Chilton Care Centre is in the former mining village of Chilton and the Mainsforth Collieries.

The purpose-built care centre specialises in residential and dementia care for older people.

There are 22 bedrooms upstairs and 18 bedrooms downstairs, each with the benefit of an en-suite shower room.

Chilton Care Centre organises regular activities enabling residents to pursue new and existing hobbies and maintain past times.

I have found the staff very friendly and attentive to my mothers needs. Always displaying patience and understanding with my mother. The staff members try their best to encourage mum to interact with other residents and members of staff to help build bonds. Overall very impressed with Chilton Care Centre.

My mam went into the care home in October 2024. Staff were in the foyer to welcome her and myself. They were friendly and there is always a friendly atmosphere. Since then they have always made sure that her needs are met and that she was settled and comfortable in her new surroundings and home.

My mother has been in the home since February 2025. She ahs settled well. The home gives her everything she needs. The manager welcomed her on her first day. She enjoys the activities and always praises the staff. While visiting at different times of the day I have found all staff pleasant and helpful.
The home is spotlessly clean and everyone seems quite at home here. All in all a good choice.

A joyful experience of visiting my mother. The staff are very helpful and kind to both my family and particularly my mother, they not only provide a fantastic care package but they entertainment on to keep the residents occupied. The food is of a very high standard. I personally am very grateful to
all of the staff for the care and compassion shown to not only my mother but the whole family.

Went in to visit mam, she was sat with other residents having a cup of tea, one of the carers said 'we have a lovely video of your mam dancing with one of the carers' just the two of them sharing a joke and a dance. It was lovely to see. This shows me she was happy. She has a good relationship with
the carers and she was relaxed enough that her personality came through. Personally it brings peace of mind knowing shes in good hands.

Our mam has the best care and she loves being in Chilton Care home and is settled there and she wishes for any care to be done in the care home and does not want to go into the hospital unless absolutely necessary as she is very scared of hospitals and feels more confortable in Chilton Care Home. The
staff are excellent.

Staff are always very helpful and inform us regularly with any updates. There are lots of activities to help keep the residents engaged. The care staff are always very welcoming and appear happy at their work. The communication is good and always keep family's informed of health situations. I think staff would greatly benefit from more training regarding denture care and skin care/maintaining health skin. The staff are always happy to

Decent care home overall but seems to be understaffed at times. This impacts residents and staff alike, especially if people are unwell and cannot make it into work.

Lovely care centre. Staff are always friendly. Excellent service throughout the care centre. I would recommend this care centre to my friends who have elderly parents. Its a piece of mind to know my parent is getting looked after with all her needs.

Excellent home, looks after mam well, cleanliness second to none, friendly, comfortable and meals excellent. Mam always has a choice of meal. Staff very helpful. Always listen and feel I can leave mam and she is getting well looked after.
