, Rachael has many years of experience in providing care and support for older people, helping to enrich their lives in the process. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Rachael uses her experience to motivate the team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rachael said, “The Residents, the people. Hearing laughter in the home and supporting Residents to fulfil their hopes and dreams. Everything is possible with the right love and support behind you.”
