The staff at Grosvenor Park Care Home are very caring and attentive to all Mam's needs. Nothing is too much trouble. They are a credit to the home. Mam is very comfortable and enjoys all the activities the home provides, especially the music and entertainment. In the summertime, the garden is a lovely
place to sit and enjoy an afternoon cup of tea.

My mum is very settled at Grosvenor Park and the staff treat her with dignity and as an individual. The staff are friendly and understanding and approachable. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit and have got to know the staff well. I am confident that my mum is well looked after and should
there be any concerns for her welfare that members of her family would be informed.

Overall I had a great experience.
The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly when I first arrived. The food requirements wasn't fully catered for. All staff were excellent. I was made to feel so welcome. The main complaint was the cleanliness of the kitchen in the residents' dining area, the microwave,
toaster and kettle were dirty, filthy until they got a new one and the inside lid of the kitchen bin was never cleaned, it was filthy.

Reply from Jackie Brook, Care Relationships at Grosvenor Park Care Home

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're really glad to hear that you had a positive experience overall and that our staff made you feel so welcome. However, we sincerely apologise for the cleanliness issues you encountered. This is certainly not the standard we aim for and we'll be addressing this with our housekeeping and kitchen teams to ensure it doesn't happen again. Your comments are very important to us and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can continue to improve. If there's anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

Bedroom lights are very dim. Patio and paths need urgent attention. Food is ok but a bit bland and lacks choice. Could do with cups with larger handles i.e. mugs. Clients would find them easier to use and encourage hydration.
Overall staff work very hard to care for residents and relatives.

Reply from Jackie Brook, Care Relationships at Grosvenor Park Care Home

My wife has recently experienced slight swallowing difficulties. The Grosvenor Park team responded promptly and appropriately and arranged for a S.A.L.T team to visit and address my wife's problem. This resulted in an immediate adjustment to her dietary needs and has been implemented. After consultation,
it has also been decided to transfer my wife by hoist, in order to secure her safety and that of staff.

This care home is absolutely fantastic. They all really care about their residents, and the monitoring by seniors is spot on, with a brilliant teamwork structure in effect. The seniors go above and beyond their call of duty to ensure what needs to be done is done. My mum recently had a crisis, and the
senior in charge, took full responsibility, and when unable to reach me by phone after calling four times went to my house and sent a family member of hers out to look for me, where she suspected I may be. Mum was taken to hospital after this staff member deemed it necessary to call emergency paramedics, and as Mum was extremely poorly, this was totally the right move. This was also the 2nd time a similar had occurred. All the staff are very aware and on the ball, and I am so glad I chose this home for my mum. The manager is also fully aware at all times of all that is going on, as seems very 'hands-on' and involved with both her staff and residents. Cannot fault this place at all. Perfect.

I was admitted to care after the hospital discharged me and I was assessed as needing 24-hour care by Social Services. My experience at Grosvenor Park Care Home was excellent. All involved in my care have done their very best to look after me, for which I am very grateful. The manager was very careful
to make sure my needs were met and went out of her way to help me many times. I am very grateful for her help and also for her administrator.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.864)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.864) out of 10 for Grosvenor Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.226 for Grosvenor Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.226

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.638 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor Park Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.738

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
