All the staff and management are very helpful and caring; you are greeted with a smile, and even through difficult times, they went above and beyond to keep the family informed. The residents mostly seem happy and enjoy the activities provided for them. My relative particularly enjoys the food.

Warm and friendly staff. Very attentive and caring, even though they seem a little understaffed. Only problem while my wife was there was the laundry! It seemed like a first-up best-dressed system.

My father was a resident of Chichester Hall Care Home from September 2021 until his death in March 2022. Prior to entering Chichester, he had been living on his own at home in declining health and with carer support. His morale and general well-being were extremely low.
During his time at Chichester
Hall, his quality of life improved immeasurably and he came to enjoy the environment, experience and interaction that Chichester provided. The family is immensely grateful to the manager and all of her team for their professionalism, kindness and unwavering support - especially in his final days.

My mother spent five weeks in Chichester Hall after a spell in hospital. The care provided throughout that time was excellent. I cannot thank the entire staff enough for the welcome she received and for the kindness, compassion, love and care offered to her in those final weeks of her life.

This care home has changed my dad's perspective on life. Before he was depressed (living at home) and stopped eating. Today he is lively, active and very attentive. He eats and looks forward to his days remaining.
This is all down to the staff at Chichester Hall Care Home. One of the best decisions
we ever made.

Superb service today 24/08/2021. Mum had a lovely lunch in the garden with a glass of non-alcoholic wine. Mum loved looking at all the flowers, sitting in the sun and trying to guess what the different herbs were by smelling the different plants. The carers were really helpful and the chef cooked a
lovely toad in the hole. The manager was brilliant helping us after and showing us the helper's herb garden.

After a severe stroke, and with my practical help, my brother was able to live independently and continue his work as a mathematician - for many years then, in 2016, another stroke and mild/moderate dementia made 24-hour residential care the only option. This was a very anxious time for him but all
at Chichester Hall treated him with such kindness and dignity, he soon felt at home. His personal preferences were respected and his favourite foods were sourced. In his last weeks, my brother had a distressing time in hospital but Chichester Hall welcomed him back and gave wonderful 'end of life' care, allowing (safe) visits. This care home truly cares.

Reply from Jenni Wilkinson, Registered Manager at Chichester Hall

Thank you so much for your review. Your brother was a joy to care for, such a kind and considerate gentleman, who is greatly missed.
As a family, you were so respectful to staff during his last weeks, the pandemic made things difficult, but thank you for your consideration.
I shall pass your kind words on to the team.

We really appreciate the excellent care provided by Chichester Hall for our mother. Residents are treated as individuals and given care according to their needs and personal circumstances. There is a caring, family atmosphere due to the attitude of all of the staff who have done an amazing job in a

My relative is well cared for, well fed and kept clean and tidy, interacting with both staff and residents, which prior to relocating to Chichester Hall she was withdrawn and not interacting with people. Her appetite has returned and with it her chirpy personality. The home has been very Covid aware
and taken all considerations.

A wonderful home in a beautiful and tranquil setting. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that their residents are happy and that they spend their remaining years in comfort surrounded by lovely people. I can not recommend this home highly enough for someone looking for additional help or support

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.441)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.441) out of 10 for Chichester Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.841 for Chichester Hall is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.841

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chichester Hall is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
