With a team devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, Ashwood Park has a warm family feel the moment you walk through the door.

Providing residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team also offers respite care breaks, which are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The team support the residents to play a very active role in how their home is run, and there’s a resident ambassador who provides feedback on everything from the menu to the activities on offer, as well as welcoming new staff and residents.

There are so many engaging activities, from baking and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages, to singalongs with the piano. The residents enjoy regular entertainers, who fill the home with music.

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with the chef preparing delicious home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Ashwood Park has a beautiful hair salon, for regular appointments with the mobile hairdresser, and there is a secure courtyard garden, home to ducks Pip, Hamish and Bonnie!   

There are so many spaces to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time, from the welcoming lounges and garden room to the café. And there is a private family and friends Facebook group.

The local community are embraced into life at Ashwood Park. Local school children regularly visit to enjoy activities and sing with the residents. And there are regular visits and outings with their fellow residents from Sanctuary Care’s neighbouring home.

Many of the residents love animals, so there are lots of visits from everything from dogs to animal therapy sessions with owls, guinea pigs and rabbits.

And there’s plenty to do outside the home, with trips to the Easington Beach, shopping centres, cafés, garden centres and the local school, the marina and pub lunches.

I would like to advise that from the time I arrived to the time I departed the staff from cleaners to management treated me with kindness and professionalism which made me feel safe and well cared for, their efforts were the reason for my improvement. Thank you.

My room overlooks a lovely garden, well stocked and looked after. My room is also pleasant not elegant. But adequately clean. Nice bathroom on suite. TV (smart) and a fully adjustable bed also. The sitting chair has wave action on the base cushion. The staff are excellent, always available. The food
is excellent in variety and quality. Not your normal mundane menu. Visiting excellent.

My mum-in-law was admitted to the intermediate care unit in Ashwood Park following a heart attack. The care she received during her 5-week stay was just wonderful. Her personal care was attended to with dignity and compassion. Her physical needs were met so well. All of the staff we met were amazing
- very welcoming to us as a family. The culture in the ICU was so lovely. Mum's progress and care were explained to us at each visit. We really appreciate the professional care and attention Mum received.

Held a party for my mother's 90th birthday recently. All staff were extremely supportive and helpful when a change of room was required. My mum has been there for three years. She is very relaxed and happy with the level of care and support she receives. Whenever she makes a request it is always dealt
with considerately and promptly while the staff keep mum involved in the decision. My mum has developed a really nice relationship with many of the carers, management and maintenance staff who spend time with her even though they are always very busy. The home is always very clean and kept to a high standard. I do not live locally, any queries I have are always responded to very quickly. If my mum has any health problems, I am always alerted immediately for which I am grateful. My mum made the decision to go to Ashwood following respite care there when she was having serious mobility problems at home. I know she is still very pleased with her decision.

I came to this unit dreading the weeks ahead.
I soon forgot that.
The staff have made my stay a pleasure. They are all so caring and thoughtful nothing is a trouble to them in any way.
The staff alone would influence me to recommend this care home to anyone.

Our father has been here for 2 months. The staff are amazing he has settled into his new life here. They always have time for us when we visit and give us regular updates. For our family to know he is cared for is so special as he smiles and laughs. Thanks so much to all the staff from our family.

As I've experienced a previous nursing home. I'm so impressed with the care my partner has received.
As he can be very disrupted the carers seem to have so much patience with him, they keep on to make sure he is up for breakfast and washes which is no easy task. But as time goes on my partner seems
to be very happy here.

The care is so good and I'm really happy that the resident has settled. Food seems okay but he is so fussy it wouldn't be right. Hopefully the physios will get him mobile.

My brother has recently become a resident. I have visited him on numerous occasions. I have found the facilities and staff to be excellent and I must commend the care shown to my brother. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone who asks. Continue with the good work!
