Nunthorpe Oaks is a beautiful home which has recently undergone a stunning refurbishment. With a warm family feel the moment you walk through the door, it feels like home from home.

Providing residential care, the team also offers respite care breaks, which are ideal for carers looking after loved ones, who would like to plan a short break themselves.   

There are spacious lounges and a garden room, as well as a new bistro-style café area. And there’s a hair salon and nail bar, for regular appointments with the mobile hairdresser, plus pampering sessions with facials, manicures and hand massages.

The gardens are beautiful and are the perfect spot to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. Nunthorpe Oaks also has a private family and friends Facebook group, where families can see what their loved ones have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

The residents enjoy so many activities, with music from local choirs and musical entertainers to karaoke. The home even has its own choir. There are regular gentle exercise sessions, crafts, knit and knatter, baking and cocktail evenings, as well as trips to local parks, shopping and garden centres and coffee shops.

In the dining rooms, the residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the chef, who was proud to be crowned Best Performing Chef for the entire region at Sanctuary Care’s annual Chefs’ Conference (2023). From roast dinners with all the trimmings, to fish and chip Fridays and lighter bites like home-made soups. And there is home-baking every day for afternoon tea, with the chef’s cheese scones and cakes always going down a treat.

The local community are embraced into life at Nunthorpe Oaks, with regular church services and hymns in the home to visits from local school children.

A neighbour of mine has recently moved into this care home. Prior to moving she was living alone and could not be bothered cooking and did not see many people on a daily basis.
Since she moved into the home I visit her every week and have seen a dramatic change in her. She seems to have taken on a
new lease of life and loves the home saying it was the best move she made.
The food is excellent and she eats all her meals. The staff are so good and she praises them and says they cannot do enough for her.
With plenty of activities going on which she joins in and she says the time flies.
This is a very welcoming and caring home and if in the future I myself needed to go into a care home I hope I can get into this one.
Better put my name on the waiting list now!!!

Dad moved into Nunthorpe Oaks and settled in very quickly. He now calls it 'home', and has nothing but praise for how well he is looked after, without exception the staff are kind, considerate, patient and friendly. He loves his quite spacious room, where he is able to have some of his own furniture,
paintings and memorabilia, it really is his own special space and he loves it. I would recommend Nunthorpe Oaks to anyone looking for a home from home. It has certainly taken a huge weight off the shoulders of his family knowing that he is happy and well looked after.

Our residents at Nunthorpe Oaks come first. I love interacting with them and supporting them to feel happy and fulfilled. We have so many lovely activities going on to enrich their lives. I am deeply passionate about involving the local community in life in the home, keeping those community connections alive for our residents to enjoy.
