Queens Meadow is a beautiful purpose built care home boasting the ambiance of modern day style with old world charm and sophistication.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. They understand that choosing a care home is not just about excellent amenities, but about a true and real understanding of relationships being nurtured, trust being built and a life being lived. I can highly recommend the Queens Meadow Care Home. My mum has been a resident for over four years and is very happy and settled. All the staff are very friendly and caring, they are all extremely hard working and patient with the residents many which have very varied needs and some can be very difficult
on the dementia unit where my mum lives. They are all well fed and plenty of entertainment is arranged by the lovely staff.

Very pleased with the overall support and care my mother has received since she has been here. We found the staff very helpful and always available for assistance. My mother gets on very well with the staff and residents. Any medical problems have always been seen to.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The building is clean and well kept. Activities are provided on a regular basis. There is no pressure for residents to take part. When my dad first moved to Queens Meadow he had previously had a negative experience at another care home and was understandably reluctant to move again. Within a fortnight of becoming a resident at Queens Meadow, both my mother and I noticed how different his behaviour was. He didn't have his bags
packed to go home, was much calmer and his appearance was also much improved. After a month he was less agitated (if still confused) only occasionally demanding to return home during our visits. This can only be down to the care and professionalism of the staff at Queens Meadow, treating him with patience and understanding of his personal needs making him feel more at home. Every member of staff has treated us with courtesy, helpfully asking us about my dad's personal needs, which reassures us all about his future there.

The care and support my gran has received has been fantastic. She initially came to the home for respite care but made the decision to stay permanently as she felt greatly cared for and supported.
Her mental and physical health have completely 'turned a corner' since coming to the home.

Our uncle came into the care home because he is very poorly and cannot look after himself at home anymore. Since he came into the home all the staff have been attending his needs and help him to be comfortable and we all feel he is in good hands because when he was at home we were frightened he would
fall and hurt himself. We are very happy for him to be cared for at Queens Meadow Care Home. Thank you.

I visit an aunt who is now a resident. She raves about how good the staff are, how helpful and how good the food is. I have found all staff to be friendly, clean, very helpful. I can't comment on activities, safety too well, as I am not there all the time, but there are posters advertising upcoming
events. Good atmosphere and morale with the staff.

Only issue I have is that not enough staff on duty at any one time. Lounge is used as a dumping ground with no supervision of residents.

Since my mum entered QMCH we have all been delighted with the kindness and care our mum has received. Without exception, the carers have treated mum with the utmost respect and shown her great patience and appreciation.
They have always been kind and considerate with all members of the family which

As a Health Care Professional, Rachael has many years of experience in providing care and support for older people, helping to enrich their lives in the process. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Rachael uses her experience to motivate the team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rachael said, “The Residents, the people. Hearing laughter in the home and supporting Residents to fulfil their hopes and dreams. Everything is possible with the right love and support behind you.”
