Stainton Way Care Home have provided a caring stable environment for my Mother to live the most contented life she has had in years! She is well fed clean and tidy, and the staff are very proactive with all Mum's needs. They communicate well with family members and dialogue with the doctor on a very
proactive basis. I have been so happy to be able to get the appropriate care for my Mum, the staff are lovely.

My Dad has been at Stainton Way Care Home for almost 2 years. He is happy and feels safe which gives me so much peace of mind. I love to see that smile on his face when members of staff talk to him (he does have his favourites). It's clear that the staff genuinely care for all the residents it's not
just a job it's a vocation. The activities coordinator are brilliant too organising games, coffee morning and much more. It is all clean and tidy and a pleasant relaxing environment. As a family, we feel so blessed to have my Dad live here and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Stainton for their hard work and dedication.

Overall, an excellent care home. My husband is a quiet man with complex needs, and he has had a few issues with needs, all resolved. His health has been up and down but the care he receives is marvellous. Slowly he is being encouraged to mix, but prefers to talk to staff, who do converse with him. They
really care.

Mum has been in the home for a couple of months now, and my sister and I have found all the staff extremely welcoming and professional. Mum seems much more settled in the home compared to her previous home.

I find the home is very welcoming, warm, friendly and very informative. They all treat my mum and all residents with the utmost respect and care, even the most challenging behaviour (my mother) included. The staff are warm and friendly and take care to get to know residents and families and their likes
and dislikes. I know I can go home or away and know she is well cared for and looked after. I thank you all for the hard work you all put in.

My father has settled very well into Stainton Way. The staff are very caring and have made him really welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they set a very high standard of care. They treat Dad with dignity and respect and are always available to talk things through. They are proactive
when support is needed and keep the family informed. They have very good relations with the local GP surgery, who respond quickly to any concerns. Dad enjoys football on tv, and the staff makes sure his tv is on the right channel in time for the match. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stainton Way.

Amazing staff who looked after my mum for the last three months. She was treated with love and dignity from day one.
Friendly, caring and welcoming - they gave me so much peace of mind that my mum was being looked after as well as I could have done.
Can't begin to thank you enough.
Fully recommended
- my mum said every day how lovely everyone was and how they looked after her.
Thank you.

Mum was struggling in the community, and I was anxious about her having to go into a care home, but when we arrived, everyone was smiling and thoughtful. They continue to be a friend and advocate, and Mum wants for nothing, and most importantly, it feels like home.

My experience has been good overall. The staff present as being caring and supportive of my dad. Unfortunately, my dad was admitted shortly before lockdown making his first months really challenging for him, family and staff. The staff I feel have dealt with this crisis professionally, with care and
dignity. The staff have maintained communication and appear to have responded proactively to my dad's health needs. My observation of one staff's interaction with my dad and other residents has been reassuringly positive, calm, caring and give the feeling that they care for the residents on a practical and emotional basis.

When my mum chose to go into permanent care, she was very fortunate to be placed in Stainton Way Care Home.
From the senior management and admin team, to the senior carers, carers and cleaners, all the staff have been fantastic.
They have worked tirelessly with my mum to ensure that she settles well
and has a suitable routine that works well.
All the staff are friendly, approachable and most importantly are passionate about taking care of the residents.
Nothing is too much trouble and they all provide great support and company for my mum.
When my mum has been unwell, they have provided extremely attentive care ensuring the best possible treatment for her.
All the other residents appear very happy and settled and enjoy being there.
I have such great peace of mind knowing that the team at Stainton Way are looking after my mum.
Overall it is a care home that is a pleasure to visit because of the team of staff who work hard to give the best possible care to their family of residents.

Very satisfied with the care etc but the major problem is insufficient car parking/no disabled car parking - issues which need to be addressed with some urgency.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.591)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.591) out of 10 for Stainton Way Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for Stainton Way Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.674 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stainton Way Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.299

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
