With a team who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, Cedar Court provides residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. They also provide rehabilitation and pre-bookable respite care breaks.

The home is very much at the heart of the local community. School children often pop in to take part in activities and singing. There is regular entertainment from singers, musicians and choirs, and the local church run regular services for the residents. And there are trips out in the home’s minibus, from pub lunches to garden centres and shopping.

There are so many activities to enjoy, from pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages to animal visits, with everything from snakes and tortoises to rabbits and dogs. And a stone’s throw from the coast, residents often enjoy walks along the harbour.

The home has lots of bright and airy spaces to enjoy, from the lounges, where residents enjoy activities and spending time with loved ones, to the dining rooms, where they enjoy delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the chef. From roast dinners with all the trimmings, to fish and chip Fridays and lighter bites such as home-made soups and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

The residents love to get involved in ‘foody’ activities, baking and cake decoration, making pizzas and pies. And there is always a special menu for special occasions, from afternoon tea to themed nights.

Loved ones, who are welcome at any time, are embraced into life at Cedar Court. There are regular relatives’ meetings and a private family and friends Facebook page, where relatives can see what their loved ones have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

The gardens are wonderful, with wheelchair friendly pathways and raised beds, for residents who enjoy gardening.

Cedar Court also has a beautiful hair salon, for weekly appointments with the mobile hairdresser.

I found the care home to be clean, light and airy. Also, the staff seem to be very friendly and helpful. My friend seemed happy and said she felt safe.

My mum stayed for 10 days as part of her respite care. The atmosphere in the home was marvellous. Staff were wonderful. She thoroughly enjoyed the food. The home was being redecorated, the team of decorators were part of the entertainment package, they were totally professional and very supportive of
the residents, not obtrusive.
In the run-up to Christmas, the entertainment was wonderfully planned and received by the residents. All support provided as part of the respite package was first class. As a visitor, I felt part of a well-run team and I was kept well informed of my Mum's progress.
She was disappointed she made such a good recovery in a short space of time; thanks to the staff and the support received, that it was only a two-week stay. Her transfer to her own flat was well orchestrated.
Cedar Court provided a warm safe environment for my Mum when she needed it. Thank you.

My time at Cedar Court was for rehabilitation. I felt very safe and my room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The staff were attentive without being intrusive. They were always happy to chat if I needed them.

Since coming to the home, I have always been treated well by all the staff. Most will put themselves out when you need them.
I do, however, feel that things are used of a cheap quality which makes me rather annoyed that you are now increasing charges by 8% which is well above the cost of living.

The care mother receives is very good. Mam has a good rapport with her support team. I also have a good rapport with the carers. (I also get a lovely cup of tea!!) Mam gets involved with house activities (as best she can as she has dementia). Overall I'm pleased with her care.
