My mother moved to Chichester Hall from another home 10 months ago, but Chichester for my mother was a home from home. The staff are amazing, the care and attention she has from them all was amazing. Special mention to two members of staff in particular are truly wonderful and caring. If you are seeking
a care home for a loved one, Chichester will be a good choice. Home from home.

My mum had 2 weeks respite at Chichester Hall. She was apprehensive before her stay, but as soon as she arrived she was greeted by friendly, warm and caring staff. The hall itself is clean and homely and she enjoyed the food (she has put weight on!). Mum was sorry to leave and is going to miss all the
staff. I can't thank the manager and her amazing team enough. My husband and myself were always made to feel welcome and offered tea and biscuits.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent 9-day respite stay at the Skinburness Home. It is set in beautiful and peaceful surrounding countryside on the Solway Firth. The staff was all brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Being in a motorised wheelchair I had no problems at all getting around as
the hallways and rooms were very spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

My father came into Chichester Hall three weeks ago for respite care. The excellent service provided by this care home helped to make his final days happy and fulfilling as he felt safe and valued in an environment where all the staff have been exemplary led by a superb management team who made the
right decisions every time and provided my wife and I with the necessary information with which to make clear decisions. I can't praise them highly enough as they helped to make what was a potentially traumatic period of passing dignified and affirming.

My mother has been a resident at Chichester Hall for five months now. She is very well looked after by kind and caring staff. She has a really nice, light and airy bedroom which she loves. I am especially impressed with how attentive the manager and all the care staff are to my mother's ongoing and
often changing care needs - they regularly assess her and provide whatever is needed to ensure she is happy, comfortable and as well as she can be.

I have been so happy with the care given to my grandparent, the staff truly care about each and every resident. They keep in contact with us too, especially in the time that my grandparent spent in hospital recently.
Would definitely recommend this service to anyone else thinking about having a loved
one in care, they will put your mind at ease.

My mum was well settled and happy at Chichester Hall. She enjoyed the broad range of activities which gave her an excellent quality of life. The home-cooked food was both nutritious and delicious and preferences/dietary requirements were well catered for. Chichester Hall was always spotlessly clean
and mum was always well-groomed, which was of particular importance to her. All the staff work together well as one cohesive team providing the best care in a home-from-home friendly environment. I thank all the staff for looking after my mum so well in the last few months, allowing us quality time together and providing precious moments. Quite simply, in my opinion, Chichester Hall should be the model that all care homes are based on.

I cannot praise this home enough. My Mother has been in the home for five years. She was diagnosed with vascular dementia but was needing a lot more full-time care. Originally we (my sister and I) thought she would benefit from respite for a few weeks. Mum was initially hesitant about going into care,
but even temporarily she was made to feel at home immediately. The transition to residential care came quite quickly and we think due to the attention and care she received has ended up well settled in the home. The staff are extremely welcoming and when we first left her they said to ring any time to see if she was ok. The staff worked extremely well during lockdown and I was able to WhatsApp to see her during lockdown. I try and see her regularly and my daughter goes to see her with my grandsons when she can. One thing I remember the manager saying to me was that the home is the residents' home and is treated as such. Well done Chichester Hall staff.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.441)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.441) out of 10 for Chichester Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.841 for Chichester Hall is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.841

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chichester Hall is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
