Fabulous staff and accommodalways something for the residents to do and I would not hesitate recommending langley house to anyone. A lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff are professional and friendly always.

Langley House is a lovely friendly place, great staff, good accommodation, good food, lovely and warm, great activities to keep the residents busy and active. A really good place to be! They take them to the beach out on activities and to places to see. Good atmosphere!

Dad moved into Langley House Residential Care Home in Horden in November 2025. Sadly, he had a fall a few days after being there but the staff were quick to call an ambulance and dad was taken good care of until it arrived. After his operation, he went back to Langley House. The staff are absolutely
lovely.
They're so kind, patient and helpful and take such good care of the residents. Although he has only been there a short time, they have helped make him feel very welcome. The food is great and plentiful. There was something going on to entertain the residents every day in the run up to Christmas. Some of the local children came in to sing carols, there was a nativity play and an Elvis tribute to name but a few things. It's so nice to see the smiles in so many faces. Let's hope it continues.

Brilliant care home! Staff couldn't do enough for the residents and their families, they are all lovely and friendly and treat my nana great. The home is spotless and has everything that my nana needs. My nana loves the food she always says she gets well looked after.

Very happy with the care mam receives. Staff are very friendly and polite and always seem to get mam engaged with all the activities despite her dementia which she enjoys. The home itself especially her room are always clean and tidy.

Since Mam has came into Langley House she has become less distressed with her vascular dementia. She takes part in the activities especially when there is entertainment on as she loves music. The staff take really good care of her which is such a comfort knowing she is safe and happy. She enjoys her
meals and she has a lovely room.
Over the moon with the service provided couldn't recommend enough.

Mother loved her time in this home, she found it hard to leave her home of 60 years but the staff and home could not do enough for her, unfortunately, we lost Mother on January 24, but just to say her final days were made as good as we could have wished.

My mam was a resident in Langley House for around 4 months due to poor mobility and was in need of 24-hour care, first impression on visiting before Mam moved in to look around was polite, friendly and happy by all the staff, lovely spacious rooms, clean and well decorated, just ready to move in, the
staff went above and beyond to help with her needs even at difficult times when Mam would tend to be stubborn and challenging. I would recommend Langley House for all care needs, the staff are amazing, thank you for all the love and care giving to my mam.

Mam always seems content whenever I visit. She's well cared for and fed. I know this, as she's put on weight!
On my last visit, they were having a Halloween party. Mam and many others were up dancing and singing, having a wonderful time.
All the staff are friendly and caring. I've noticed they're
very efficient at getting all their residents up and into the dining hall at meal times, no matter what level of assistance the resident needs.
I've visited different days and times and I have always been welcomed by staff members and they are always on hand caring for their residents.

Lovely home, always clean, and the staff are all very kind and helpful. My Nanna enjoys the activities and enjoys taking part when possible. She enjoys being able to go in the bath and having the hairdresser come to do her hair.

What a beautiful care home. Could not praise this place enough my Nana feels right at home and so comfortable, happy, and well looked after.

My nana was in Langley House for a short time and received end-of-life care witch as a family we feel was amazing, the staff and management made sure she was comfortable and pain-free and treated with the utmost dignity and respect and us as a family were made to feel welcome day and night and always

Cannot say enough about Langley House, the staff and management are always on hand and can't do enough for my mam, she is always smiling and never has a bad word to say. She always has plenty of activities to do each day which she loves and her room is the best always clean and tidy and warm for her,

This care home is the best one in the area, it's the only place where my mother-in-law has felt comfortable and happy. The staff are amazing right the way from management to cleaning staff, nothing is ever a problem and they can't do enough for you and the residents. Every time we visit the home is
always clean and smells lovely the rooms are really spacious and always lovely and warm, this place is definitely one that I would recommend for a loving caring home for your loved ones to stay.

Cannot fault the care our mam receives, it is one of the best care homes going and deserves the rating of outstanding. We as a family can go home knowing she is well looked after. They go above and beyond and staff are always friendly and caring. Management, we can't fault in any way, again they go

I have worked in the care sector since the age of 18. I completed a Health and Social Care course in sixth form and completed a 6-week placement in a care home, and from then I knew working in care was what I wanted to do. I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Senior Care then Deputy Manager then Manager. I have completed my GNVQ in Health and Social Care, I have my NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. I started for Ascot Care in 2007 as Senior Carer then Deputy Manager in 2009 till I progressed to Home Manager of Langley House in 2022.


During my 2 years at Langley House, we have gone from “requires improvement” to “Good” in all areas, and we are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement.

I have worked at Langley House since 2010. I started as a Kitchen Assistant and worked my way up to Carer, Senior Carer and now Deputy Manager. I have my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and I have my NVQ in Team Leading. When I started as a Kitchen Assistant it was lovely working with the elderly and made me want to progress in the care side, which I have loved over the past 14 years. We are the first home in the North East to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Home, which is an achievement. I take a great interest in this as I have family in the service, and it has been very rewarding to complete this accreditation.
