The charges for Chirk Court Care Home include all aspects of care and services provided inclusive of high levels of staffing, laundry and cleaning staff and facilities, medication ordering, management and administration of medications and onward referrals to health services and specialist health professionals to support the individual within the care home.
We will conduct professional meetings with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding and review, social worker reviews, referrals to healthcare professionals and GP twice weekly clinics which are conducted by doctors in the care home for ease of Residents living within our support services.
The fees reflect a bespoke care home, recently built on our existing 30 year care home site with an excellent reputation, offering bespoke services and support, adaptive technology to maintain independence and staffing levels close to nursing support levels. The home is based on the Sterling University model for excellence in dementia care with individual households accommodating no more than 14 residents, allocated continuity of staff to develop and maintain excellent relationships and individual rooms with full en suite facilities.
There is a full time Activity Coordinator employed within Chirk Court to develop and plan individual and Group Activities for stimulation and wellbeing, working weekends also to ensure quality of life, choice and opportunity to live life at our best at all times.

Thanks so much for your feedback, as this is always appreciated and as the Manager, we very much appreciate the challenges both you and we face in supporting each individual who lives within a supported in-bed situation. We have received funding, and detailed information in the Chirk Court Newsletter, regarding RITA which is the electronic interactive device sourced and funded by WG during covid to support activities, and especially potentially more isolated. This has had exceptionally positive outcomes for residents and is used throughout a 24hr period with individuals who need stimulation, and activities geared and tailored to individual preferences.
The full-time Activities Coordinator has supported an opera and performance singer this week in the orangery. As doors are 1 1/2 size, due to specialist design of the building, those living in a bed situation are and were able to attend if they wished, great to see a greater range of external activities now the covid transition is underway!!

Myself and the team take great pride in ensuring we treat each individual with respect and dignity, make a person comfortable, as in your own home, and feel valued and significant. It can be challenging for any individual living with dementia and at times additional health needs or ill health. Having patience and commitment to ensure a resident feels that they contribute and are valued ensures individuals living with dementia, and other complex needs at times, are supported when there is personal challenge whilst enabled to maintain or regain skills post operations and procedures.
Feeling happy, contented and part of something broader is such a compliment that it is a pleasure to read and what we focus so hard as staff to achieve for every individual living within Chirk Court.

I would always hope that we welcome residents, families and friends with empathy when difficult decisions that care home support is required are taken. As a team, Chirk Court value the importance of family in ensuring the care, loving and supportive environment is fostered so that Mum, and all residents within the home, feel a part of a wider community and family, secure and content whilst living their best life.
The dedicated activity coordinator has worked relentlessly to ensure there is a very broad range of activities and events which orientate and provide great social and peer opportunity to individuals living within Chirk Court.
As a team, it's a fabulous place to work too and enables us to support people, meet and share time with families and do the job we hold so important.

My Name is Jane Humphreys I have worked in the care Industry since 1991 progressing from working in Dom care setting supporting people in their homes, progressing to working as a support worker with Residents who had been supported by hospitals to be supported in supportive leaving, I then progressed to Deputy in 1997.
In 1998 I became a registered Home Manager over Two supportive living homes.
During this time I completed My Registered Manager award which also includes my Higher Manager award in managing Care home services, Also My Further Education Teacher Training.
In 2004 I became a home manager for a children's home where I also completed my Registered Manager qualification in Children’s Services Underneath Ofsted.
In 2006 My Mother passed away In a nursing Home at the age of 67, and I felt I needed to change my direction In care.
I managed a Residential Care home in Powys, working with Commissioning, CIW, NHS, and ALSO Local. It was here that I trained with Bradford University which related to specialised dementia care mapping and improvement of quality with dementia and Mental Health Services. This was an excellent opportunity to look at the training that each staff member needed to undertake to look at the key skills which were essential to supporting residents with Dementia.
I feel that I have a clear understanding of how it feels when you place your loved ones into a care home, after my mother was admitted into the care home I could become her daughter again rather than her carer. I feel with this life experience with a loved one being in a care home I have a better understanding.
Within My new role as the Care Home Manager at Chirk Court, I find it a huge privilege to be at the home, looking at each household and how unique the home is in supporting each resident with the home to be as independent as possible valuing them and treating them with respect and Dignity.

After having my family, I worked as a receptionist/admin
I started work at Chirk Court Care Home in September 2017, as the receptionist/admin.
The work is very varied, never a dull moment, interesting and very rewarding. Although very busy, we have fun, the work is rewarding and we work well together as a team.
I have worked in the admin field since 1997 after having my children.
I have worked In the care field as an admin since 2014 when I was an admin at a Large care Home.
I really enjoy interacting and meeting and greeting People coming into Chirk Court whether visitors professionals, family, contractors, or staff, It is all about first impressions.
I absolutely love going to the households at Chirk Court and getting to know the residents.
It is such a lovely care home to work in. We ensure that we are all working together as a team from management, lead senior, seniors, carers, Housekeepers, cooks, and handymen to admin we ensure that the the residents are in the centre of everything we do, looking at and ensuring that Clwyd Alyn Values are part of what we do Trust Hope and kindness

I have worked within Clwyd Alyn since January 2007.
I have worked within Chirk Court as the Training Admin since I transferred to the home in April 2015.
My main role is to look at the training that is being provided throughout the care home, booking courses, linking in with internal and external providers ensuring that we are Compliant. Ensure staff portfolios of training are in place.
I work closely with the manager and the team at Chirk court to ensure that we are meeting te targets that are required to ensure that all the staff have the knowledge and understanding to allow them to practise safely within Chirk Court.
Although my role can change throughout the day, where I may be looking at purchase orders supporting the front of the home when my colleagues are on leave, it is very diverse which I enjoy.
I find that Clwyd Alyn's Values are very clear with Trust Hope and Kindness.

