Anchor’s Elderwood is located at the heart of the community in Darlington.

The home continues to welcome new residents for friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 40 customers in single en suite rooms. Residents have the benefit of the Elderwood Arms pub area within the home.

Detailed care plans are created for each resident to ensure their changing needs are always met throughout their time at the home. Staff work hard to build strong relationships with customers and receive on-going dementia training to provide the best care for those living at Elderwood.

The home is owned by Anchor, England's largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for the over 55s. With 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit organisation, the group aims to continually raise standards and exceed expectations by reinvesting money made to improve their services and properties.

I think everything about Elderwood is excellent. The managers are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The only thing I find I have trouble with is the heating system in my room, I find it hard to turn the button on the radiator, but staff assist me with this when I cannot manage.
