The Gables prides itself on the care and attention given to residents and their families. Carers concentrate on getting to know you and your loved one, enabling professionals to look after physical needs and more importantly delivering what emotional support you and your family need. The Gables accept that choosing a care home is one of the most difficult decisions a family member or advocate can make and are here to help you through that decision, through the move in and beyond.

Excellent care is the key objective of each of the team members. Caring for those who can no longer look after themselves is what they do best, with an approach that takes into account that although there will be aspects of daily care and activity that residents could not manage at home, carers continue to encourage independence wherever possible - thus enabling residents to make the most of what they can do on a daily basis.

Care workers support an active lifestyle alongside professional care as part of a core mission, they endeavour to ensure that both residents and visitors enjoy their time spent at the home. They have all of the usual benefits of a care home environment, including en suite rooms, excellent communal spaces and areas for residents to enjoy quiet times, by themselves or with their families.

Professionals also offer excellent activities at the home, which offer stimulation and engagement to all residents. An activities co-ordinator works with individuals to ensure that they offer activities that will suit each person and sometimes this means that one to one activity is more appropriate than group activities.

I am pleased with my Mam's care. She is well looked after and all her needs are met. The staff are kind and very obliging. I have raised issues in the past and the staff have dealt with them efficiently and effectively.

I found the care home to be extremely clean and fresh. The meal rooms were also perfectly set out, and the food was excellent. All staff were very pleasant and approachable. Security was perfect; enter four digits to enter the home and sign the visitor book. We could visit anytime and always made welcome.
My daughter cannot speak highly enough of all conditions and staff at The Gables Care Home. Thanks.

Mum was troubled with delirium as well as dementia. On admission, after 3 months in hospital, the lockdown was applied the same day, so we were very anxious as to Mum's health and wellbeing. The staff has been very supportive and the 1-2-1 carers and staff have finally given Mum peace and she is happy,
healthy, and is well cared for. She is very settled and it is good to see her doing so well. Thank you still doesn't seem enough to show how grateful we are.

Unfortunately, I have had no access to the interior of the home because of government anti-virus regulations. My wife was welcomed there on 14th April and my phone calls since then have been dealt with politely, helpfully and even cheerfully. I have been informed promptly of any concerns. Since 15th
June I have spoken to my wife in the garden. She is physically well and she is happy and settled in the home. I was accompanied generally by one of our sons and each of the three was very impressed by their mother's appearance and her happy attitude. I am unable to give an opinion on some of the ratings.

My mother was only here for 4 days as she was at the end of her life. I couldn't have picked a better place. I only wish I had got my mam in there sooner. The staff are so caring. Not only towards my mam but to my mam's relatives too. My mam was so comfortable and was at ease and I would like to thank
all the staff at The Gables for looking after my mam and when it's my turn I would love to be in a place like this.

I have no complaint as such as mam is happy and looked after and very well fed but I do feel that activities with the residents has fallen by the wayside.
The events coordinator seems to step into the breach - covering shifts of staff in other areas (sickness etc). The residents need more stimulation.

Husband in care for 1 year and in all that time he was looked after by caring, thoughtful staff. As a regular visitor, I was always kept informed and made welcome. My overall impression of The Gables is that it is on excellent care provider. The manager is extremely helpful and friendly, as are all of the staff. The residents are looked after with care and dignity. Thank you for taking care of my aunt!

My Mum has been a resident of The Gables Care Home for almost 18 months. The standard of care and nursing she receives is second to none. The staff are diligent and really care about their residents. Mum is treated with respect and dignity at all times. Mum can no longer live at home but this is the

Dad has been looked after extremely well. His physical needs and his emotional needs are looked after. Dad has built a great relationship with everyone at the home. The care received by my mother was of the highest calibre. Nothing was too much trouble, though at times my mother didn't like to trouble the staff as she knew they were busy. When my mother was unwell or was taken to hospital either myself or my sister were informed immediately. I would say the food
at times was very repetitive and unimaginative. I know the management has been trying to secure more suitable staff. Following the sudden death of my mother, the management and staff were once again amazing and I could not have asked for better support during this sad and stressful time.

Mum moved in for end of life care, not wanting to come to a nursing home, but after a couple of days of excellent, attentive care she settled and was relaxed.


The home is bright and friendly, the staff had time to get to know Mum and her nursing requirements. She died a pain-free, peaceful death

in part due to the care received. As a family, we would recommend The Gables.

My sister was moved for better nursing care, which she got. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Unfortunately, my sister only lasted a few weeks and died. But the staff could not do enough to help or to make sure she was clean, tidy and very well cared for.
She only had to ask for something
and she could have it, we could visit anytime day or night and were sent for if they were worried about her. She was checked constantly, I wish she'd been in this home a lot sooner, she would have enjoyed it. Many thanks to all the staff.
