Ingleby Care Home prides itself on the care and attention given to residents and their families. Carers concentrate on getting to know you and your loved one, enabling them to look after physical needs and more importantly delivering what emotional support you and your family need.

They accept that choosing a care home is one of the most difficult decisions a family member or advocate can make and are here to help you through that decision, through the move in and beyond.

Excellent care is the key objective of each of the team members. Caring for those who can no longer look after themselves is what they do best, with an approach that takes into account that although there will be aspects of daily care and activity that residents could not manage at home, carers continue to encourage independence wherever possible - thus enabling residents to make the most of what they can do on a daily basis.

They support an active lifestyle alongside professional care as part of their core mission, they endeavour to ensure that both residents and visitors enjoy their time spent at the home. They have all of the usual benefits of a care home, including en suite rooms, excellent communal spaces and areas for residents to enjoy quiet times.

They also offer excellent activities at the home, which offer stimulation and engagement to all residents. The activities co-ordinator works with individuals to ensure that they offer activities that will suit each person and sometimes this means that one to one activity is more appropriate than group activities.

My husband has been a resident for over 7 years. He loves living at Ingleby Care Home. The staff are amazing, nothing too much for them Always have a smile and always friendly. All residents are well looked after, staff have a very caring attitude. Rooms regularly cleaned. Excellent housekeeping. Food
variable and good quality. There has not been a manager for a number of months but in my opinion, the staff have coped very well without one.

Reply from Louise Zalick, Manager at Ingleby Care Home

The staff at Ingleby Care Home are amazing.
They really were like family to my mum for the almost four years that she lived in their care.
They were loving, kind, compassionate and caring to my mum. The way that they interacted with her, it is obvious that it is more than a job but a vocation to the
staff.
My mum was very happy in her final years and this is due to the care she received.
When Mum's time came, the staff treated her with such compassion and dignity that I was overwhelmed and incredibly grateful. They were also amazingly supportive to me at such a difficult time.
I will always owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

An astounding home. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Mums dog was allowed to visit her every day in her room. The food was fantastic. Mum was only there for a month but when mum needs permanent care, we will definitely use Ingelby care home. A special thanks to Andy and Pam who always went

My mam is 91; she's been in the care home since August 2021. She went in for respite care and some rehabilitation and decided to stay as she was made to feel safe and very welcomed. The surroundings are amazing. The staff are wonderful, from the sister in charge to the person emptying the bins, nothing
is too much trouble. My mam is treated like a princess from waking up in the morning to going to sleep, nothing is too much trouble, and for that, I'm truly thankful.
They should have 10-stars.

Mum is 90 with advanced Parkinson’s and other medical issues. She was in Ingleby care home in Lamb Lane for about a month. The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. I was impressed before she went in when the supervisor phoned for information about mum’s likes and dislikes, times she liked
to get up and go to bed every effort made to get her what she liked and so well looked after. She nearly gained a toyboy but he had recently got married. The staff all of them showering and then helping with her hair…..her right hand cannot grasp….so it is difficult……..they were amazing going over and above. So great with her. They should have 10 out of 10. Thank you everyone.

They provide a caring service and I have no idea how they have managed to keep going through all the COVID-19 times. They always have a friendly word to say and their dedication
to their work is amazing. We call them the Ingleby Angels. We will always be grateful for their dedication.

My mum has been a resident in Ingleby Care Home for over 8 years and has progressed from residential to EMI care. Throughout these many years both my mum and our family have been treated with dignity, care and compassion by the wonderful staff and care home manager, who have always done their very best
to ensure that she is cared for to the best of their ability and often gone above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and safe. It has been especially hard for everyone during Covid-19 and lockdown, and despite the fact that we are unable to visit her which is so very sad, the staff and management team have done an incredible job of keeping both residents and staff safe and well, which has been extremely difficult for everyone, but so very much appreciated by us relatives, knowing that our loved ones are being cared for and kept safe at this time. We as a family cannot thank them all enough, and so look forward to the day when we will once again be able to see our loved ones.

What can I say but brilliant. The manager has been vigilant of the situation and understanding. The staff are exceptional, caring for all the residents, supporting and keeping their spirits up. They have organised an outdoor singalong which allowed us to join in on the road. We are now able to visit
our mam in the garden, a distance apart. I can't thank everyone enough you have done brilliant work.

Since the coronavirus has hit the UK, the home has handled it excellently. It closed early, putting patients first to make sure they are kept in a safe environment. Organised for us to see them from the road while in lockdown, then organising of half-hour visits outside. Could not have asked for better
care of my mam. (No coronavirus in this home.) Well done to all the staff, giving 100% at all times.

Ingleby Care Home has been extremely careful with the residents, having entered into lockdown two weeks early; this has paid off with no Covid-19 cases. They have made the health and safety of the residents and staff their main priority.

I have attempted on several occasions to arrange an appointment over the telephone, to visit my Granddad who has, since Covid19, deteriorated in his health. Staff including the manager have been very confrontational with me and negative over the telephone making it impossible for me to arrange this
and telling me that other residents need to see their relatives before I can. The manager would not give out name and even hung up on my conversation. I have been very distressed and upset by their lack of empathy and compassion and l have been left feeling very upset and nervous of any future contact I make with staff from the care home. Previous to Covid19 I was a regular visitor of my Granddads and feel both my Granddad and myself have been let down by staff.

Reply from Carol Singleton, Home Manager at Ingleby Care Home

We were very surprised to see your review and can only express our sadness that you feel the way you do. The members of your family have done nothing but praise our home for the way that we have ensured the safety of your granddad and all our residents during the pandemic. Your granddad is safe and cared for with empathy and compassion by our care team, he is in robust health and has been able to meet his relatives in the gardens at the home. We have made every effort to arrange visits with your granddad but the fact remains that you did not attend the last meeting leaving him confused.
We are always available to discuss any concerns you have calmly and will always endeavour to act in the best interests of the residents in our home.

My mum has only been in Ingleby Care Home for a few weeks. She is really well cared for by staff who are friendly, respectful and kind.
The transformation in my mum, compared to how she was living at home with carers visiting is immeasurable. I put this down to the level of care, nutrition and social
interactions she has now.
The anxiety I felt all the time during my mum's last few months 'living independently', has completely gone. Although my mum may not understand why she can't go home, I know that Ingleby Care Home is definitely the best place for her to be.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.846)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.846) out of 10 for Ingleby Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.900 for Ingleby Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.9

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.946 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ingleby Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.446

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
