Thank you for your comments regarding our staff team; we work hard to recruit the right carers and ensure they are inducted and trained to a high standard. We continually review our rota's to ensure we are continually meeting the needs of our residents as their health needs change. We would like to apologise for any concerns you experienced with your Mum's catering service. We are in the process of recruiting new staff to the catering team and the food service is being monitored by the General Manager and Regional team. We operate an open-door policy and extend a warm invitation to all our residents and families to discuss any concerns they may have.

We would like to respond by explaining that our staffing levels are reviewed regularly, the outcome depends on occupancy and individual dependency levels. Therefore staff ratios may differ at times. I was pleased to note that you have observed improvements in the home; we will continue to make changes to the environment of the home to the benefit of our residents. Our activities team continue to develop their lifestyle programme to enhance the programme to include mind, body and soul stimulation based on our Residents interests and hobbies and we actively encourage our Residents families to participate and would welcome your input to support our garden area. We have recently purchased a new small greenhouse to support this.
You are welcome to meet with me when next you visit the home to discuss any concerns that you may have so that we can address these immediately they occur.

I have worked for Barchester for just over 6 years now, starting as a senior carer and working my way up to Deputy Manager and now General Manager.
I have worked for the care sector since 2002 in various care settings, including other care homes and hospitals. I am very passionate about providing high-quality person-centred care to those we support.
