My mother was at Castleview for two years. The staff are excellent; very friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and tidy. They really stepped up to the mark during Covid-19, keeping my mam safe and well, as well as others. Would totally recommend it for your loved ones. End of life care was brilliant;
my mam went with dignity and love. Thank you.

My mother has been at Castleview for just under a year now, and I am extremely happy with her care and appearance. She is happy and settled very quickly. The home keeps me informed and has been excellent during the pandemic. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and manager!

It is with difficulty that I find words to express such excellence found in Castleview. Care, understanding and empathy with patients are of the highest level. I never cease to be aware of such high professionalism throughout the home. I have yet to meet any member of staff who does not smile and say
hello whenever our paths cross. I feel fortunate that my wife is in the care of Castleview.

My mother was a resident of Castleview from early March to late April 2020. Her residency there was cut short by an illness from which she died on May 10th in hospital. During her time in the care home she was treated with compassion and respect, despite this incredibly stressful time. The staff
are wonderful and highly responsive, not only to my mother but also to her daughters. My only regret is that we didn't persuade my mother to become a Castleview resident earlier. I send my heartfelt thanks to all the staff. They are heroes.

My uncle was admitted to Castleview Care Home for respite care initially in September 2017. He became a full-time resident in November and unfortunately died in January 2018. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. They are a caring, empathetic and very professional group of people who made the
final months of my uncle's life settled, happy and content. He did not find the move from his own home easy to accept but they helped him to come to terms with it with immense patience and understanding. Everyone from the management, the nursing staff, the care staff and the domestic staff worked as a supportive team to ensure that he was comfortable and well cared for. I know from conversations with him that he was very appreciative of everything that was done for him. I must also point out that this support continued after he died with everyone giving myself and other family members all the support and time we needed to deal with a difficult situation.

Thanks to you all.

My relative has been living in Castleview since May this year and has settled remarkably well. I have called at the home at various different times to check that it is as good as I thought and it is. The staff are compassionate and tactile and seem genuinely to love their work. I rate Castleview very
highly.

I can’t thank Castleview Care Home enough for the loving care and support they give to my dad. He is at end of stage with c.o.p.d it has been very stressful for my dad and also our family, the care and the support we get from the manager and ALL the care team is second to none. My dad has been in Castleview
for 51/2 years it’s heart breaking seeing your loved ones in a care home but knowing that people you trust are looking after them is so reassuring. My dad has been supported by a nurse who isn’t really a nurse but an angel in disguise, he has sat for hours and hours reassuring my dad he goes way way beyond his nursing role myself and my brother can’t thank him enough he has been our family’s rock.
A huge thank you to EVERYONE at Castleview from our family ??

I cannot fault Castleview Care Home. My aunt has been there for 6 months and suffers from dementia. The staff are friendly and kind, efficient and communicative and when she gets upset when we are leaving will give her a hug, they seem always to have time to talk and listen. I know that my aunt could
not be in a better place.

The home provided an excellent standard of care to my uncle during his stay. At the start of his stay he was a very angry person in the early stages of dementia, however, the team worked with him and he settled in saying that the staff were excellent and looked after him very well. He enjoyed the variety
of food and could not praise the staff enough who went out of their way to make his time in Castleview enjoyable. The team went out of their way to try and accommodate his needs including arranging to pick him up from the town if his legs were too sore to walk back.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.488)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.488) out of 10 for Castleview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.650 for Castleview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 103 Ratings = 4.65

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.838 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Castleview Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.6 = 0.938

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
