The Gables prides itself on the care and attention given to residents and their families. Carers concentrate on getting to know you and your loved one, enabling professionals to look after physical needs and more importantly delivering what emotional support you and your family need. The Gables accept that choosing a care home is one of the most difficult decisions a family member or advocate can make and are here to help you through that decision, through the move in and beyond.

Excellent care is the key objective of each of the team members. Caring for those who can no longer look after themselves is what they do best, with an approach that takes into account that although there will be aspects of daily care and activity that residents could not manage at home, carers continue to encourage independence wherever possible - thus enabling residents to make the most of what they can do on a daily basis.

Care workers support an active lifestyle alongside professional care as part of a core mission, they endeavour to ensure that both residents and visitors enjoy their time spent at the home. They have all of the usual benefits of a care home environment, including en suite rooms, excellent communal spaces and areas for residents to enjoy quiet times, by themselves or with their families.

Professionals also offer excellent activities at the home, which offer stimulation and engagement to all residents. An activities co-ordinator works with individuals to ensure that they offer activities that will suit each person and sometimes this means that one to one activity is more appropriate than group activities.

My brother was in The Gables care home for a short period of time. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Any problem was seen to straight away. My brother also enjoyed the meals. The care he received was second to none.

My mother was transferred from the local hospital following a stroke. The care home response was excellent from the Manager down. Overall staff members I came in contact with were caring, thoughtful and sympathetic. Whilst it was clear Mother was fast approaching the end of her life, all the staff went
above and beyond what I would have expected with dealing with her. Relieved and pleased with her treatment.

The standard of care given to my uncle is of excellence. The staff go the extra mile with care, compassion and a "can do" attitude- nothing is a trouble. They take a proactive approach coupled with delivering and attending to personal dignity clients and take time to understand individual needs. They
recognize the value of family and we are made to feel very welcome being offered refreshment and comfort after long journeys. The team and care manager has been key in helping our uncle to settle, feel safe, cared for and comfortable. Thanks.

My husband was transferred from hospital on 27/1/16 until discharge on 16/2/16. He is unable to communicate because of his dementia and motor neurone. My husband was treated with the utmost respect. The staff and nursing staff were all very supportive. Nothing was any trouble. I had an operation the
day before my husband was transferred, their support and kindness to me was brilliant. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Gables Nursing Home. I would be happy to have my husband stay there again. Thank you to all concerned.
