Chilton Care Centre is in the former mining village of Chilton and the Mainsforth Collieries.

The purpose-built care centre specialises in residential and dementia care for older people.

There are 22 bedrooms upstairs and 18 bedrooms downstairs, each with the benefit of an en-suite shower room.

Chilton Care Centre organises regular activities enabling residents to pursue new and existing hobbies and maintain past times.

The care, attention and empathy shown to my father has been first-class by all in this care facility. I cannot thank the manager and all of her team enough. The understanding that everyone shows and care taken through my father's illness and condition is of the highest standard.

Visit Auntie weekly, she has settled in the home at the age of 97 after always previously living alone. She seems very happy and content and her care and treatment is wonderful. All the staff make every effort to make them comfortable.

My Mom's been a resident at the home since October 2022 and I was really concerned about how well she would settle giving up her bungalow was such a hard decision. A few weeks later I couldn't have asked for a better place for her to live. The caring, friendly and attentive care she has received is
excellent, giving me the reassurance I really needed. She's settled really well and is very happy with the staff/home.

Staff are lovely and helpful. My friend is always being fed, with lots of fluids offered throughout the day. I love to chat to the other residents on my visit. My friend seems to be happy and has settled in well to the home. It is a homely atmosphere, in the communal area and in the bedrooms, as they
can add their own touch to the bedrooms to make them feel more at home. All the other residents seem happy too. I love to visit.

My Mother went into the care home after leaving hospital and has decided to stay there, she enjoyed it that much. It's like she has been given a new lease of life which is great to see because she is 82 and is very poorly. They certainly know how to look after them.

Lovely care centre, amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly and approachable. As a family, we are always welcome. Staff are passionate about what they do for the residents. The centre is immaculately clean.

Both parents moved into Chilton Care Centre in September and are now permanent residents. The team are fantastic, providing personalised care and support. I have had the privilege of spending quite some time with my parents so have experienced all the different team members and I include 'back of house
' staff in my comments. They have taken time to know both parents as individuals and their likes/dislikes/interests/backgrounds. I love that my mam continues to be 'dressed' every day in her coordinating outfits. I'm delighted that more activities are being delivered and know this is making a difference. Dad initially kept telling me that they were in a local hotel - as it was a 4 star one that indicates his appreciation of the surroundings, staff and food. Both parents' nutrition and hydration is really important and has improved whilst being resident. Food's cooked on the premises and is delicious. I can relax knowing my parents are safe, being well cared for and most importantly are happy.

Mam entered this care home in May 2021 due to not being safe at home, even with four times-a-day home care visits. She settled in immediately and during her final twenty-two months spoke nothing but highly of the staff and care she received. As a family, we are eternally grateful for the care and dignity
that she was given during her final time with us. I am in no doubt that her life was extended by the care she received in this wonderful care home and its amazing staff. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

The care my dad receives is always personal and of a high standard. They know him and his ways and needs. Dad can sometimes be grumpy but is always understood by the carers.
Communication is of a very high standard and on many levels, goes above and beyond expectations.
I'm very happy with Dad's care
and more importantly, he's happy.

The staff were very helpful in easing the transition for Mam to settle into her new surroundings.
They create such a friendly atmosphere and I've noticed how they are attentive to an individual's needs.

I would recommend this care home. The care staff are amazing, they are the best I have ever seen and had dealings with. I work in a care home and the staff in Chilton Care Centre are 100% better than anywhere I have seen. The management are helpful and nothing is a problem to them. Truly amazing.

I feel forever grateful to Chilton Care Centre for the way they care for my nana. They are compassionate, understanding and brilliant at what they do. My nana thinks the world of so many of the girls now. Care work is exceptionally hard yet these angels do it with ease.
The manager is also fabulous,
keeping family in the loop when it comes to care, as well as genuinely caring about her residents and their experience.
Thank you to you all, from the carers to the chefs to the domestic staff- your hard work does not go unseen.

I simply cannot rate or recommend Chilton Care Centre highly enough. We have been going through one of the most difficult times and the manager and her team have supported us every step of the way and made us feel at ease. The support and care they provide are second to none and the facilities are excellent!

I find Chilton Care Centre to be exceptional in everything they do, the staff I believe are second to none, they always go out of their way when I visit they are always very friendly and accommodating always a cup of tea if I want one regardless of the time and a biscuit of course, there’s always plenty
of activities for the residents which I find keeps my mother occupied and she certainly enjoys whatever is on, she’s always up for a dance or song and they always get the residents involved in certain activities. I find the room, my mother is in to be nice and spacious her own en suite, my mother certainly likes it here which is certainly half the battle knowing we can leave her and she’ll be looked after. I will never rate any care home with 5 stars, that is not a negative as such but can’t believe all care homes can charge what they do, for the residency especially if you are a paying resident, it certainly doesn’t pay to do well for yourself in life.