Since leaving school I have worked my way up from receptionist to Personal assistant. A number of years ago my husband and I went to work in the Middle East, with a plan to move back to England.
In 2023 I moved back to the United Kingdom and my husband and I have now bought a lovely cottage in the Chirk Area where I love being in my garden bringing flowers into the care home and helping the residents in the gardens that they have here.
I applied to work at Chirk Court as I thought the value bases and the feedback about Clwyd Alyn were Excellent, Most of all I wanted to come and work in the community- where I live and give something back.
My Main role at Chirk Court is to ensure that the staffing is correct for each of the households.
With Chirk Court, we have 5 households with a separate Staff team, led by a senior in each household.
The staffing ratio within the care home is excellent, I will link with the staff team looking at coverage for annual leave and sickness so that the households have the staffing in place to run smoothly and effectively.
I have only been at Chirk Court since February of this year but I absolutely love it here. The manager is very proactive here and is led by the resident needs.
As a team, we all work together- where we will support each other and cover each other jobs when staff are on leave.

Throughout my working life, I have been in a number of different roles, such as trainer and Manager at M and S Financial Services, working with bank settings and supporting vulnerable customers guiding them with their Financial difficulties and sign-posting them to support groups, I have been a manager within a high-end hairdressers, and managing a call centres support team member with their development ensuring all services level were met.
I applied to Clwyd Alyn as I was impressed with the values that they had, the job That I applied for was for only one year which was a brand new role as A quality Assurance Admin but on reading the reviews I felt that I wanted to be part of the Working Group. However, the contract then changed to permanent and I have been at Chirk Court since 2018.
My main role is to ensure that the home remains Compliant with in remit of CIW, I work with the Registered manager to ensure that all areas of the care home are covered whether this be a resident Dols, staff registration to Social Care Wales, looking also at Certificates and work that is necessary with thin the home.
I am the Staff Forum Rep for Care homes within the company, where I will link in with all staff gaining insight into what they are doing feeling etc, and working with them and supporting them with changes.
In 2023 Clwyd Alyn supported me in gaining my Level 4 In Preparing for Leadership in Health and Social Care.
Within Chirk Court with have a team of Admins who we work together to ensure that the home Runs Smoothly

My name is Hayley Parry, I started in care in 2010 as a part-time activities coordinator. I did this role for 12 months before becoming a care practitioner. In 2011 I started Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care then became a senior and completed Level 3 and 5 diploma in Health and Social Care. Within this service, I also became a key trainer for manual handling, a training mentor, a social care partner and a staff partner.
I started at Chirk Court in 2016 as a care practitioner and have completed my training to become a six-step palliative care champion. In 2017 I became a senior care practitioner and I am currently undertaking Level 4 Introduction to Leadership and Management. I have just started a new role within the company as a lead senior at Chirk Court along with my Colleague Jackie.

Jackie has been working in the care environment for nearly 12 years, Jackie started off by working in the community where she would be visiting people in the community in their homes, Jackie was working within one of our assistance living schemes in Plas Telford, where she enjoyed working with Clwyd Alyn where she decided to come over to work directly with Clwyd Alyn at Chirk Court where she came to work as a night staff member in 2018, where she then was successful in her application for senior, Jackie has worked within the home on a number of households and has a vast amount of knowledge and experience.
Recently she has been successfully in the lead senior position at Chirk Court so she has actively worked her way through the roles in Chirk Court and has a clear understanding of what staff roles And responsibilities are.
Jackie has very clear values in place and supported the team in looking at how residents may feel coming into a care home, looking at respecting them as individuals and supporting family members through how they are feeling about their loved ones coming into the care home.
Jackie is in the process of completing her level 3 then she will be supported to start her level 4. Jackie has completed in the 6 steps of palliative care

Michelle has been at Chirk Court since 2016, where she was employed as a housekeeper, previously she has had experience working as an area manager in a supers market where she did routine checks and supported the supermarkets she was allocated to.
She came for the position of housekeeper as she felt that she needed a change, she loves working at the home she enjoys interacting with the residents and making a change.
This year she was successful as the lead Housekeeper where she supported her team in looking at all areas of the home to ensure high-quality cleaning and also supporting residents with their laundry looking at meaningful activities in their households.

Christell has been employed within Clwyd Alyn for 16 years, She started at Chirk Court as a Kitchen Assistant, to cover maternity leave, then after a year became a relief cook working weekends .
she then was offered a Cook position in the home where she was offered the chance to complete her Qualification.
In 2023 she was offered the Lead cook position where she is a key part of leading the kitchen team, her dedication to the home and to her team is excellent. She looks at the rotas to ensure that the team has suitable staffing in place. She looks at supporting the team around key areas of allergens.
Recently Christell has led her team in gaining 5* in Food standards which she has achieved for a number of years.
She is regularly part of the household meeting so she can gauge what residents have enjoyed and what they would like to have on the menu.
