My husband was at Church View for respite to give me a break. My husband has Alzheimers.
A few weeks later he got much worse and I couldn't look after him anymore. I have no hesitation in choosing Church View for his permanent stay.

My mother came to the care home 6 months ago. As an independent lady, it took a few months for her to settle in but that was expected to start with, however, she has settled in really well now and says the staff are great and she likes it there.
All the staff have been lovely and friendly to me. I
have the utmost respect for them as they are so patient and kind to my mother. I could not do their job and think they deserve to be paid more. Staff at the care home are specialised in dementia care and these skills are noticed by me. I know another resident in the home so it is good to pop in and see her too. Very friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it for others.

My mother has recently become a resident and during this traumatic time, the care home staff have been wonderful. They are always very friendly and welcoming and the care my mother is getting is second to none. We are so happy to have discovered this particular care home. As well as the professionalism
and kindness of the staff, the actual premises is so clean, warm and secure. We feel quite content in the knowledge that my mother is getting the best possible care and that she is now in a safe environment under the watchful care of the lovely staff.

My mam has been in Church View for 4 1/2 years. She has dementia. My experience at Church View, where I visit most days is always an upbeat and happy one. The girls are always willing to do what is asked of them to keep my mam happy. Mam's room is always clean and tidy and the recent refurbishment is
fabulous. The manager is always asking if everything is Ok and the office staff are efficient and friendly. Altogether this is a lovely care home.

I have to travel 100 miles + to visit my sister. I have always been well received by all the staff and have the impression of professional outlook by all.
The care home has always been well maintained and probably the best in the area.

Staff are always pleasant and friendly. Nothing seems to be too much trouble if we ask for anything. Mum seems to be very well cared for. All the staff acknowledge Mum and always say hello to her as she passes them. Nice room, kept clean. Mum is always clean and dressed when my sister and I visit.

The first experience of the nursing home is in itself very caring and homely. My mam's room is very adequate with a warm feel to it that address her needs. The staff are very efficient in their role, if something needs to be done, they go out of their way to see that it is done and going that extra
mile, very good customer needs. My wife and I very much appreciate the care from this nursing home, a good service is being provided. Thank you.

It took a while but my mum eventually settled into the care home, that was because the staff were caring and patient with her. Everyone is treated with respect. The staff interact with the residents which is great.
They make activities fun and help the residents if they struggle with joining in. I
feel very happy that my mum is happy and content in her new surroundings.

We never thought dad would settle in a home but he seems to have settled here. The staff all seem to be friendly and kind towards him, even the cleaners. My dad is in the early stages of dementia and is incontinent after suffering a stroke. He wouldn't let carers look after him at home and we were finding
it very difficult. I think they do very good work there and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the home to other people.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.538)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.538) out of 10 for Church View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.849 for Church View is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 3.849

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.689 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church View is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.889

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
