The Lawns Residential Care Home is located close to the famous Darlington railway station, with the clock tower visible from the home, and is also close to local shops.


The Lawns is a purpose built home which provides individual care for each resident, whether short respite care or permanent care.


All 62 single rooms have en-suite facilities, a nurse call system and smoke detectors. There is a lift and full wheelchair access throughout the home.

Completely satisfied with our stepfather's care. Staff are very friendly towards us and very caring with our stepfather.

My cousin has been a resident of the Lawns for 10 months, he is obviously well settled and happy. I am extremely impressed with all aspects and facilities in the home.
All the staff from the management, carers and domestic workers are all very kind, patient and courteous with the residents and their
relatives.


The home is very clean and the decoration delightful.


The meals are very good and the residents are given a choice each day.

The service my uncle received in the care home was excellent, he was well cared for and treated with great dignity. His room was cleaned daily as were all the lounges and dining rooms. The staff cared for my uncle like a friend and we found the same for all the other residents.
My uncle enjoyed eating
and always praised the food he was given. We think the management and staff do a great job and we can't thank them enough. We would definitely recommend The Lawns Care Home.

A care home that really cares. The staff are excellent, caring, friendly and helpful. My mum settled quickly and was very happy. Food excellent and always a welcoming cuppa for visitors. Sadly mum passed away in January but the staff were wonderful.

I find the staff out of this world and nothing is too much trouble. The home is immaculate and the rooms are very clean and tidy. My wife likes to go into the garden and she lights up when she sees the home's therapy rabbit. She likes to join in with the dancing. She enjoys the range of food on offer.

My mum is well looked after and the staff are really lovely. She is always kept clean and tidy and is always included in activities. The Lawns Care Home provide a first class service and I feel that mum is being well cared for.

Sharon Daglish

I have worked at the Lawns Care home since November 2020. I started my career in care as a care assistant and have worked up to my current position of Deputy Home Manager, I have gained NVQs 2 and 3 in care, safe handling of medications, moving and handling, team leadership, and first aider.


I live in Spennymoor with my husband. I have three children and three step-children. I am a proud grandma of nine grandchildren.


The thing I like most about working at The Lawns Care Home is I enjoy spending time with and ensuring my residents are safe, clean and tidy. I like knowing that I am helping them to enjoy their retirement years in a comfortable and homely environment as much as possible. My priority at work is my resident's well-being, seeing a resident smile is all the reward I need.

Job Title: Administrator

I have worked at The Lawns Care home for coming up to a year and a half. In my previous position I worked for a training company which I was there for 7 years but really fancied a career change into something completely different. I took on the role of the home administrator and must say it’s the best thing I have ever done!


I have 18 year’s experience within Administration and a wealth of knowledge and experience across this area. I have gained Diploma Level 2 Business Administration, NCFE Level 2 certificates in Equality & Diversity, Care & Management of Diabetes, Safeguarding & Prevent.


I live near Bishop Auckland with my husband, son and a goldendoodle dog named Miley who is a massive part of our family.


Any spare time I have, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching TV/films, shopping and walking my dog.


The thing I love most about working at The Lawns is seeing the residents having fun, enjoying themselves and seeing the smiles on their faces which really does make it all worthwhile.

My name is Olivia and I have worked at The Lawns care home for 10 years. I love the happy friendly atmosphere here and all the staff and management work together as a team. I go home from work feeling happy that I have helped the residents during this horrible time that everyone is going through.

I have worked in care for 37yrs.I have worked in a few homes in the Darlington area, I have also worked in a care home in Middleton St George. I have worked in The Lawns for nearly 13 years. I left to work in another care home but missed the residents and staff, so returned and remained here.
I have NVQ in social care both 2 and 3, I also have training in safeguarding, medication, first aid and many more over the years.
I have four children three boys and one girl. I live in Darlington with my husband Conrad who works for the army. We have four grandchildren two girls two boys. During m my days off I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren.
My priority at work has always been my residents ensuring all residents are happy and well cared for, I get joy from seeing them smile.
