Even though my beautiful mother has only been in the home since January and at first I was extremely upset over it all, I've been settled with the care, love and support from everyone working in the home. I am always made welcome.

My father has been in this care home for nine years and has been very happy. Although he is deteriorating, he is being well looked after and pampered. The staff are very kind, respectful and caring. I continue to be very impressed with all the people who work here and would recommend to anyone.

I was in Longlands Care Home from October 2020 to January 2021 after being diagnosed with heart failure. It was for respite care to begin with then I was told I had Covid-19 and was admitted to hospital. The staff were brilliant in all areas of the care home.
I was treated with respect and dignity
as I was unable to bathe myself, I never felt embarrassed or ill at ease.
I got to know the girls as I called the carers and my two boys, being a cheeky 72 year old I got away with it. All the carers were brilliant, they were never to busy to help when you asked for advice.
I would recommend Longlands Care Home and would not hesitate to contact them if I needed residential care.
Thank you so much for helping me when I needed help.

Nursing and administration staff are fantastic, they treat Mum as family rather than a resident.
In regular contact if ill or doctor required.
Always go the extra mile.

My mother was initially admitted in for rest care and is now a permanent resident. The care provided to her is excellent, the staff here genuinely care and they are all lovely, plenty of activities which my mother can participate in when she wants to and plenty of services provided eg: hairdresser/podiatrist
etc. It’s true to say my mother is a different lady since being here everyone really has made her feel at home and she has settled in perfectly.

The staff and management provide a fantastic level of care for my mam. I do not live locally so do not get to visit as often as I would wish but I know she is in good hands.
Communication is very good and the staff are so good and effective at interacting with mam and keeping her spirits up.

The fact that there's not a quick turn over of staff means that they know my father well and gives me peace of mind.

I find all the staff very friendly, helpful and caring, cannot praise them enough for the care of my father. One problem which I have had since he went in there is to do with his television obviously the ariel in the home is not strong enough signal for all the rooms and as a result, my father does
not get all the digital channels. I have mentioned this many times but to no avail and also his remote has been taken, I have asked for it to be replaced but again this has not been done. These are small things on the grand scale of things and I am totally happy with the service otherwise.

Thank you for your review and kind words. Unfortunately we do have a problem with the aerials in the home but are in the process of redecorating the home and have recently installed Wifi throughout the building which hopefully will improve things until we are able to address the problem with the aerials.

Kind Regards

Julie Wood

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.757)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.757) out of 10 for Longlands Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for Longlands Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.84 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Longlands Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.465

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
