Sandford is a beautiful Care Home situated just a few hundred meters away from the local shops and amenities of Prestatyn town Centre. The Care Home is ideally placed boasting some beautiful views of the both the Irish Sea and the beach to the front of the building and, to the back of the building there are stunning views of Gwaenysgor Hill.

The residential unit within the Care Home is totally purpose-built, with exceptionally large and spacious bedrooms furnished to very high standards, every room is fully en-suite with a walk-in wet room, toilet and washbasin. There is a tastefully decorated communal lounge and dining area and a lift to get between floors. There is a communal bathroom available with electronic bath hoists to support those with mobility problems to access the bathing facilities.

The residential dementia unit is a part of the original house and, each bedroom is spacious and has a washbasin and is fully furnished to a very high standard. Some of the bedrooms on the residential dementia unit have their own access into the spacious and secure sensory garden area which leads off of the large communal lounge and, there is a beautiful dining area. There are several communal bathrooms again equipped with bathing, showering and toileting facilities. The residential dementia unit is very dementia friendly with coloured doors, dementia signs and coloured handrails and toilet seats etc. In addition to this, there is an additional ‘quiet’ seating area away from the main communal lounge with an outdoor park theme. There is also a lift for residents to easily move between floors.

They use a state-of-the-art Care Planning Technology to aid them in providing tailor-made care that is individualised to the needs, wishes and preferences of each resident. They have an activities co-ordinator who is able to cater for the individual interests and abilities of residents.

Sandford is a really lovely care home. It's very clean and well organised and the staff are thoughtful and attentive to residents needs. The accommodation is spacious and residents rooms are bright and homely. My mother-in-law enjoys the various activities on offer and is really looking forward to any
trips planned for them all in the new vehicle that's recently arrived! We feel confident that our loved one is in safe hands and she seems to have flourished during her stay. We're also very grateful for the support the team have offered to us too.

The staff are exceptional and show so much love, attention and respect to residents and families.
The home is extremely welcoming and engages residents with mock shops, post offices, libraries etc.
The management is very hands-on and works with residents and staff alike. It is an excellent home,

I can not tell you how grateful I am to Sandford Care Home for the dedication they showed to my beautiful mother.
The compassion and care that my mum received were second to none, and the love that my mum received, left me with no doubt that she was in the best possible place for her to have the happiest
life possible.
The manager was absolutely wonderful with my mum, and that made the difference for both my mum and ourselves in ensuring that she was safe and loved.
The entire staff not only cared for my mum but they also loved her too! That was evident in abundance!
Mum and I had many chats over the phone about some of the antics that she was getting up to with the carers - we giggled a lot, and Mum was so happy - it reassured me from a distance that Mum was ok!
During my Mum's final days - her pain was eased by the gentleness and warmth of her extended family.
I will never forget this and will never be able to repay their love for my mum.

The care home has been brilliant with my nan from day one, and she has been there for over three years now. She feels like she’s on holiday there, and she is treated that well by every single staff member.
Staff are very welcoming, offering refreshments on arrival.

I would recommend this care home to anyone. My mum was a resident in 2019 until she sadly passed away in July 2021. My dad was also a resident in 2019 until he sadly passed away in January 2023. They were both happy in Sandford Care Home. The carers were very supportive of all our family members, not
just with my parents. The manager of the home was also very caring to them and us. Nothing was too much trouble. My dad passed away with carers beside his bed till his last breath, which as a family, we very much appreciated it. We still visit the manager and staff at Sandford Care Home.

I would like to thank all staff and management team for all their help and support in getting my mum settled into Sandford Care Home. The care and attention she has received from all staff have been excellent, and they are always kind, considerate and supportive when caring for Mum. Mum's room is big
and comfy with great views. The food is really good. The extra care and entertainment provided by the home are brilliant. Thank you to all staff at Sandford for looking after my mum and making her feel settled. It has been a huge relief for me that Mum is safe, warm, well-fed and cared for after having home care for the last eight years; it is so reassuring to know Mum has care now 24 hours. Thank you to all staff.

My father-in-law sadly passed away on the 4th of January, and the care received when that time came was fantastic. They went above and beyond, and they even looked after us as a family. My father has been in Sandford for fifteen months and has throughout received excellent care that properly matches his needs. His mental health has improved considerably over that time as has his physical well-being. When he has been poorly, the staff have responded promptly and responsibly. Throughout
my father's stay, covid restrictions have been in place, but at all times whenever it has been possible, visits have not only been allowed, but encouraged. This has made a huge difference to all of us. We now take our two dogs in regularly, which gives us all a lift. The manager and his team have worked heroically in very difficult times, to make the transition into care as smooth as it ever could be.

