Eden Cottage is a “home from home” where residents can feel at home in a friendly, secure and relaxed environment. Professionals strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of residents and remain sensitive to each person’s ever-changing needs.

All residents are treated as individuals and are encouraged to enjoy life at the Home and to maximise their intellectual, social and physical potential. Staff recognise that family and friends have an invaluable part to play in a resident’s wellbeing, and encourage visits whenever possible.

All staff are appropriately qualified to ensure that they deliver the highest standards of care. Staff undergo continuous training and development of their skills and experience to ensure that they maintain these standards at all times.

Eden Cottage is a family run business which was established in 1989. They provide 24 hour residential care, dementia care, day care and respite care for older people. The building is a single storey building with no stairs or lifts to undertake. It is set in beautifully kept picturesque gardens. There are 25 bedrooms with en-suite facilities, all furnished to a high standard to provide maximum comfort and safety. There are two bathrooms, complete with hoist facilities and a walk-in shower room.

There is a large communal lounge, which is fitted with a flat screen TV where films are shown and special events are broadcast. There is a seaside themed communal area for residents to enjoy, and also a small quiet conservatory, situated at the front of the home, overlooking the beautiful garden for those residents who wish to relax in peace. They have a large dining room where meals are served.

The home also has a landscaped decking area at the rear of the home, and a paved area with a fixed parasol and garden furniture, where residents and their visitors can enjoy endless hours of sunshine in the summer months.

The staff at Eden Cottage are superb. My mum stayed for a few weeks and probably protested a bit - she wanted to be at home. The caring attitude of everyone I met there reassured me that she was being looked after with great kindness. Thank you all.

A hidden gem. This is a really lovely home. My father was here for a few months respite while he recovered from a stint in hospital. I can honestly say the all staff here are amazing and couldn't do enough for my dad. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with a lovely view of the gardens.
The food looked amazing also and got great reviews from dad. A lovely experience and he didn't want to leave.

My father-in-law spent a couple of months at Eden Cottage Care Home in respite care whilst a care package was put in place ready for him to return home after a short stay in hospital. He settled in well and was happy to be there during his stay. The staff were lovely, really welcoming and friendly and
they always made an effort with my father-in-law. We were impressed with the quality and variety of the meals that were provided as well. We would definitely recommend Eden Cottage. Thank you to all the staff involved with his care!

My mam has been at Eden Cottage Care Home for the past 5 years and has been very happy there. She became ill just before Christmas and we chose to keep her at Eden Cottage instead of sending her to hospital. The care she received was far better than she would have received in hospital. One of the carers,
sat with her during the night. Sadly she passed on Christmas Eve but I wouldn't have wished for a better place to be. The home really feels like one big family, all the carers and staff are lovely.

My father has been in Eden Cottage for nearly 18 months. From his arrival, my father has always been well looked after and all of his needs met. The staff are friendly and caring. They always let me know of any issues or needs that my father has and take care of them without any fuss.
The main plus
for me is that my father settled into Eden Cottage really quickly and seems very happy there. He likes the staff and enjoys the meals.
I was apprehensive about my father going into care, even though he was no longer able to live independently and it was the best option for him. However, since moving into Eden Cottage, the care that he has received and the friendliness of all of the staff has been a comfort to me.
It's a small home, so I feel that everyone receives a more personal and greater level of care than I would have normally expect.

My grandmother is a resident at Eden Cottage with advanced Dementia. They have taken exceptional care of her over the years as her Dementia has progressed and eaten away at her personality, which at times, has brought out difficult traits. They handle her with such care, attention, knowledge and dignity.
Something I know she would be personally grateful for. She thoroughly enjoys the activities and excursions the home organise for the residents and it's lovely to know she isn't just sitting in a chair staring at a wall.
On a personal note, the home helped my family navigate the most difficult loss of my mother during COVID (my grandmother's only daughter) and gave me as the now, next of kin, the confidence that she was in the best place for her, being looked after by a team which truly cares and is passionate about what they do. As I live in London and not able to visit as often as I would like, it gives me great comfort to know she is safe and happy at Eden Cottage Care Home.

My son-in-law spent approx 6 weeks in Eden Cottage. The staff were warm and friendly. My relative's care was of the best. He was very happy and contented during his stay despite having to have hospital stays just overnight due to catheter problems. We could visit whenever we wanted to. Would like to
stay there myself when it's needed.

Excellent! My dad was a resident at Eden Cottage for several years, from his very first visit to his last days he was made to feel like part of the 'family'. The staff at Eden Cottage are the best you will find anywhere, they always went above and beyond to make sure that my dad received the best care
available and was always treated with dignity and respect. This also included looking after my wife and I by making us feel welcome at every visit and also by dialling the phone number so that my dad could stay in touch with us when we were unable to visit and also when he wanted to order his extra bits of shopping.


There really are 'No Words', Eden Cottage is the Home away from Home a place where you know your loved one will be taken care of and treated with the utmost respect and dignity, at the highest level of excellence (Residents always come first). If you need a Care Home, there is nowhere else but Eden Cottage. Thank you all - you truly are Angels.

Our father was a resident at Eden Cottage for almost 3 years. He suffered from dementia but settled quickly when he moved into the home. This was entirely due to the caring and compassionate nature of all the staff. We were kept updated and involved in all aspects of Dad's care attending appropriate
reviews whenever required. There is a low turnover of staff so the continuity of care is excellent. Regular social events are organised that take place within the home with family and friends welcome to attend.
Eden Cottage is a fabulous care home and a credit to the owners, managers and all the staff. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this home.

Dad was at Eden Cottage for nine months and we couldn’t fault the care he received there. We initially went for a visit, which was unannounced, and we were welcomed straight away. Dad settled in quickly and the staff would go above and beyond to make sure his needs were met. They also supported the
whole family, making sure we were ok and they knew us by name and we were welcomed wherever we visited. We felt Dad was treated as an individual and always treated with dignity and respect. We will always remember Eden Cottage with a smile because they allowed us to have quality time again with Dad and not be his carer when we visited. Thank you all, you are all amazing.

Mum has now been at Eden Cottage for over three years and I cannot fault the care she is receiving. It is small enough to feel really homely and Mum is treated as a member of the family rather than as a resident. The staff are just amazing and endlessly patient and compassionate, even though Mum (who
suffers from dementia) can be quite a challenge. I have absolute trust in them to have her best interests at heart. It is so reassuring to know that she is in such good hands, especially as I live at the other end of the country and cannot visit as often as I would like. Her room is always spotlessly clean, she seems to enjoy her meals and has made friends with some of the residents. I always receive a warm welcome when I visit and carers are happy to talk when I phone to see how Mum is. It is all more than I could have hoped for and I am so grateful to everyone who works there.

My mam has been living at Eden Cottage now for nearly 3 years and suffers from Dementia. This small family-run care home is absolutely excellent. The staff are so caring and treat her with respect. She is happy there and I know she is safe and has been well throughout her stay. There is a garden at
the back too. If you are lucky enough to be offered a place here for your loved one I would not hesitate to take a place. The staff and Management are amazing and I don't have to worry about my mam as I know they are caring for her and I have ultimate trust in them all. I feel so lucky my mam is being looked after there. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
