Queens Meadow is a beautiful purpose built care home boasting the ambiance of modern day style with old world charm and sophistication.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. My mam went to Queens Meadow Care Home for some respite. I can say the staff was absolutely amazing, nothing was a trouble and bent over backwards to pleased my mam, she came on wonderful staying in there. I can't recommend this home enough, and my mam would stay again. The care was brilliant, and so
was all the staff.

Mum was a resident at Queens Meadow from June 2018 until her death in September 2021. My parents-in-law had also been residents here, so my sister and I were confident Mum would be safe, happy and well cared for. We were not disappointed. Mum was encouraged to maintain as much of her independence as
possible - something which was very important to her - with staff ensuring she was always safe. Residents had plenty of opportunities to take part in activities such as quizzes, bingo and carpet bowls. Before COVID, there were often visits by entertainers and Mum loved to join in the singalong. Mum also enjoyed trips to the seaside, a petting farm/zoo and local parks. In the last few months, as Mum became more frail, we were able to visit more frequently, provided we had a negative lateral flow test. The staff were incredibly supportive of Mum and us in her final weeks; my sister and I couldn’t have asked for more. You have our eternal gratitude for your devoted care for our precious mum.

I've just spent 12 days in Queens Meadow having been discharged from Hospital and needing Physiotherapy. I can't rate the staff highly enough they made my stay very welcoming, assisted me with every need, nothing was too much trouble. All the residents were treated with dignity and respect. Would highly
recommend this home.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all staff at Queens Meadow for doing a SENSATIONAL job always, but especially during these sad and unprecedented times. My sister in law and husband are both being cared for during these difficult times when no visits are safe or allowed. Which must make days
so much longer for all staff. I'd like to give a huge special shout out to one of the staff and say a special thanks to you for your caring professional approach to our loved ones who can be difficult. And your care and patience when they want to speak with us and when need things. You have helped us understand a disease that we struggled with knowing little about, but nothing is ever a problem for you. Massive thank you.

I consider all the staff to be my second family, as the care they provide is second to none, carried out with such dedication and kindness. My mother has been a resident for almost 4-years - she has mixed type dementia.
I feel I must comment on the excellent care she has received especially, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This care home has remained virus-free since lock-down action was taken on 12th March. As a family, we were so anxious
that we were unable to see our mother who is 88-years-old, as, during the run-up to the pandemic, she had been unwell and was very frail. Our worst fear is that we may not see our mother again or be able to comfort her if her health deteriorated further, as we visit her 6-days a week in normal times.
We are very thankful for the wonderful support we have received from the Queens Meadow team who have reassured us of our mother's progress and welfare during telephone calls.
Staff have remained cheerful and upbeat despite being under exceptional pressure to ensure the safety and care of all residents in their care.
You should all be rightly proud - well done, and God Bless.

My mam has been a resident at Queen’s Meadow for eight years. From day one, she has been treated with awesome friendship and professionalism by all staff, from the manager, down to all ancillary staff. If I could recall all the names of the staff I’ve encountered - then I would. But as I am unable to
remember them all, I will not list any of their names as I think they are all truly wonderful. Friendly, helpful, caring, informative and professional: these are are their guiding principles and they all perform these qualities so well.

We can not praise the staff at Queens Meadow enough. When we could go and visit my mother in law, who is bedridden, we always got the warmest welcome from the staff. They would come into the room when we were there and talk to my mum in law and you can see a reaction in her eyes. They always make sure
her hair looks lovely, clean nightwear and even a spray of perfume. While they have been on lockdown we have rung each day and they let us know how she is, and also ask how we are doing. They know we are struggling not seeing her, and she is too poorly to go on video calls. One of the staff had her 30th birthday holiday away cancelled, while she was on holiday from work, she knocked at our door one evening with another member of staff to bring us a gorgeous card with a wooden heart to say they are missing us. We know that she is getting as much love and support that they can. Can not thank them enough. Total heroes.

I would like to put in writing just how grateful our family are for the excellent care and attention Mam has received in these very difficult times of lockdown. One of us rings every day to check how Mam is and the staff are always friendly, helpful and chatty and they set our minds at ease knowing
Mam is being well looked after. Their decision to lockdown early was by far the best course of action to take, and I firmly believe this has helped save the lives of our loved ones. We will be forever in their debt, and we want all of them to know how much we love and respect them, now more than ever. Keep up the excellent work.

Cannot express in words how our family are so grateful for the love and care my mam has received from all the staff at Queens Meadow. My mam will be 97 years of age in June 2020 we have been unable to see her for several weeks owing to the lockdown but it has been made easier knowing that the staff
are treating her with love and affection. This is demonstrated to us when we video call her and see how happy and relaxed she is in their company. I know Mam has dementia so probably she is blissfully unaware of what is going on outside, however the fact she is made to feel safe and comfortable is all credit to the wonderful staff that ensure that her total needs are met at all times. I can't wait to see her again and also to be able to thank those special people in person. Queens Meadow Care Home made an important decision to lockdown early. It was probably a hard decision to make but it was one that I believe saved lives. Actions speak louder than words... Thank you to all concerned.

The staff are attentive, supportive and caring for the residents and attend to their requested needs quickly. They are very approachable and happy to do anything you ask. They are quick in accessing medical support for the residents.
The rooms could do with a bit of decoration and upgrade but on
the whole, are acceptable. The home is kept warm and comfortable.
The concerns I have is that my cousin has a very small room and totally immobile could really do with more space. He has a mobility scooter which he keeps in his room which is quite difficult to manoeuvre.

Queens Meadow has a real homely, friendly atmosphere but it is the staff that make it special. They are a credit and make a positive difference to what could be an emotional time. Both residents and visitors are treated with respect and courtesy at all times by every member of the team. Everyone is
supportive and very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are always cheerful and do their job with a smile. The carers are lovely. They have a challenging job and they do it well. They are well trained, knowledgeable, treat the residents as individuals, encourage independence and respond to needs as soon as possible, whether it’s personal care or the involvement of other health care professionals. The overall standard of Queens Meadow is excellent.

My nanna is 97 years old and the transition from leaving her home of 60 years was made so much easier by the wonderful staff. From the day she arrived, they were so understanding, helpful and patient with her - nothing is too much trouble. They are so capable and what has been such a traumatic experience
for us all. As a family, making the decision to have nan in 24hour care has been eased by the staff and standard of this whole environment.

My mother moved to Queens Meadow in January and we had problems almost every week. Having vascular dementia, we expected some problems but these were excessive. She regularly had unwitnessed falls and bruising which carers could never explain. She was wet or/ and soiled most days we visited and her
personal belongings went missing on a daily basis. During her time there, apart from two trips out and music playing in the home, we never saw activities being carried out. Residents are just left in the foyer or television room without any staff monitoring for long periods of time. My mother's room often had faeces on the carpet and paintwork which I cleaned or had to ask for it to be cleaned. We made a formal complaint to the home before our mother moved from here and are waiting for another explanation of why my mother was given drugs that she had previously been weaned off. Since moving from here, my mother is like a new person and smiles again.

As a Health Care Professional, Rachael has many years of experience in providing care and support for older people, helping to enrich their lives in the process. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Rachael uses her experience to motivate the team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rachael said, “The Residents, the people. Hearing laughter in the home and supporting Residents to fulfil their hopes and dreams. Everything is possible with the right love and support behind you.”