Dad has only been a resident of Sandford for only a couple of months, but I have seen an improvement in him during that time. The staff are very approachable to ask questions about Dad and are very informative with the answers. They are also very caring about all the resident's needs and requirements
and treat everyone with the dignity that they deserve. Management goes above and beyond also with the care of the residents. Both I and my wife are very happy with the level of care my dad receives. He is very happy with the care he is receiving and participates in activities when he can, or if he wants to stay in his room and watch TV, he can; it's his choice.

Mum receives excellent friendly care - also, since being able to visit in the room, I can see that everything is kept clean and tidy inside the home as well.
I am really pleased with how quickly the staff deal with any issues; they also make sure that relatives know what is happening.

Couldn't ask for a better home for my great uncle. The staff are all so friendly and hard-working. We went to visit our uncle for his 85th birthday outside in the garden, and the manager and the staff couldn't do enough for us even though they were busy with other relatives attending as it was father's
day on the same day. The staff have always been very helpful, and my uncle seems settled and happy in the home, even taking part in activities which he would rarely do in his previous home. The activities coordinator adapts the activities to include everyone's interests and is often sending over pictures of what he has been up to. Such a lovely home and very person-centred, delivering a high standard of care to their residents.

My brother is so happy at Sandford. He joins in on all the activities, and they even do activities that are particularly designed just for him. We get regular updates of what he's been up to, which is lovely.
The staff are wonderful, always helpful and informative, and nothing is too much trouble.

Mum has been in Sandford since August; the staff are amazing. The manager is a star; he goes above and beyond to ensure the happiness and well-being of all the residents. The home has a very homely feel, no smells, lovely rooms, nothing is too much trouble. Food-wise, they will happily go through a
long list of foods to try and tempt Mum to eat. The care staff sit with Mum to encourage her to eat and drink. I cannot thank them all enough for the care, respect and compassion they give Mum.

Wow, what a fantastic care home! My mum never wanted to go into a care home, and we wanted to keep her at home, so it was a difficult decision. However, the manager and staff, are without exception, amazing. They are very caring, very professional and very human. They communicate well with me and understand
and adapt to her need with humanity and dignity; she is a complex person apart from her health needs, and so this isn't easy. Her happiness is important to them. There is an activities coordinator, who she also really likes, who collects her for activities, and she is brighter and more positive as result. She enjoys the food, which includes food she particularly likes, and she has made three friends, who she says go and watch a film together. She is much better off than when she was at home. Thank you, everyone, at the Sandford; you are making a real difference to my mums last years.

My dear mother was brought here from her home of 60-years during the first lockdown, as she need 24-hour care and wanted to be near to me. She was given a very warm welcome by the very caring staff, and her needs were met in a very dignified way. My only concern/area for improvement is that residents
are not taken outside for fresh air and feel that this should be encouraged as part of their daily routine. More entertainment is needed.

My mother-in-law came to Sandford in October 2020, and from that moment, the team at Sandford took care of her with professionalism and respect throughout. mt mother-in-law's needs were challenging at times, and she was looked after with care and dignity throughout. We were only able to have limited
visits due to Covid-19, and we lived 300-miles away, but we were kept fully informed at all times. We were impressed by the attitude of all the staff.

Our mum went to Sandford Care Home 15-months ago during the lockdown, and she was kept safe and protected.
Mum enjoyed the activities, the good food and her spacious room.
The staff are genuinely caring and compassionate, nothing is too much trouble for them. Communication is excellent, and we were
always kept fully informed.
The level of care during her final months was exceptional, thanks to the wonderful, dedicated manager and the staff’s loving care.
Our family will always be so grateful to all the staff at Sandford.

Sean

Sean

Job Title: Care Home Manager

Joined: 2019

Sean has over 14 years of experience in the care industry working in an array of settings including Nursing, Residential, Early Onset Dementia, YPD, End of Life and Elderly Care. Sean has a real passion for working with people and ensuring the provision of the best quality and standards of person-centred care are delivered.


Sean holds three level 5 qualifications; NVQ L5 Management in Health and Social Care, NVQ L5 Leadership and Management and, NVQ L5 Assistant Practitioner.


Sean started his career in care as a Health Care Assistant in St Helens, Merseyside where he learned the foundations of his role. Sean then worked his way to become a Senior Care Assistant, Residential Unit Manager and then, Nursing Unit Manager before later working as a Care Quality Monitoring Manager whereby he was responsible for monitoring the overall quality and standards of care delivery.


Sean began his career within the Pearlcare Group as the Care Home Manager of Wellfield Residential Care Home, Hawarden in May 2019. Sean became the Care Home Manager of Sandford Care Home in August 2020 and is extremely excited and privileged to have the opportunity to lead and manage his second Care Home within the Pearlcare Group.

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

Nicola has a wealth of experience and knowledge within Health and Social Care with over 20 years of experience within the sector. She is passionate about people and equally as passionate about delivering high standards of both dementia and residential care.


Nicola began working at Sandford back in July 2020 initially as a Senior Care Assistant. Nicola was then promoted to Deputy Home Manager in June 2021 and has supported upholding the company's high standards and expectations.
