My grandad found it hard moving into a home even though he is 100 he is still fiercely independent. All the staff are brilliant and take care of my grandad and keep us up to date on how he is and any problems. They have regular events that we can see on their website or come to the home and see grandad
albeit at a distance just now. Thank you for everyone at Moorlands for caring and keeping our grandad happy and safe.

Moorlands is home from home. A friendly atmosphere and staff that care. They go over and above in the care and consideration given to the residents. My father only moved into Moorlands 3 months ago but has settled so well thanks to everyone at Moorlands. I would recommend Moorlands to anyone looking
for a "home" for their loved ones. My father is 92-years-old, so we have been really pleased he has settled and that he is happy in his new home.

Since his arrival at Moorlands in December 2019, my father has been treated as part of a family and not just a resident. The staff are all interested in his wellbeing and have his best interests at heart. They seem to always go the extra mile for him and for us, informing us of any problems he has had
and telling us funny stories involving him. I cannot praise this home highly enough.

My grandfather was transferred to Moorlands from another care facility in the region. He was met by warm welcoming staff and other residents.
Moorlands has demonstrated such a personalised approach to his care and have really taken the time to get to know him and in my eyes gone the extra mile to welcome
him into his new home.
It is nice to see him being stable in his health difficulties which I feel is down to the care he receives in Moorlands.
Staff are always friendly and welcoming to us during our visits.

Family run and long service staff. Friendly and helpful. 5 week's stay was an enormous help to enable me to return home. After a fall and fractured humorous, I had severely restricted movement and it put a strain on myself and husband (carer).
Bed available at very short notice and close to home. Available
physio provided. Room pleasant and quiet. Very adequate size. Staff assisted with short distance return home.

My beloved aunt receives excellent care from all the staff at Moorlands. She is obviously very happy and content. She feels safe and well cared for by people who really know and value the person she is. Every care is taken of all her needs and all her likes and dislikes are fully understood. Staff take
time to talk to her about the things which are important to her, they know her and her family well. They remember the details of her life that she has told them, so she feels loved, valued and cared for. As she is now extremely frail, I feel secure in knowing that she is loved and well cared for so I do not have to worry about her coming to the end of her life. Thank you to all the staff and the excellent management which make this all possible.

Friendly staff. I have been coming for about 10 years and very nice on the phone. The owners and their son who run the place are very pleasant folks. Some of the toilet room fittings require tightening up (loose taps), one dual flush doesn't work properly, the carpet in the downstairs lounge, dark green,
needs replacing due to wear and tear. Due to it being an old building/houses in the past, converted to use as a care home - it is a rabbit warren of confusing corridors and ground floor, level one - down level is opposite the front door and should have a safety barrier installed to prevent falls.

My mother has been at Moorlands for approximately 3 years and it is a family run home in a converted old building. My mother and I prefer both of these situations, as opposed to a new built large facility with management that rarely visits the home.

My mam was cared for at home for 8 years by Moorlands Care staff and enjoyed their help throughout this time. Unfortunately, last year her condition got worse and was asked by doctors if she would be better in a care home where she can be cared for 24 hours a day rather than 3/4 times a day.
I had
no hesitation in asking if Moorlands had any space for my mam. Luckily, they had and she was admitted in May 2018.
Amazingly her condition improved against all odds.
The staff are so kind and nothing is too much trouble for them, they take time to also set aside time to speak to the relatives and friends of the resident. this was a huge comfort to me.
My mam sadly passed away on the 3rd of March 2019, peacefully in Moorlands and I just need to say that the staff could not have done and said any more to our family in this sad time.
If anyone is looking for somewhere to find a happy, friendly and lovely place to live, I strongly urge you to go and speak and feel this homely home.

A lovely family run home. The care is amazing, a very relax friendly environment. The food always looks and smells so good. Nothing is too much for the staff and all the residents are happy and content.

During my 88-year-old Aunt's residence, her care was exceptional. Even though she had dementia, she was included in events and treats which are organised regularly. My aunt was treated with dignity throughout, right up until her recent passing. All the staff showed genuine care and compassion to my
aunt and me when I visited. The food was nutritious and always looked appetising. I was always made welcome and my aunt looked happy and well cared for right to end. It is a very good care home with lovely and efficient management and staff.

What makes Moorlands Care Home great is its staff. They are all professional and genuinely caring. Nothing seems too much trouble. I hated having my Gran in a care home but I couldn't have picked a better one.
At Moorlands I knew Gran was safe and cared for not only physically but emotionally too.
Gran was treated with respect and was happy there. Moorlands is definitely not one of the fanciest care homes you will visit but instead of fancy decor what they offer is priceless - a staff that is dedicated and that works hard to deliver the best possible care to all of their residents all of the time. They are friendly, thoughtful, funny, caring, hardworking, thorough and conscientious. I cannot praise them enough.
Gran passed away in February at age 94 from natural causes. Had I had to choose a care home again I would choose Moorlands every time.

Moorlands is an amazing care home. I couldn’t imagine my Gran in a better one, to be honest! The staff are all lovely and go above and beyond to make the residents and their families feel at home when they come to visit. It doesn’t just feel like you’re in a care home, it feels like you’re at home which
is what I like about it most.


The rooms are lovely and of a good size, the facilities are all to a high standard and the meals are freshly made and always look nice. There is always some form of activity going on, from miniature Shetland ponies visiting to singers and magicians, the residents are never bored or looking for things to do. I couldn’t recommend this care home any more highly, or thank them enough for everything they do for us with the care and compassion they show towards my gran.

All the staff are welcoming and lovely. Everybody is very nice. The care home is clean and tidy, it is well looked after. There are plenty of facilities and there are many activities to do. The rooms are of a good size. As awesome care home.

A family run business where nothing is too much for the carers- they always treat the residents with respect and warmth, always having time to just chat. They are always smiling and cheerful with residents and visitors alike. A range of activities are provided to entertain the residents- from games
evenings to film afternoons, singing groups and even a Shetland pony visit! Services including hairdressing and nail painting are available for the resident's convenience.
Families and residents are involved in discussions and decision-making, everything is a mutual decision.
Medical care is extremely well handled and organised with each resident having their own care file. Medications always being distributed efficiently. As well as their health concerns, the residents overall well-being and happiness are extremely important, and the family, resident and carers have a monthly review to discuss how everything is going and to raise any concerns.
Food is tasty and everybody's choices are catered for.

My Nana has been a resident at Moorlands for nearly two years. We moved her after she received poor service at another local care home. We had originally chosen the other care home as it was slightly more modern in decor, however, after the move, Moorlands has proved that their high standards of care
far surpass the majority of places. There are always staff on hand who know what's going on and their knowledge is the same for each individual. The staff are friendly and make it easy for families to enjoy spending time with their loved ones. During Christmas and birthdays, the place is jolly and festive and all residents are involved. Couldn't recommend a place more.

My brother-in-law has been resident at Moorlands for almost two years. He had been in very poor health, physically and mentally for several years, and was not capable of taking care of himself, and indeed did not want to take care of himself. His health had deteriorated to a worrying state. The manager
and her team made him welcome, and the care they provided worked wonders. The staff really do care. The improvement in him was dramatic. The staff are always welcoming when you visit and are always up to speed with how he is doing. I made a point of looking at catering facilities, and at food deliveries when they coincided with my visits. The food is fresh, wholesome and well prepared by the catering team. Portions are very good as well. While Moorlands may not be a highly polished modern ‘palace’, it is homely with excellent caring staff, which is perhaps more important to residents and their relatives. For their standard of care, I think that Moorlands would be very hard to beat.
