Another amazing Christmas gourmet night at the home. Food fantastic, service second to none.
Visited mam prior to the meal. Very happy with her surroundings noticed her legs had deteriorated and informed the manager as always went up to check and will keep an eye on her.

Whenever I come to visit my mother the staff are always pleasant and if I ask them they tell me how my mother has been and what she has been doing.
My mother is always dressed and clean.

I was pleased to see mam in the lounge interacting with others. She'd been to the hairdressers and had her hair done, she was in good spirits and full of chat. The carers do a fabulous job at Wansbeck and are all dedicated to their job. They always go above and beyond in all they do. Mam is always clean
and tidy when I visit.

The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. They are very caring and attentive to my sister's needs looking after her sensitively and appropriately. The care home is always very clean and welcoming. The new sitting area outside (enclosed for safety) is a lovely addition and the ladies all had
their sun hats on when I came to visit today.

My father has only been at Wansbeck Care Home for a short while. He has settled really well and on visiting him I am so happy that he is being cared for so well and I find the staff extremely caring and very friendly. They keep me informed as to his welfare.

After 9 and a half years living at Wansbeck Care Home, I continue to see the dedicated care given to my aunt from all the staff who always meet and embrace her personal needs. Despite her frailty and progressive dementia, they still ensure she is able to enjoy life be it from the happy approach of the
carers, the food and treats. She enjoys or simply being involved in daily activities where appropriate. On my weekly visit, she always appears happy and content.

After initially visiting this home my husband and I were warmly greeted and shown around the home.
We were looking to find a home for a 95-year-old lady who we looked after.
After visiting other homes in the area we were very fortunate to be told a room had become available.
The staff and management
have all made this lady feel welcome and cared about.
After some distressing times this lady, after a week, says she is, in her words, excited about her new home.
This is all down to the staff from the cleaning staff right through to management.

I had mixed feelings about my mother's care when she came out of hospital I didn't feel she was well enough to go straight back to her own home. The best thing we did was placing her in Wansbeck Care Home, the staff are brilliant, very friendly, nothing is too much bother. Mam has come along great,
up walking about a massive improvement in her happiness.

My mum has been in the home for a week now after a long stay in hospital. We were dreading it but the staff have been fantastic, both with my mum but also with us, her family. They have been supportive and caring, whilst also being professional. They are always there with advice and have made what could
have been a very traumatic time, so much better and it is a relief to know mum is in such a lovely, safe place.

When I found Wansbeck, they took me in, comforted me, reassured me they would care for Dad. They have done exactly that. All of the staff are professional, treat my Dad with dignity, respect and humour. There is always a smile and laughter to share. The staff don't just do a job, they make a happy home
for the residents. They "get" my Dad. They know him and care about him

My husband has received superb care in this home since his admission in September 2016. The staff deliver a very high standard of personalised care are very observant in noting any changes in my husband's condition. Communication has been excellent and both myself and my husband are very happy with
his surroundings and care. He is kept warm, comfortable and entertained, in a safe environment in which he clearly feels secure and valued.

With over 35 years of experience in the care sector, Bev has been leading the team at Wansbeck Care Home as the home manager for the past 3 years. Her extensive background spans working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviours, but her true passion is in dementia care, to which she has devoted more than 20 years. Bev is passionate about caring for the elderly and loves hearing their unique stories and experiences. She also places great importance on building relationships with their families, ensuring each resident is understood and cared for in a personalised way.


In her personal life, Bev enjoys time with her husband Ian, their 5 grown-up children, and 11 grandchildren—with a new baby grandson on the way. She is also a dog lover and enjoys spending time with her dog Lulu. When she’s not at work, you’ll often find her knitting thoughtful gifts for family members of her team.


At Wansbeck, Bev and her team are dedicated to creating a home-like environment where residents feel safe, supported, and valued. The care team is known for their compassion and willingness to go the extra mile for every resident.
