Welcome to Field View.

Located in Blackhall Colliery, a former mining village on the North Sea coast of County Durham close to Peterlee and Horden, Field View is located on Hesleden Road between Castle Eden and Hartlepool. Nestled behind Yohden Care Complex and surrounded by fields and grassed areas the home is a tranquil environment for residents who are looking for general or EMI dementia residential care.

There is ample car parking at the home for visitors and the closest bus stop from the home is located at the Hardwick Hotel on Middle Street which is a 0.5 mile stroll to the home which is visited by the 23, 24 Sapphire, 55 and 206 IndiGo bus.

The home is a single storey, purpose-built building, which has a secure, central courtyard containing outdoor seating and raised flower beds for green fingered residents who enjoy gardening and an accessible green house at the front of the home ideal for growing the home's own fruit and vegetables.

Inside the home, you will find a coffee shop where hot drinks are available complimentary, a modern lounge with Radio, TV and DVD player, comfortable dining room serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, pub room, activities room and hair salon where residents can come and enjoy being pampered weekly. All bedrooms are en-suite with furniture provided with communal shower rooms and spa bath amenities.

They have a dedicated activities coordinator on site and residents enjoy activities in and out of the home as well as 1 to 1 time.

They have a 5-star award in Food Hygiene (July 2023) and were proud to be a winner of the MMCG Christmas Cake competition in 2019. They believe food is a huge aspect their care at Field View and residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley with drinks and cakes throughout the day.

The home is very clean. Staff are very polite and helpful. The food is very good. My friend says that there is a lot of food on his plate.

When we were first asked to come and see this care home we were very impressed with the first view of the grounds and even more impressed when we were taken around the home. The staff were very polite and helpful after my husband was accepted the care from management has been excellent as with the staff
to both of us and my husband. I thank them all very much.

I am very happy with the care and treatment that my mother receives. The staff maintain a positive attitude in difficult circumstances and the mood around the place is high.

The staff are very caring and friendly and really care. A special mention to two ladies who go above and beyond. The care home is always clean and tidy. Rated value for money as good as last when self-funding it was expensive, however, good care outweighs the cost.

The initial assessment by the manager prior to admission was carried out in a professional manner and demonstrated a clear understanding of mother's needs.
Since admission, the professionalism of all the staff involved in her day to day care has been unquestionable. It is apparent that all of the
residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
The atmosphere in the building is warm and welcoming from all members of the staff.

I have great admiration for the staff. Everyone is so pleasant and caring. I have never known a building to be so clean and sparkly. The atmosphere is home from home. My brother-in-law is deaf and non-vocal but he loves every one of the carers there. Not only carers but cleaners, dinner ladies and everyone
else. I am so fortunate to have him living in this beautiful care home.

My mum is cared for with respect and kindness.
She has been in Field View now for over 3 years and we have never had a problem. If I need to talk to the manager or staff about mum and any concerns I have I can approach them easily, knowing they are ever ready to help out in as many ways as possible.

Everything is 100%. All the staff are very efficient and attentive, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The resident's needs are their main concern.
The rooms etc are always clean and tidy and the food is excellent. The menu is varied and well planned as well as being well prepared. A very varied
program of entertainment is enjoyed by the residents and visitors.
This is a very efficient and caring place with wonderful staff.

Michelle came to Field View as Deputy Manager from our sister home at Yohden Care Complex where Michelle worked in 2018 as Senior Care Assistant and worked her way up to a Care Practitioner and took over running the lodge as unit manager.
