During my stay at Hafod House, I am having a wonderful time. Starting with the staff I cannot express in words how much they help me through good times and also bad times, no request ever seems like a chore and they always have time for you no matter what even when rushed off their feet. The food is
exceptional and if you are peckish in-between meals or through the night something will soon be made for you. Even though I do not partake in many activities there is always something for the residents to do. Your room along with the whole of the building is kept extremely clean. The grounds are very private and quiet and well-kept l would not hesitate for a second to recommend Hafod House to any of my family and friends.

Both my Mother and Mother in Law are resident at Hafod House. They have very different needs and personalities. They are treated as individuals and their specific needs are met and understood. The home is welcoming and all of the staff are positive and helpful. Any queries raised with the manager or
senior care staff are dealt with in a timely manner. There is a range of inclusive activities and the atmosphere is good.
The food is plentiful and varied and they both say it's delicious. The rooms are clean, bright and pleasant and clothes are well looked after.
The residents are made to feel secure, valued and part of the family. I visit most days so my review is based on a lot of time spent there at various times of the day and night.
I would like to see a more pleasant outside space with comfier furniture. The garden surroundings are beautiful and the residents would benefit from some sturdier and comfortable furniture out there.
I would highly recommend Hafod House.

Hafod House is in a rural environment which is nice and peaceful but close to good road links.
The staff are all very dedicated and take time to discuss the "old times" with residents. Nothing is too much trouble and the manager is always ready to help with any queries I may have.
Overall a lovely
clean and well-run home with lots of things going on to get the residents engaged in,
The residents are treated very well and are in a safe environment 24/7
Peace of mind, knowing your relative is being cared for by these staff, is very comforting.

My first feeling when I entered the home, I found it very warm and inviting.
My impression of the residents is that they are happy within the environment they live in.
Staff are also welcoming and have a warm feeling when entering the home.

Mum has been a resident for several years now and has benefitted from being here. Both her physical and mental health has improved.
She has an excellent relationship with the manager and senior staff. If she is unhappy about anything they are very approachable and take on board anything she says.
I
find the majority of staff are amazing.
For my mum, this home works and if she hadn’t have gone there I am unsure if she would still be with us, so for me, it’s a big thank you and keep up the great work.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.739)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.739) out of 10 for Hafod House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.889 for Hafod House is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.889

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hafod House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.6

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, my name is Armani and I am the registered home manager for Hafod House. I first started my career in adult social care in 2016 at Hafod House and I have worked in many roles over the years. 4 of which have been in leadership and managerial roles.

My first job in care was as a domestic assistant which I did for a year before becoming a care assistant. I worked as a care assistant for a couple of years before becoming a senior carer and then deputy manager. I left Hafod House for a short period in February 2024 to build more experience and knowledge within other care settings before returning in July 2024 as the deputy manager again as Hafod was where I wanted to be and was where I missed. I was then promoted to home manager in August 2024.

Hafod is a lovely home with a homely feel and has always felt like a 2nd family to me. My mission is to ensure residents feel at home and enjoy every moment they spend with us, as well as to be a place our staff enjoy working at.

Please feel free to contact me at any time.
