    The care home has spacious bedrooms that are fully furnished with en-suite facilities, several have Juliet balconies overlooking the gardens. There are comfortable communal lounges with space to chat to friends or more privately with family. There are easily accessible bathing and shower rooms with specialist equipment and lift access on each floor. Spacious dining rooms with the facilities for families to make their own refreshments and beautifully presented gardens.

    The kitchen produces delicious home cooked traditional food and additional menu choices. There is unlimited free Wi-Fi internet access. Specialist equipment can be provided after appropriate assessment. A full laundry service is provided.   • At St Martins Care, they understand how important it is for families to maintain contact with their loved ones and the importance of the sustained and supported involvement of a resident’s families and friends. They also recognise that residents should have full choice over who they wish to see or be visited by.


    In normal circumstances, there will be no restrictions on visiting hours other than those requested by residents collectively or individually. The only exception may be in the incidence of an infection outbreak, where staff will refer to the Outbreak Management and Isolation Nursing Policy and Procedure.


    St Martins Care Limited will always have regard for the current national guidance in relation to visiting rights and they are determined to do all they can to ensure families see their loved ones as much as possible.

I had a very pleasant time at the Manor. The staff were highly proficient and very friendly. The food was adequate and served with a smile.

Guisborough Manor is warm and welcoming. Member of staff love and care for my father. They are very patient and treat him with great dignity, which is important.

The love, care, compassion shown by the care team to both mum and all the family was 5++ star rating. Over the 6 years she was resident in Guisborough Manor she gained new life, new friends and fun experiences. The social side surpassed all expectations, as did the care and love by everyone from the
cleaners , care team and the management, nothing was too much trouble. Sadly she is no longer with us, however the superior loving professional care given to her was on the highest level.

Mam is being cared for by the best care team you could wish for from top to bottom, I should not put bottom because they are all top class to us, we cannot complain about anything, the whole care team are so genuinely warm and professional with the way and deal with mam's needs.
From the moment Mam,
my sister and I entered the home we knew that it was the one, it felt warm, calm and friendly, the manager greeted us with genuine warmth and understanding, she gave a tour and introduced us to all the staff, we instantly arranged to move Mam in that day.
Mam has now been in the home on the EMI floor for exactly one year and I can honestly say it was the hardest but easiest decision we have had to make, Mam's care is second to none.
We have no qualms with recommending this home and care provider at all, in fact if the situation ever arises we have left instructions to arrange our move into the home.

All the staff deserve a SPECIAL 5* mentioning for their care, dedication, patience and understanding that they give to all the residents that I have noted whilst visiting my sister in law. I take my wife twice a month to see her sister, we live at York and travel to see her as frequently as possible.
Each and every time we call at varying times we see and are met with overwhelming genuine care and understanding with a "nothing is to much trouble for these wonderful hard working carers" with wonderful activities, sing along sessions, day outings being regularly arranged up to activate their minds and bodies of residents who through no fault of their own have become very dependent on other to provide them with a quality of life that they so justly deserve, May God bless them all.

Alison

Alison Corner

Job Title: Registered Manager

Alison's career started as a student nurse at Scarborough General Hospital before moving into adult social care after leaving college. Alison explains "I think care was always a part of my childhood, I don’t think I can remember a time when it wasn’t . My nana lived with my family and my mum cared for her throughout the latter stages of her life. I completed my school work experience at the Stead Memorial Hospital and I continued as a volunteer when my placement finished . The staff there were fantastic and allowed me to participate in lots of duties. This was what I wanted, this was what I needed to do. I wanted to make people smile when they felt sad, laugh when they felt like crying, comfort them when they were in pain, listen when they needed to speak and speak for them when they no longer could. This was and still is my purpose." Alison has been the registered manager at Guisborough Manor since February 2019. She is proud of attaining her NVQ 5 In Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care which enables her to support and mentor current and future care staff to enrich the lives of the residents in our care. When asked about her vision for Guisborough Manor, Alison says "Guisborough Manor is not just a care home, it is “Your home” as soon as you walk through the door. From the subtle décor to the panoramic views, the fabulous care staff to the tasty delights that come from our kitchen. This is how I want our home to continue, making our ladies and gentlemen feel valued, supported, safe, loved and cared for to the highest level."

Alishia Coates

Alishia has gained over 15 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, helping to enrich their lives in every stage of her career. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents. Alishia has gained her level 5 in health and social care management, previously being a care home manager herself. Alishia has been deputy manager at Guisborough Manor since October 2020 although she says it feels like she has been a part of the home forever. Alishia extends her caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home. She also works hard to arrange events and activities and is always keen to include the local community in life at St Martins Care. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Alishia remarked, “I love seeing the residents and their loved one smile, laugh, feel confident and cared for. I'm very proud to be leading a team from strength to strength and seeing them flourish and grow. I believe that the best care involves giving the greatest of yourself to each and every resident, and ensuring our staff feel valued and appreciated."
