A number of years ago, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I was advised that I would need and require 24-hour care each day and that my home was not suited to my condition and needs. Jane Percy House had been recommended from local health services. After visiting the site, I was pleasantly
surprised, and after an assessment from Jane Percy House, I was invited to take residence within. The home was well-engineered to the needs of the users, the accommodation was of high-grade with an outstanding menu. That was 9 years ago. This year in April I was offered residence again as my MS had progressed. In that, I applied again to reside at the home.
After being away for such a long time I was unsure of changes. The home had not changed at all. Still clean, tidy, safe and excellent food. However, the menu had changed from really good to outstanding which is all down to the chef and her staff.
Thank you to all the staff from management to the chef and cleaners you're all amazing.

I have moved up to Northumberland from Hastings, East Sussex. I have been here for 1 year. Now the staff are very good at what they do. The food is very tasty and the cooks are lovely as with all the team here. The management are very caring, like the care team. Without the care and support I would
not be here today, so thank you Jane Percy House for what you have done for me. You have made me feel a person again.

I am a service user at Jane Percy House, the Disabilities Trust in Cramlington. I have been here for 12 years. Staff are fab and promote our independence as much as possible. We have cooks that do freshly cooked meals every day. Staff are trained to meet an individual's needs. It's a lovely home and
I recommend it to anyone looking to moving into a residential care home.

I have lived at Jane Percy House for just over 2 years. I am not a person that stays in places that long if I don't feel comfortable in my surroundings. The staff are friendly, approachable and supportive. I suffer from anxiety and don't know how I would have managed over the last few months without
their care and emotional support! I feel that everyone here are like my extended family.

The cooks are providing a variety of freshly made (not frozen) meals every day, sometimes baking biscuits, cakes, scones etc from scratch. They also provide meals depending on service users' dietary requirements and they are fully qualified!

Being at Jane Percy House has allowed me to rebuild my confidence, which means I can independently access shops etc, without my anxiety rearing its ugly head! I feel that I've found my true self again and I put that down to being happy at Jane Percy House.

My son has lived at Jane Percy House for 17 years and the care he has received has been consistently of the highest standard, from physical and emotional care to recognising medical problems and taking appropriate action. There are plenty of activities, which has been important during Covid-19. Safety
measures during Covid-19 have been exactly right. Quality of meals is excellent and was adjusted for my son by adding extra calcium-rich meals to aid healing of his injury (sustained by himself). Jane Percy House has been home from home for my son and I could not recommend the facility, staff and management highly enough.

Seems good on the face of it but the care the residents receive is not satisfactory. I know it's been difficult lately but the amount of agency staff is not acceptable. Most cannot do the job required. The food is mostly frozen and the cooks have no qualifications. My husband just left and we were very
grateful when the care staff offered to pack and drop off my husband's belongings. That was until it arrived, all just dumped in bin bags! Nothing was folded, it just looked like rubbish. All wires for his equipment were entangled in one great mass it was very upsetting to see they had treated his belongings with such disrespect.

Reply from Laura Bennett, Media Manager at Jane Percy House

Dear Dawn, thanks for sharing your feedback. I wanted to reach out and apologise for the issues both you and your husband experienced. This is not typical of us. We have highlighted to the team and can assure you it will not happen again.
We set a high standard for ourselves and we're sorry to hear this was not met in your interaction with our business.
As it may be too late to reconcile, I wanted you to know that I have shared your experience with the wider team to be sure we don't make these mistakes again.
If there is anything further I can do for you, or if you would like to discuss, please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Laura.
